I used the same Google ID, but I'm being asked to pay again. Why is this happening? ### 3/5 — JotterPad *2025-08-27* Tolle App, hängt sich leider immer wieder auf. Sonst aber super einfach handzuhaben. ### 2/5 — Deletes progress!! *2025-06-08* I have been using this app for over a month and I’m going to have to delete it. I downloaded it to write stories on. I love the dark background. I like the way it stores your documents. Trying to export them to other apps is very buggy, but I don’t blame that on JotterPad. HOWEVER, I have had several instances where I will be in a document, close it out, and when I go back in huge chunks of my writing is gone. This has cost me hours of work, as I have to go back and re-write portions of stories over and over, as the app deletes the progress when it gets closed. I’ve tried several methods of closing it out, from just swiping it away to actually backing all the way out of the document. It didn’t make a difference. And there’s no rhyme or reason to which documents get chunks removed, so I believe it’s a glitch in the app itself that’s causing it to not auto save. Very disappointing and frustrating, so it will be getting deleted as soon as I can remove my files from it. ### 3/5 — I think it’s nice *2025-05-31* I literally just got it today… I do have high hopes for it but I’m trying to remind myself that this app is really only brilliant if you pay for the subscription, which I am not going to do. I want a free writing app and that is not a lot to ask for. I hope that this app will be good with the free plan— it seems fine so far. I like the layout and font and all that— but it would be nice to get rid of the massive paywalls. In Sha Allah it’ll be fine. ### 2/5 — So Buggy *2024-10-09* The basics are difficulty in the fountain syntax. You can’t even delete lines. It has an order of Scene, Action, Character, Dialogue. That you have to go in. You can’t go back and change it—take out a line of action, add a parenthesis. None of it. Which means it’s only useful if you knew your script word for word, typed it out exactly correct the first time, and didn’t need to change anything or work through versions. So it makes editing or rewriting nearly impossible. ### 2/5 — Lost multiple work items because of its unreliable behavior *2024-09-17* This app is not able to save what is written in an MD when user clicks done. Many times I wrote few pages before clicking done, and when I reopen it the document only has 2-3 words. Rest is gone. So i lost 30 min of writings for nothing every time. Can be reproduce. Some features don't work and nobody is available during the regular work hours JotterPad claims to be manning the chat feature. Also, I can't get the publish feature to work with tumblr and Wordpress. ### 2/5 — Smart quotes? Auto dash? *2022-09-21, version 14.1.7* This app could be so great but so many frustrating format issues are holding it back. Prior to now, I could get smart quotes (the curly kind) and automatic dash (—) to work on my iPhone, but now neither work. It’s frustration after frustration that has me regretting paying for a subscription. Только по началу когда сохраняла Файлы, то текст куда-то пропадал. Сегодня снова столкнулась с такой проблемой. Написала 1000 слов, нажала сохранить, потом вышла, а когда зашла обратно, то слов оказалось на 1000 меньше (то есть та 1000, которую писала просто исчезла!) Разработчики, ну как так то? I had been using jotterpad for two years now and have suggested jotterpad to some of my friends as well. I have it on all my devices, even my android tablet, and it syncs perfectly with google drive. The variety of templates (including several that will automatically format your novel for you), the typewriter, and the built-in dictionary and thesaurus cannot be beat. I couldn’t live without it. It’s simple, intuitive, and accessible via mobile device anywhere I happen to be. It allows for both cloud and local storage and the exportation of documents, simply. I use it for several areas: school notes, work, personal writing. The interface is simple and easy to navigate, and being able to save files to the cloud is a great feature as it ensures that I'll always be able to access that file, even if my phone breaks. **Developer response:** Thank you so much for the review! ### 5/5 — Great Fountain editor for scripts *2021-12-14* I did a fair bit of research into script writing software that supports Fountain, and have found this one to be a great “freemium” alternative to many more expensive ones. I’ve paid the upgrade cost for cloud syncing, so I can now use it easily across multiple platforms and devices. Great for writing on the go and then polishing at home! It’s far cheaper than most of the alternatives, but if you want to export to Final Draft or a more feature-rich Fountain program for editing, that is supported. The Fountain formatting is intuitive and simple, with the export doing most of the layout work for you. The quality of life features, like the stats and the typewriter mode are also helpful. I use typewriter less frequently, but that’s personal preference as I like to see the lines before for context. Can’t comment on the Markdown features, as I haven’t tried them yet. ### 5/5 — I love this app *2021-12-09, version 13.1.5* I've always loved Jotterpad since the first moment I downloaded it on my Android tablet years ago.
