### 2/5 — Meh

*2019-11-05, version 2.4.26*

Have had this app for about 10 minutes so far. Downloaded it after seeing an ad for $1 boba. I joined a “run” and after seeing the fee, I decided I wasn’t interested anymore. However, through the app it didn’t look like I was part of any open run, so I left it alone. Since then, I’ve gotten two notifications on my apple watch saying I needed to place my order soon because the runner was going to order. I still don’t see where I can leave/cancel the group I was part of.

### 5/5 — Best app ever

*2019-04-12, version 2.4.11*

I’ve been doing runs for over two years & working with JoyRun for over a year. JoyRun has helped me in many ways! It’s convenient. You can run on your own time! It can take a while to get adjusted to but once you get the hang of it, it’s almost crazy not to take advantage! I love the app! I love how when I’m working, there is someone on support to talk to, especially if I’m running late at night. The app is a great tool if you want to make extra money, & I’m so glad to have discovered it!!

### 5/5 — Great customer service! Great side gig!

*2019-04-04, version 2.4.9*

I love the using this app! I can work in between classes and get bonus money whenever I reach a certain amount of points. That is on top of the money and tips that I earn from each run. It’s fun getting to know people in town and I love being able to order food when I don’t have time to pick it up myself because of classes.
The live chat support team is really helpful too. I’ve never had a problem that hasn’t been solved within three minutes thanks to these guys.

I love the customer service and I love the app!

I absolutely adore this app and think everyone on the college campus should get it!

### 5/5 — Very convenient

*2019-03-19, version 2.4.9*

I work in Redwood City and they gave me a flyer coming off the Caltrain a couple times so I tried it out. Surprisingly I had no issues getting my $1 boba and then ended up getting $1 samosas and ordering ahead my lunch the next few days. It was very easy to use and they actually don’t sneak in hidden fees like postmates. Highly recommend especially if you’re working tough hours, makes things so convenient

### 2/5 — Runners take hours to deliver food

*2018-12-04, version 2.3.1*

Not only do runners charge $5 for delivery, most of the time I’m waiting for my food for hours even if the ETA is 30 minutes. I can’t ever get McDonald’s because the food is always cold when it arrives. The fact that five people can order from one runner in one trip is a terrible idea. You have to wait for the other customers to have their food delivered. They don’t deliver to your door either, which should be required with $5 fees. This app could be great, but it needs a ton of improvements.

### 2/5 — So expensive

*2018-11-27, version 2.3.0*

Great app, but the reason I give 3 stars is because a lot of the deals I get notified for don’t work. For example, I got a notification saying order today to get free delivery off your next order, but when I ordered the price was the same. I don’t even think they have a delivery fee. Also the running fees are very expensive!!!! Some people charge $5! That shouldn’t even be an option imo. Also the prices they list on the app are not the actual prices of the restaurant. They raise it a good amount

### 5/5 — Great for SAHP!

*2018-11-18, version 2.3.0*

I’m a SAHM on a base where the app is available.
Being as military spouse where you always have to work around your spouse’s schedule, it’s usually hard to find work.
But I’m so thankful I found this app since I’m able to bring my kid with me and do runs on my own time. I can pick up mobile orders or go through the drive thru and then drive to deliver all with my kid and I never leaving the vehicle. 👍👌👩‍👧

### 2/5 — Use it once and get annoyed for the rest of your life

*2018-10-30, version 2.2.0*

The service itself works fairly well, the rate could be a bit cheaper and the menus aren’t always up to date.
The worst part about this app though is if you try running once you will get multiple daily notifications about how you could make so much money... they get really annoying and never stop no matter what you do until you delete the app. I’d say re-download it every time you want to use it

### 3/5 — Great app, some major navigation flaws

*2018-10-28, version 2.2.0*

It would be nice for runners if you could swipe through pages labeled "requests", "runs", and "orders delivered". If you don't tap a request as soon as it scrolls across your notifications, then it takes forever to find the request in a sea of mixed runs and requests. There was a nice visual update but no changes in navigation or added functionality. Purely cosmetic. Also, requesters should be able to request from runs already up easily. Too many people request new runs for restaurants that already have runs up waiting to be filled.

