### 4/5 — Good App

*2022-11-28, version 6.2.0*

This app was a good way to better yourself and your knowledge of what you do right and wrong. I really like how it includes many options to be sustainable in your daily life. 10/10

### 4/5 — Server error

*2022-01-11, version 6.1.9*

Server hatası veriyor ve uygulamaları kullanamıyorum. Yardımcı olabilir misiniz?

It gives server error and I cannot use applications. Can you help me?

### 4/5 — Good, but has gaps

*2020-12-10, version 4.2.11*

I love the concept of this app and plan to use it with students to encourage sustainable living in a way that speaks their language of tech and competition, but I feel it has some holes.

Although the areas present on here have very comprehensive lists, I feel that a section for clothing could be useful. The textile industry is the third largest polluter in the world. Not all of that is carbon (much is chemical and physical waste), but I feel it could be added here. Have badges for shopping second hand, passing on trendy items in favour of wearing out old items, repairing clothing, extending life cycles of worn out clothes by cutting them up to be reusable rags to replace paper towel, wearing an item of clothing 40+ times, buying sustainable fibres (organic cotton, bamboo, linen, hemp, recycled polyester...), etc.

### 4/5 — Needs work but great potential

*2020-11-22, version 4.2.11*

This is an app filled with potential, however, it could do with some work. When asked to log in, there are no slide titles, instead saying ‘Slideshow page 0 subtitle’ etc.

Buttons, such as the logout one, seem incomplete. The button reads:

‘Are You Sure
Settings Logout NO Credentials Alert Message’
The two options given are ‘Settings Logout Alert Accept Button’ and ‘Settings Logout Alert Reject Button’.

Overall, I think this app is filled with potential, but has a handful of unprofessional errors that, with review, could make this app an incredibly useful tool in the fight against environmental destruction.

### 4/5 — Really great with a couple glitches

*2020-09-02, version 4.2.11*

I really love this app, it’s really fun to catalogue my activities and discover new way to be sustainable. Sometimes the titles can be a bit glitchy, and it’s quite focussed on the northern hemisphere it terms of seasons, but other than that I’m really enjoying it!

### 3/5 — Superficial

*2020-01-13, version 4.2.10*

I LOVE that people are making lifestyle changes that benefit the environment. Unfortunately, the actions I see people doing the most often are superficial things that even if EVERYBODY did, we would still be facing some of the same problems with the environment that we’re facing now. So, I have some ideas.

1)However, many of these things require you to buy something, which can be very counter productive (CO2 emissions from the gathering of materials, transportation of materials, labor- are these workers getting fair pay or are they children or slaves, no I’m not exaggerating- transportation to store, and so on). Will this item be used enough times that the waste and emissions it saves will be greater than what was needed to be created? Or will it be throw away when it goes out of style?

2) Also, I would love to see things like choosing to repurpose or reuse something rather than throwing it away when it breaks and buying another new thing. Or, choosing to buy something used, such as clothes, furniture, and appliances, rather than new. This actually has quite a large impact

3) I would like to see that some of the harder, and more impactful things give more points than simply filling up you hydro flask (e.g. patching holes in the ceiling/ window, creating greywater recycling system, buying local produce, choosing second hand, setting up a compost, etc). I would like this because many people are getting points for things they would do anyways (which isn’t a bad thing!), but the people who are putting more time and effort are getting the same, if not less, points than those who are buzzing nothing except their reusable water bottle, silverware (that they probably bought new for really cheap online, I wonder who made that for you?), and riding the bus to school. I’m not saying that these are bad things to do (except the unconscious consumerism), but should these people who are only doing the same thing over and over again be getting more points than people who are branching out and trying new things. Not to diss anyone but.....

