### 5/5 — I enjoy reading the paper with this app.

*2022-05-17, version 3.6.05*

I like the way the app works to move around as I read the paper. I like the flexibility to zoom in and out as needed. I have tried the other app but I don't like it.

### 5/5 — Great APP

*2022-04-09, version 3.6.05*

I loved getting the paper delivered but realized I wasn’t reading it all. This is a great way to get the paper like feel without all of the waste. Worked through a lot of tech issues and the APP works perfectly.

### 5/5 — Excellent coverage

*2022-04-04, version 3.6.05*

I use this app nearly every day. I feel the reporting is timely and in depth. Fair and reliable. Credibility is key especially in these times. The app is intuitive and easy to use. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Take the J/S with us

*2022-03-15, version 3.6.05*

We are retired and enjoy travel. Being able to download the newspaper anywhere we are is great. We especially like the print edition. It is
Much better than the NYT replica edition.

### 5/5 — Yaaaayyyyy!

*2022-02-17, version 3.5.05*

I like to read the paper with breakfast but never finish before it’s time to leave for work. Now, I’m able to finish reading the paper while on the bus to work. No more finishing the paper while nodding off in bed and the news is old.

### 4/5 — Good on the road

*2022-02-08, version 3.5.05*

We prefer having the newspaper at home, when we are traveling it’s a convenient way to keep up on the local news. We use the iPad for reading, the phone is difficult for us.

### 5/5 — Informative Online Newspaper

*2022-02-04, version 3.5.05*

Love the ease of reading The Journal Sentinel online. It is readily accessible. It is also great to be able to share news stories with family who live in other parts of the USA. Overall a very nice app but does quit or freeze sometimes.

### 5/5 — Great

*2022-01-28, version 3.5.05*

I was getting the paper delivered on wed and Sun but decided
To cancel and when I called they offered me digital editions daily and I’m really enjoying it plus I don’t have paper to throw away

### 5/5 — JS online delivers

*2022-01-04, version 3.5.05*

I now prefer the electronic version of the paper. It is always available when I’m ready to read it and I don’t need to recycle it when I’m finished.

### 5/5 — Pleasant way to enjoy the news.

*2021-12-25, version 3.5.05*

Great way to read the newspaper and still be able to refer to older issues. A+++

### 5/5 — Great Wisconsin coverage

*2021-12-15, version 3.5.05*

The Journal does an excellent job of covering news from around the state of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and its suburbs. Being greatly interested in politics and the courts, I look forward to article s written by Bice and Velmetti. The Bice column offers great investigative journalism into the activities of Wisconsin politicians, and Velmetti gives excellent details about court cases in Milwaukee and around the state.

### 4/5 — JS App good way to read paper

*2021-11-04, version 3.2.43*

This app is easy to navigate and get to content. The list of sections appears in a window on the right side of the screen with the content on the left. Easy to navigate a different section and page.

The limit in this is that both left and right windows are equal size - reducing the navigation window by a third and adding that space to the content size of the left would make it easier to read on smaller electronic devices.

Overall, a useful and user-friendly app.🙂

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — Usability deteriorating

*2022-08-21, version 3.6.13*

Each revision seems to get worse on the iPhone there is undesirable zooming and cutting off of half the page when zooming out. iPad is a bit more usable but has been having trouble downloading new editions ( 3 retries). Web version on the pc has annoying grey full page pop overs that must be dismissed
They need to take a look at the Guardian and emulate it’s usability

### 3/5 — Some sections missing

*2022-08-14, version 3.6.13*

Lately some sections are missing and/or jumbled. In particular, the home section is consistently out of order and completely missing content especially in the section listing recent sales. Please fix.

### 3/5 — Typical Big Media Newspaper

*2022-03-12, version 3.6.05*

The MJS continues to decline. It is hard to believe with all the new technology that the MJS can not print current articles, especially in the Sports Section. In most cases, if the game is an evening
event, it takes two days before the story on it is published. Old news by then.

You only need to read the first two paragraphs in a political article to see the one-sided liberal view. Like all major media, when liberals lie, big media hides. Many years ago, news media had the reputation of being the “watch dogs” over politics. Now big media attacks conservatives and parses every sentence to criticize the conservative. However, when covering a liberal, big media does everything possible to twist or ignore what the liberal says to make them look good. Many of the reporter’s articles should be printed on the editorial page, since they are one-sided opinion written.

The Obituaries in the MJS must be laid out by a staff member that does not understand alphabetic order. I expect this staff member fails at doing crossword puzzles and takes their frustration out on the layout of the Obituary Section.

It is obvious that the MJS does not understand their reader base. Circulation numbers continue to drop and the MJS sits on its thumbs.

### 3/5 — Decent Newspaper App

*2021-11-23, version 3.5.05*

We were early adopters of this app, so I’ve been using for over a decade. For the most part the app works well. The print and images are sharp and clear. I don’t have mountains for newspapers to recycle, and the paper is always available early in the morning no matter what the weather.

The app has issues for me though.
1. The button to turn the page is immediately next to a column of other controls. About half the time, when I want to turn the page, I end up hitting the button for ‘edition’ instead. It’s very annoying.
2. The puzzles can’t be worked in this app, so crosswords or any puzzle I want to work on has to be printed. Often the puzzles pixelate when printed and become too blurry to use. Or sometimes the crosswords won’t print on a single page. I wish someone would address this.