### 3/5 — notifications are the biggest issue

*2018-10-03, version 2.1.1*

to start off- I use this app probably more than I should, and I enjoy using it. My problem with it is that the app send out SO many notifications anytime anyone in your area wants food, and the longest you can “turn off” these notifications for is a week. The only notifications I want from this are ones that are specific to my order alone.

### 5/5 — There is no going back

*2018-09-03, version 2.0.2*

JoyRun comes at food delivery with a very unique angle. I can get food delivered to me in a quick and timely manner from a member of the community, and it’s very convenient for ordering ahead on days I get coffee for the office. It handles the money collection so I don’t have collect individually from all of the coworkers I’m buying for, and I can even set a small delivery fee so I profit a little bit on my coffee runs. Everybody should download this app.

### 5/5 — Fortune Favors friends who do favors

*2018-08-27, version 2.0.0*

That saying is never more true than with the JoyRun app! Coordinate errands and food runs for free for friends, or set a small fee and make a few bucks. It's totally different than any other gig app because you're in control of everything. App is super fast, it notifies you when stuff is happening, and their support is right in there with you. I love it!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t even contact your delivery person…

*2022-10-28, version 2.7.8*

I’m in San antonio and downloaded this app after seeing tik tok ad. My first order I placed went terribly. Waited for about 2 hours, saw that it said my order has “arrived”. Didn’t make sense because I requested them to meet me and I would sign for my delivery. I called the delivery person but they wouldn’t answer and I couldn’t even message them either. There’s no way to message them in the app. I ended up calling the Joyrun support. They didn’t even have the number of the driver and had to ask me what their number was. They were unable to get in contact with them and just said they can’t really do anything. The next day my order was cancelled which I’m glad about. But it’s a pretty disorganized company I wouldn’t recommend.

### 1/5 — don’t have drivers info

*2022-09-28, version 2.7.8*

so, this is my first time ordering joyrun, i place my order it gives me a projected delivery time. the order then says “delayed” with no explanation. 20 minutes later it says it’s been picked up and then 2 minutes goes past and it’s marked “delivered”. i call the driver she sends it’s to voicemail. Call the help desk and they tell me they don’t have info on the driver so they can just refund the money n give promo? so you don’t have info on the driver are they not gonna be punished? so lame never using again.

### 1/5 — Terrible UI and customer service

*2020-02-19, version 2.4.41*

Great idea but terrible execution. Every time I refer my coworkers to use the app I have to PHYSICALLY show them how it works or else no one gets it. There’s two options to order food one is delivery and one is meetup at some location. The design looks the same for both and I was misled into ordering from people’s office meetups multiple times. There’s nowhere on the screen that tells you if you’re looking at a meetup or delivery. They send you notifications to join people’s OFFICE runs for some reason and ask for your delivery address when they are NOT DELIVERING. This confusion happened to me and coworkers many times and when I request for a refund the customer support Marco refuse to provide a refund and blamed the user for being confused by the app. Why would I purposely pay for something and not get it? I would give it more chance to improve the design and keep using it but it’s a terrible business if they blame the customer. Delete it and don’t waste your time and money.

### 1/5 — Terrible UI

*2019-06-04, version 2.4.14*

Was trying to use JoyRun based off a promotion they were doing at a location tea shop and the UI was terrible. We didn’t know how to use the app and when i clicked the “continue” button, it placed my order!! The button should be “place order” or something along those lines. I assumed the continue meant that it’s going to take you to a screen to review your order. This is ridiculous and no other app places your order until you can review it.

Immediately, I called the shop to cancel the order and they said I had to go through JoyRun. JoyRun was unable to help and said I have to cancel through Teaspoon so I was on a wild goose chase. Then it was telling me that my order has been picked up and I haven’t even left the office yet. Terrible app experience and customer service.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother. Stay away.