4) I know some people would not use this, but personally, I would love to be able to track my negative impact as well to get a perspective of net impact, if it’s positive or negative. These would be things like buying something new that was probably cheaper than it should’ve been (as opposed to second hand or fair trade), tracking waste that I produce, every time I charge my phone/computer/ etc since that uses lots of energy, adding gas to my car, eating meat (measures by type and ounces/ grams), cheese, or eggs, forgetting my reusable bag/ cup/ silverware/ etc.. A little bit like having your own earth overshoot day

5) I think it would be cool if there was a section that taught about conscious consumerism, activism, the waste cycle, from production to landfill, fair trade, organic farming practices, palm oil and deforestation, renewable energy, fossil fuels, and the list goes on!
******I believe that educating people is the biggest impact that ANY of us can have!!!******

Anyways, this was a veeeeeeeerrrrrry long review, but I hope the developers see this and continue to improve the app. This is a GREAT app idea, but has room for improvement, just like all of us!!!

### 3/5 — Decent

*2019-08-27, version 4.2.9*

I know from experience that saving flushes is awful. It makes the bathroom smell like pee. It stains the toilet bowl. For the love of humanity, FLUSH THE TOILET

### 4/5 — Great but needs to be more location friendly

*2019-04-23, version 4.2.9*

I recently discovered this app and have fallen in love with it but would love it even more if things such as seasonal actions were suited to my location! Same with adjusting my energy usage in my personal settings by allowing me to put in my post code for my country

### 4/5 — Love this app but I need more

*2018-11-17, version 4.2.9*

I love this app and use it as much as I can remember but I would find it so much more user friendly if there was an apple watch capability to make buzzing actions easier

### 5/5 — This app rocks!!

*2018-04-20, version 4.2.8*

Joulebug is tons of fun and great for the planet too.

### 5/5 — Absolutely LOVE this app!

*2015-05-01, version 3.2.2*

Great app! Makes staying green fun and interesting. I would suggest an update to allow you to delete a post if you post something twice on accident though! I am super ocd so that bothers me, other than that, this app is perfectly amazing in every way!!!

### 5/5 — Amazing 😀❤️

*2015-04-27, version 3.2.2*

Makes me want to change the world! Would recommend to everyone.

### 5/5 — 💙💜💙❤️💋💋

*2015-04-20, version 3.2.2*

It's really the big go green thing you know it's AWSOME

### 5/5 — I like it

*2015-04-18, version 3.2.2*

It is pretty good for earth's day. 😀

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Faulty app

*2022-01-08, version 6.1.9*

I hate this app. I used to love it, but after winning one of their challenges I emailed them to receive my prize (which the instructions say to do) and they never sent my prize or got in touch with me.

### 1/5 — App won’t load

*2019-08-28, version 4.2.9*

When I first opened it, I answered some preliminary questions, and then it wouldn’t load no matter how many times I closed out of the app and opened it up or used different wi-fi.

### 1/5 — Welcome video for whites only?

*2019-04-20, version 4.2.9*

It’s a big world and you guys obviously only interact with your only white people. I hear there’s good money in marketing to your kind but not sure sustainability is it. Maybe target practice or sheep shagging?

### 1/5 — Türkçe olsun

*2018-04-25, version 4.2.9*

Keşke dilimize de çevrilmiş olsa..

### 1/5 — Facebook login

*2014-04-23, version 3.0*

Unfortunately only will let you log in via Facebook. Don't use Facebook and don't want to. Needs to fixed for more social services.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2014-04-22, version 3.0*

This is not a fun game

### 1/5 — This app is a troll

*2014-03-19, version 2.4*

What is this. This is a lie

### 2/5 — really bad bugs

*2023-12-26, version 6.2.0*

just downloaded and really like the concept but I literally can’t use it because every time I buzz it closes the app

### 2/5 — Dead app

*2023-12-10, version 6.2.0*

No more monthly challenges, and actions haven’t been added or updated. No one seems to be using it anymore. It was fun while it lasted.

### 2/5 — No boys allowed??

*2014-04-26, version 3.0*

The sleep in treehouse challenge says "no boys allowed". Bit creepy.

