All of the mini-games are essentially identical. The DLC might help, but at nearly $30 I’m not going to find that out. Still, it looks good and little kids might be diverted for awhile. **Developer response:** We heard you and listened! There’s new versions of the jungle creatures and plants, that are harder to beat and a limit on the cards you can draw. There are more changes in-game and I really think you should check it out! Let us know what you think! ### 3/5 — New level of boredom unlocked *2023-02-12* The most high production digital board game I’ve seen is a while is unfortunately also the most boring, mindless game I’ve ever played. I found myself pining for the single player game to end. It was excruciating. I did appreciate the team cooperation elements. And freeing each other repeatedly from vines, which got a bit old after a while. Ultimately deleted it after really trying to like it. Animations and feeling of anticipation were great. But the gameplay itself was slow, repetitive nonsense. And having to constantly swipe to the target for each card was the last straw for me. Too bad. Maybe by speeding up gameplay rhythm, adding a tap mechanic alternative to replace swiping, adding a rules sheet, and making the game more than some endless parlour trick mini game would help. The aesthetics are great. But not enough to keep me. Not aimed at gamers but at kids I guess. Also confusing that, unlike their other titles, it’s not based on a physical board game. The existing physical Jumanji board games are completely different. And universally panned. ### 3/5 — License game that doesn’t use licensed music from the movie. *2022-04-03* It’s a decent game but probably the most disappointing aspect of it is that it doesn’t use any music from the movie, which is incredible, the music in the game is rather forgettable and generic. I don’t understand why, when given the license to use every aspect of a movie, but you choose not to use the music, in this regard the game is a letdown. **Developer response:** Hi ArcadeJedi! Some times I only get to roll 3 or 4 times and then the game is over. If there were more x spots on the board that you could go to, than that would be excellent! Animations move along at a good pace, and since the last time I dropped in the characters have been given more expressive faces & features — dead-eyed no more, as at launch. I love how you try to implement the riddles into the actual game but mine seems to be like either extremely glitchy or you are just really stupid because the riddles instead of appearing as actual words appear as thick pink glitchy blocks I’d like you to think about that my second issue is that you shouldn’t be forced to do single player first I think you should have freedom to do whatever you want first and that’s my review other than that it’s really good **Developer response:** Hi! It is similar to the physical board game (released back when the first movie was made) except for the mini games (that I can remember anyways). The mini games are basically the same, wish there was a bit more variety for those portions. I’m addition, some of the threats that appear can be seen more then once, such as the monkeys etc; I feel like the threats should only be made once per game as it would give a more nod to the movie but not a deal breaker. You can choose between single player, multiplayer, or online; all of which is an awesome addition especially when you live far apart from family and friends. One suggestion… *2024-07-09* Overall, great game. Graphics, new riddles, co-op gameplay, difficulty select, all of those are pretty great. I do suggest adding the spider riddle from the original movie, and making them weak to axes, also kind of like in the original. The riddle goes, “Need a hand? Why, you just wait. A good Jumanji game, AND it has Van Pelt? Like the original, real, awesome handsome one? Yes please! This freakin game saved my life while I was on a 6 hour flight, where normally I’d be feelin sick as a dog. 11/10 would download again. I have been plying this since December of last year and it’s one of my favorite mobile games of all time. I do have a gameplay idea that may have been thrown around in the reviews, I just haven’t looked at all of them. One of the most terrifying events of the movie was knowing Allen was stuck in jumanji for 26 years. What if, now this is a big if. If there was a gameplay element where you got the “In the jungle you must wait, until the dice read five or eight” riddle. When that happens there is an animation of the player getting sucked into the jungle through the board game. That player would then be trapped there until the end of the game or someone rolled a 5 or 8. While in the jungle you were fighting off jungle animals the ENTIRE time until you can escape. It’s just an idea. If the developers read this, thank you for taking your time to read this, and the game is still awesome even if that feature does not get included.