*2019-03-23, version 2.4.9*

I worked for Joyrun and quit after a week. It was hard to try to help promote a company I so did not believe in. It is SO not worth it to be a runner. The company makes you charge only $2 per run, and they also don’t want you to be “overwhelmed” so you make max $6-10 per run that takes 30-45min just to drop the food off at all these different locations regardless how far they are from each other. They don’t let you choose to drop off food in one area. It is just kind of ridiculous if you don’t drive a Prius. Not worth it considering gas and time and carrying all these bags of foods/drinks.
The company is also extremely disorganized behind the scenes. They put no thought into the people they bring on to the team, and the higher ups don’t see this. I can’t believe they chose some of the people they did to put in charge.
I have also ordered from Joyrun and the food takes 2 hours to come and you have no control over what a stranger is doing to your food before you receive it. I ordered fries once and literally had 3 French fries. Another time there was a bite in my sandwich.
The company needs to figure out a way to reward the runners so that it is worth it to run and so they have more of an incentive to do it in a timely, respectful manner.

### 1/5 — Cold food always, no ETA

*2019-02-11, version 2.4.4*

Runners can get your food and show up whenever they want regardless of the ETA time. I’ve ordered 17 meals so far and probably only 2 of them haven’t been cold. My food is ALWAYS COLD, and it takes hours to get it. Runners are unapologetic, and they forget things for my runs, I never get my sauce either. I order food at 2, they order at the restaurant at 3:30 and I don’t get it till 4. Cold, cold, cold! 😡 I’ll change my review once the people in charge fix this issue of runners getting to take as much time as they want. Give me a 30minutes or your money back, then I’ll be happy.

### 1/5 — No quality control

*2018-11-17, version 2.3.0*

This app's biggest problem is that there is no quality control. I had ordered McDonalds and the runner missed some of my items. He not only charged me 5 dollars for the almost two hour service, but also didn't offer any fall back option and simply blamed it on McDonald's. If they do not punish runners for their mistakes, runners can just use your money to buy themselves things and there's nothing that you can do about it. There is no complaint or refund button for this. I try to take to an in app representative and the response time is about 20min for each reply. Even after solution offered, you don't get any notification to say that if there is a refund. They just say they put it in and that was from another rep. Absolutely no consistency and no quality control. HORRIBLE!

### 1/5 — terrible customer support

*2018-09-17, version 2.0.5*

If I were able to, I’d give this app less than a star. Customer support will not help you at all if your runner is terrible - I had the same runner for the first two runs and both experiences were awful. The first time, I waited over an hour only for the runner to tell me that the store closed by then. The second time, I waited two hours and a half for my order. When I contacted customer support, policy was that you won’t be reimbursed if you receive the food - it doesn’t matter if your food is hours late. If you can, stick to Ubereats or some app where they actually care about the happiness of customers.

### 1/5 — Great concept, terrible design

*2018-02-24, version 1.1.64*

This app is garbage. I don’t care what anyone else says because my husband and my friends have it too and it has the same problems for them. This isn’t just my single personal experience. It is so glitchy and constantly won’t even let me open the app, cancels my orders by signing me out, etc. Once you have an order that has been picked up and the runner messages you, there’s no way to open the chat other than by scrolling through the newsfeed and finding your order, which can be tough because there could be several other orders in front of it. The concept is amazing and the runners in my area are great but the design team really failed on this app. I’m surprised they released it with this many problems. I’ll continue to use it because of the service but I hate how hard it is to use!

### 1/5 — Only one way to sign in??

*2018-01-09, version 1.1.61*

This app seems great based on the reviews especially for a freshman in college such as my self. The problem is that I can't even use it because the only way to sign in is through Facebook. Not everyone has a Facebook so there should be a way to register with an email address. Not a smart move for an upstart business you would think they would get as many people as possible to try out their app but anyone who doesn't have a Facebook can't even use this aspp

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Need to improve but not bad!