The app looses one whole star for me because of the minimalist content. There just isn’t enough there! The local and business reporting is skimpy. There is no calendar of events except Friday. Years ago the events in the Friday paper filled an entire page. Now it’s less than a quarter of a page. The free newspapers at the grocery store have far better events listings. There are almost no reviews of plays, classical concerts, art installations, new buildings. I think that the lack of content weakens the Journal Sentinel and the app. There is more going on in Milwaukee besides Bucks games.

### 3/5 — App is fine. Support is atrocious

*2021-08-18, version 3.2.43*

The app works fine when it works. No complaints. Every once in a while, it does not work and the newspaper apparently has closed their customer service department. You can contact them, but they will never respond. The problem is compounded because the app at times will stop working and you will get a cryptic message that makes no sense. The customer service part is disappointing because it definitely stains an otherwise good app.

### 3/5 — Multiple subscriptions deserve discount

*2021-01-03, version 3.2.43*

I subscribe to Milwaukee Journal, Sheboygan Press, and Door County Advocate. You have a ton of repeat articles. I feel deserve a 25% discount. 2 of three electronic form so my cost to you is 0. I will look over future dropping one or more of these so your income will be 0 if you do not consider discount.

### 4/5 — Online version easy to read

*2022-09-29, version 3.6.13*

The online version of the app is usually user friendly. I’ve noticed recently, that the article doe not continue, and I have to search through several pages to find the rest of the article. Can you fix that??

### 4/5 — A wish for the timing of 10-15 years ago

*2022-08-22, version 3.6.13*

I like JS but since USATODAY took over it’s become yesterday’s news a day late. Particularly in sports most daily papers have yesterdays scores and event detail today Journal-Sentinel won’t have that information until two days after it happened When I was a kid I had a Journal paper route and the Sentinel was a separate competing paper. I delivered the Journal everyday to my customers but I read the Sentinel to get current news and sports. I don’t know if you can delay your press by two hours so it’s current in the morning , but if you can it would be appreciated. I realize in the digital world you can update throughout the day and I do subscribe to your alerts. So, as the day goes on I ultimately receive even more than in the past. I still hope your first morning digital edition could be more current than it is. Otherwise, I’ve been enjoying the Journal for 73 years

### 4/5 — Much improved

*2022-07-20, version 3.6.13*

They have improved this app. So far the latest version doesn’t have the bugs of the previous. I no longer have the issue of having to log back in. Keep it up.

### 4/5 — Email articles

*2022-07-16, version 3.6.13*

The MJS feature to email specific articles no longer functions when using an iPad.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Convenient…access when traveling!

*2023-07-02*

Have been reading JS online for years! Looks just like a newspaper page, take along when traveling to stay up to date on news, less expensive that receiving a paper copy, always available when you want to read…no waiting for a delivery! Plus we do our small part to save the environment and eliminate paper waste.

### 5/5 — Having the Milwaukee JS

*2023-05-26*

I enjoy starting the day with the paper as does my wife. We subscribe to the daily paper. The easy to use app allows us to “take the paper with us” as we travel. More importantly, read the same sections simultaneously without waiting. Thanks for an easy to use, simple app.

### 5/5 — Daily ‘Paper’

*2023-05-12*

I hated to give up the print edition but did so because of cost. As an old timer, reading the paper was always the way to start the morning. The best was the Sunday edition. Alas, I have gotten used to reading on my tablet. I do like being able to go back and read earlier editions and I appreciate not having the paper clutter.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2023-02-04, version 3.6.13*

I’m enjoying this app it’s easy to load and use when compared to the Madison paper app.

### 5/5 — Reading MJS Online

*2023-01-09, version 3.6.13*

I am a 70 year old who has always enjoyed reading the paper. I delivered newspapers when I was young and have subscribed to at least a dozen different papers in six states depending upon where I lived and worked. Recently, I switched from the print edition to the electronic version. I love it! Especially not having to go out to the mailbox on these single digit winter days. It easier and faster to read. The ability to increase the font size is a plus for us old folks. The Greensheet and the comics are easy to navigate and can individually be brought to the front. All in all, I now prefer the e-print edition. Joe Beaupre Glendale

### 5/5 — Journal a wonderful App

*2022-10-19, version 3.6.13*

So easy to use and handy to take along on a tablet, I-Pad or computer. It beats the pages of a paper so smooth and flowing from story to story.

### 5/5 — Convenient & User Friendly

*2022-10-03, version 3.6.13*

Easy to use with great features. A great way to keep up with the news.

### 5/5 — Another option

*2022-08-21, version 3.6.13*

When the hard copy of the Milwaukee Journal isn’t delivered timely or not at at all to my apartment building for whatever reason, I have another option to see the digital copy on my I-Phone 12. A great new technology in our fast pace society today. Glad to have this option.

### 5/5 — Milwaukee Journal /Sentinel

*2022-07-14, version 3.6.13*

The ability to navigate this daily newspaper is so easy! And its content has been very good not only with local news but non-local as well.

### 5/5 — JS on-line

*2022-06-28, version 3.6.13*

The new format for JS on-line is excellent! Two choices are given, and the one I like the best is more like reading a real newspaper. The quality of writing in this newspaper is top notch!
