I’ve tried most of the packing list apps in the App Store. From simple to more full featured. They were either unintuitive, lacking in features, too complex, or just downright ugly. journeybot is the unicorn packing list app I’ve been looking for. Gorgeous looking. Amazing feature set. Highly intuitive and makes use of all the latest iOS capabilities like widgets and Siri. And of course it supports AI packing lists, simplifying packing list creation and eliminating packing stress. And to top things off, the developer has been incredibly responsive to support questions and feature requests.

For those who like using packing list, JouneyBot makes the process more polished and updated with ai templates, simple tap to cross off the list. Found the weather and map piece a nice touch. 

Would love the app to branch out into untested waters of points management. Flight tracking and management.

This app is pretty incredible!

I was looking for a simple packing app only to find myself amazed by what this app is capable of.

Once you fill out some personal preference details, AI generates a custom packing list based on those preferences.  It’s pretty darn accurate, and, you can further customize it to your heart’s content.

The interface is beautiful, well thought out, and highly customizable.  You can even have packing reminders pushed to your device.

By far, this is the most advanced packing apps I have seen and I urge you, at all costs, to give this app at least a free trial.

Performance improvements
Opening a journey and scrolling through its details is quicker now. journeybot loads what it needs up front instead of looking it up again and again, so the app stays responsive while you browse and pack.

Check your iCloud sync status in Settings
Settings now shows whether your journeys are syncing with iCloud. If syncing isn't available, journeybot tells you what to check, so you'll know right away if you're signed out or iCloud access is turned off.

Separate backgrounds for Light and Dark modes
Choose one background for Light mode and another for Dark mode: sunny by day, moodier at night. Switch between them in Settings. Dark mode uses your current background until you choose a new one.

Import a packing list you already have
Paste a checklist from Notes, pick a file from Files or another app, or bring in a spreadsheet as CSV. journeybot groups the items into categories and lets you review everything before it's added, so you can drop what you don't need. Anything you'd already checked off arrives packed.

Categories that match how you pack
Add your own packing categories and manage them from a journey's packing list or from a template. Rename them, change the icon, merge, reorder, or delete. Touch and hold a category's header right in the list for the same options. Imported items go into the categories you already use instead of piling into new ones.

Also in this release
Your medications list now sorts alphabetically as it grows. Touch and hold a category's header to mark everything in it as packed. And picking a destination now opens transport selection right away, so it's easier to set the right one from the start.

Keep the screen on while you pack
The packing list menu has a new Keep Screen Awake switch that stops the display from locking, so you can set your phone down between items without the screen going dark. It's off by default, and once you turn it on it applies to every journey's packing list.

Ask when your next trip starts, what's left to pack, or whether you need a plug adapter. You can create a journey, add items to a packing list, and check them off just by asking. Every action is in the Shortcuts app too, ready to drop into your own automations.

Journeys in Spotlight
Search for a trip by name or destination from the Home Screen and go straight to it.

Boarding pass widgets
The journey widget is now a boarding pass in your trip's color, with a countdown stub and packing progress. Siri's answer cards match it.

The currency converter is now free for everyone. Launch is quicker, and Siri and the widget now pick the trip you're actually on.

This update also polishes the Home Screen widgets: the countdown on the small widget fits properly, text on the large widget is no longer tinted orange, and the medium widget has roomier margins.