*2022-11-07, version 2.8.1*

This is a great app and great alternative to UberEats or DoorDash especially to find some more local spots. I will say the top 2 things that need to be improved are the drivers ETA so I’m not guessing when they’ll arrive. Possibly a tracker like other apps provide. The other thing is please please please add an option to add tip after delivery. I sometimes am hesitant to tip a good amount before delivery but after seeing that they did a great job and/or went above my expectations delivering to me, I would like the option to add more onto their tip! Thank you

### 5/5 — People don’t know how to use this app!!!

*2020-10-18, version 2.4.48*

I don’t know why so many people have something bad to say! I’m a runner for over a year now and I’m making a good living by just working a couple hours per week. Maybe it depends on the location but I spoke to other runners in my area and one of them made over $70k in one year! JoyRun is the best thing that happen to me. You work your own hours and schedule and no one can tell you anything! If you don’t have patience or can’t figure out how to use this app and you think you can only make $2 in 30-45 min then please stay off this app because you obviously don’t have a clue how to use it correctly!!

### 5/5 — False information on bad reviews

*2019-11-22, version 2.4.29*

Whoever said that this app forced her to charge $2 a delivery, that is false. I have worked for JoyRun for over a year and that has never been the case. If it wasn’t for this app I would not have been able to pay bills last year while I was in between jobs. It is a great app that cares about its customers, it’s runners, and it’s communities!

### 5/5 — Best food delivery app

*2019-10-16, version 2.4.25*

I love the JoyRun app not only because it is great for making extra money on the side as a student, but because it is a community based app. I like the idea of getting rewarded for getting other people their orders. It is very practical. I also like how payment goes directly through the app instead of the continuous venmoing and trying to figure out how to split the payment. Overall a great app and highly recommend it!

### 5/5 — Save time & money!!

*2019-09-23, version 2.4.23*

I love this app! I’ve only been using it for two weeks but I’ve already saved SO much money on food! It’s not your ordinary food delivery app which I love! I’ve never been a fan of delivery apps bc I don’t trust people that much. But I do love that you can order ahead and skip the line. It really saves you time especially if you’re in a rush! Also, if you “open up your run” you can allow others to order through you & you all save money! I’ve already put my coworkers onto this app which makes doing food runs easier! Everyone eats & everyone saves! Def recommend downloading & using JoyRun if you want to save time & money!

### 5/5 — Saves Time & so much Money!

*2019-09-20, version 2.4.23*

Really love this app! You can order ahead so you skip the line and it’s already paid for on your phone. When you open your order to co-workers, friends, or even anyone in your office building, each person gets their order discounted $2-$4 and there’s no need to Venmo each other because each person has already paid through their own JoyRun app! It also takes the third party out of a delivery service because members in your community are the ones bringing you what you asked for (ranging from a restaurant order to even batteries etc...) Truly an awesome idea. Has already saved me so much time and money. Plus I’ve met really cool people when I’ve ran for their orders.

### 5/5 — BEST FOOD DELIVERY APP EVER

*2019-07-10, version 2.4.17*

this is one of best food delivery apps I have used and trust me, I’ve used many. I was so happy that I was not being charged for delivery fees and service fees (as a college student, I am able to save a lot of money with JoyRun as opposed to other apps). The app really helps build the community and offers great promotions. I would 10/10 recommend. I have gotten all my friends to download

### 5/5 — GREAT CONCEPT - Crowdsource Everything!

*2019-06-24, version 2.4.16*

I usually don’t write reviews for this stuff, but this is a company that obviously had a lot of hoops to jump through to get to where they are today and I appreciate that they are taking their time to roll out new things properly.

Loving the extra cash, employee yourself when convenient to you, crowd sharing, etc... piece of this. The fees are super reasonable and service is predictable.

Please roll out in SF!

### 5/5 — Makes Life EASY!!!

*2019-06-17, version 2.4.15*

The title says it all. I’ve used this app in so many ways. Whether it’s to get a car wash, have food delivered, or even make a few extra bucks, Joyrun is user friendly and making large strides towards the future. Give them a try! They’re launching in San Francisco soon and it’s going to be a whole new world of convenience

### 5/5 — Great for ordering or being a running

*2019-05-03, version 2.4.12*

I have ordered with JoyRun and have worked with JoyRun for a semester and I can say it was great. While being a runner and working with JoyRun I made over $1000 in just one semester with this being my “side hustle” it was very well worth it. I encourage people to be a runner if they need to make some more extra money besides their regular job!(University of Alabama campus)