Also, earning badges is too easy, and what's the point if you earn all of them in one day?

Not impressed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fun!

*2020-08-10, version 4.2.11*

I really like seeing an estimated tally of how much of a difference buzzed actions save over time. The challenges can be fun too. It’s great to see others and the ideas they come up with. I definitely recommend!

I do have one suggestion: can the developers update the book and movie options? There are so many great books and films that are educational and inspiring about the environment and sustainability. Please add more to the lists for each action, thanks!

### 5/5 — Great

*2020-05-11, version 4.2.11*

I would recommend this app to so many people it is really helpful and I feel as if I am doing something for the planet and people recognise it.

### 5/5 — Nice App

*2019-12-17, version 4.2.10*

I love this app, but as other people have said:
-I wish we could delete unintentional buzzes. I’ve accidentally buzzed before without adding the picture, and couldn’t just buzz it again and add it because that wouldn’t be fair.
-I wish there were more activities, because there actually aren’t that many specific to my lifestyle, and although the custom sustainable action is nice, i wish there were more activities with the specific numbers of waste/water/co2 saving specific to it
-I wish we could favorite activities we do a lot, and categorize ones that are impossible for us somewhere else so they don’t clog up all the others.

### 5/5 — Simply Amazing

*2019-08-26, version 4.2.9*

This is the first time I’m writing a review. As a media student passionated about climate change and the available solutions, this is a pure gem. Will definitely recommend ! It’s easy to use and it finally gives everyone an idea on how much energy we are saving/spending.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-08-17, version 4.2.9*

This app is really motivating to get you to help the environment.

### 5/5 — Literally so much fun

*2019-05-01, version 4.2.9*

I adore this app! I really hope more people join in on the fun. Would love even more sustainable choices to buzz!!

### 5/5 — Love this!!

*2019-04-24, version 4.2.9*

I just discovered this app today, and I absolutely love it! It’s fun, it’s easy, and it’s mission is wonderful. But only 18 people have rated this? Where are all of the users? I found this app on Apples “Apps we’re loving.” Surely more than 18 people would have caught on?

And the last update was a year ago. Hopefully they pick up again, because I’d love to see some new actions or challenges. I know there are active users on this, but more than 2 challenges would be really nice.

Lovely app, though! I don’t usually write reviews, but I decided to express my thoughts.

### 5/5 — Fun and intriguing; suggestions for updates

*2018-10-23, version 4.2.9*

This is a great way to really see how much we can have an impact on the environment (and our wallets) by being involved in sustainable actions. I do have a couple suggestions for possible updates for the app, though: 1) I wish we could mark activities with a star or heart and send them to a “My Habits” section/ folder as easy access for the ones we do the most. 2) I also wish we could label activities into a “Least Used” folder, because for example at this point there are some that I just cannot do, and I think it’d be nice if those activities were set into a folder on their own away from the rest. 3) I would love to have to option to label and put activities into a “To-Do List” or “Goals” section, which I think would make it easier to visually see which objectives you aim to do next. 4) Finally, it would be great if the app users had the option to submit their own ideas for new sustainability actions (I like that we can add our own with the “sustainable action” tab, but I mean more along the lines of actually sending it to the app managers to determine if they can add that new activity to the full list of actions)

### 5/5 — Fun environmental impact tracking

*2018-07-29, version 4.2.9*

Who knew tracking your positive environmental impacts could actually be fun and competitive? I don’t think I’ve ever written an app review before but I’m very passionate about the ideas behind this app and it’s so incredibly well made! I’m surprised more people don’t know about this app. You just click a button any time you complete one of the eco-friendly activities like using a reusable water bottle instead of plastic, buy local produce, recycle, or volunteer and the app tracks your impact in areas like waste reduction and water saved. You can add photos and comments and join local competitions. Amazed by this app!

### 5/5 — Love it sooo much!

*2018-05-30, version 4.2.9*

This is the best app I have ever gotten, however, no one really knows about it so I recommend advertising it!
