It is significantly easier to use than my previous photo book app that I used to chronicle my kids and print books for them each year as keepsakes. But these are my wishes: Allow a post to be added to multiple journals at once. Right now it’s a single select for journal but it would make my process so much easier if it was a multi select. I make a journal book for each kid and at least 50+% of entries are shared between kids. Eventually I’d like to make a general travel book, more aligned to this apps original goal and being able to add to all albums at once would be great. As an avid traveler of the United States, I wish we had state stamps AND country stamps. It would make this page more interesting for those that don’t do as much international travel. When you live in NC and travel to Hawaii or Alaska, it’s a big deal! National Parks would also be an amazing addition. Text only entries. I want to save kid quotes or text focused pages but right now will need to find placeholder images for those funny moments. I can’t wait to see what my first printed books look like! It would be nice to known what’s actually been updated, corrected or otherwise changed. ### 2/5 — Support Lacking *2025-09-12, version 11.4.0* I’ve enjoyed using this app for journaling our travels for several years - even upgrade to the Premium version. Having a problem backing up my most recent journal to Dropbox. Support is very slow to respond. Looking for another option for future trips. Disappointing Journi’s support isn’t more responsive. ### 2/5 — Journi is NOT user friendly *2025-07-13, version 11.0.0* I tried the Journi app on my phone and don’t find it intuitive at all! It’s WAY too tiny to maneuver on your phone and the app is not fully functional on my computer. I ended up designing my book on my iPad. When I went to order I almost lost a whole days worth of work as it didn’t save that last draft! I will stick w Mixbooks site for creating photobooks! ### 4/5 — Fantastic for recording your travel memories *2025-04-23, version 10.8.0* I love this app for travel journaling. It’s easy to use. I run into the letter limits sometimes but that’s not necessarily a bad thing plus you can always create a second post. My only complaint about this app is that you can’t include links in the post. It would be nice if I could include links to websites or articles about the places I’ve visited, or even to music I heard on the trip. ### 4/5 — Search Function *2024-12-25* I like the layout and design of this app, however, to my surprise, the search function (by key words) doesn't work although there is a search box. Any idea how to fix it? ### 4/5 — Super app pour le voyage et le quotidien ! *2024-11-10* J’adore cette appli que j’ai découverte à l’occasion d’un voyage au bout du monde, et qui m’a permis de partager mon aventure avec mes proches sans passer par les réseaux sociaux ! Au retour, quelle joie aussi de pouvoir imprimer directement son album souvenir ! J’utilise Journi maintenant pour tous mes voyages et aussi pour mon journal quotidien. J’ai mis 4 étoiles parce qu’il me manque une fonction de calendrier, qui permettrait de retrouver ses posts par date plus rapidement. Eigentlich nur weil ich damit angefangen hab und meine Reisen alle hier verewigt habe. Ich find die App auch ganz ok, das wars aber auch schon… Der Unterschied zur Premiumversion ist so gering, dass sich das nicht lohnt, was ja irgendwie gut ist (hatte ich, macht für mich keinen Sinn). Mich stört total, dass man keine Videos hochladen kann!!! Und wenn ich Bildschirmfotos mache, zbsp um Strecken hochzuladen, such ich jedes Mal verzweifelt um dann wieder zu checken, aaahhh, anderer Ordner, nicht bei „alle Bilder“. Das nervt! Ich weiß nicht wie es seit dem Update ist, vorher hat es mir hochgeladene Bilder frankioniert und ich musste bei allen händisch dann die Zeit anpassen, damit mein Beitrag wieder zusammen ist und nicht in 10 Einzelbildern 🤯 ich würde einzeln hochladen, würde ich das wollen. Vermutlich, laut der Beschreibung des Updates, ist das noch schlimmer.. seh ich dann nächste Woche. Nachtrag: das ist wirklich besser geworden !!! Kein Problem mehr, vorher war das nervig, jetzt voll ok so!! Aber, was mich grade wirklich stört: ich hab keine Freunde, die die App nutzen, die fahren ja nicht mal in Urlaub. Ich würde aber ganz gerne mal andere Journis lesen, vor allem von Orten, an die ich fahre. Früher hat man auch öffentliche Journis gefunden. Das geht nicht mehr… Jetzt überleg ich echt, ob ich nach 7 Jahren und 17 Journis doch zu „find penguin“ gehe. Das Anlegen meiner neuen Reise hat mich auch gefrustet, bis ich gefunden hab wo man eine Neue anlegt vergingen bestimmt 10 Minuten und 500x falsch klicken. Also alles in Allem wart ihr noch nie die Besten, aber ihr baut leider ab, statt besser zu werden… **Developer response:** Danke für dein Feedback! Love it so far, however pity we can’t upload videos or screenshots… Also I travelled by ferry (not aeroplane) and could not include the ferry trip. Maybe things that could be added? It does almost all the things I want in a travelogue, except for video support - which I hope is coming very soon! **Developer response:** Indeed! This feature is already being developed and hopefully we can release it soon ;) ### 3/5 — Used to be great *2024-07-27* I loved Journi- from what I knew, it was the best free journal app which you could put photos and text in! I got friends and family to get it, and encouraged my auntie to use it! Unfortunately a few months ago, the design changed and phots were not longer organised into frames like two side by side, one large and two small next to it on top of each other, one large and three small on the side. Now it’s rounded edges and squares and long scrolls to get to the next post (feels like it’s trying to be modern but it’s achieved that feel at the expense of the app’s simple charm and frustrations in design and photo arrangement). No more of the max 4 and then it goes to 3+ photos, which I actually preferred. Furthermore, I can’t even find how to delete photos from my posts if I accidentally added a photo! I really wish we could return to the past version with it’s simple design and with that simple design comes it’s charm. Elle deviendra mon application préférée: 1- Il manque une fonctionnalité très importante !! Lorsqu’on est sur la vue « carte » il est impossible de voir notre position actuelle par rapport au moments enregistrés. Pourtant lorsqu’on choisis un lieu il est possible de voir notre position actuelle en rond bleu. Pouvez vous inclure cette fonctionnalité dans la vue « carte » car cela fait toute la différence et rends l’application inutilisable dans le cas d’un parcours d’un guide par exemple !!! On ne sait pas où on se situe !! 2- Aussi s’il vous plaît une vue carte directement sans passer par la vue timeline ?? Une option pour choisir ou sauvegarder le dernier choix …Cette application a du potentiel pour les guides ou les photographes ! La possibilité de mettre des photos la rend bien meilleur que maps ou n’importe quel concurrent Ces deux correctifs améliorerait grandement l’application 3- facultatif: la possibilité de rendre invisible plusieurs repère d’un coup par catégorie (imaginons que je veuille faire visiter que les endroits type vue panoramique ou faire uniquement des photos de familles) pouvoir cacher par catégorie changerai tout. 4- facultatif : sur un même repère je souhaite pouvoir créer plusieurs « album ». « Famille,amie,couple…. » ceci n’est pas possible car je suis obligé de mettre un repère à côté sauf que le principe du repère c’est la position exact …. This app is excellent! I loved it. I was able to do a daily update using photos and text about our day. Your f&f will need the app but this is easy to do. You have 1000 characters per entry and a lot of photos. Some times videos longer than 30 seconds struggled to be uploaded but they may have sorted this. Uploading screenshots can also be an issue. The map feature is excellent and lets you see your travels as is the ability to ensure each post is logged with a destination. This felt like a really personal ‘blog’ and I only wish I had more trips which I could blog about on here. The best thing is that I can create a photo album in no time and just work on it day by day. Off line access was super handy. Also allows you to attach date, time, place, and even tag with what kind of post (activity, accommodation, transportation, relax, etc) and emoji!
