I placed an order, paid for services, and eagerly anticipated the delivery. However, to my dismay, the service was canceled without any reasonable explanation. What's more disheartening is the lack of alternatives provided. Instead, I was informed that a refund would be initiated within 3-7 days. Imagine the inconvenience of being left without the service I paid for and no clear resolution in sight. This situation becomes even more critical when considering that, for some users, this might be their last bit of money. What if this was the dinner they were looking forward to, and now they are left hungry and without alternatives? Customer service should not just be about processing transactions but also about understanding and addressing the real-life impact of these transactions on individuals. This experience has left me questioning the reliability of the Jumia app and its commitment to customer satisfaction. After about 5mins after the funds was transfer and my payment was completed, then Jumia show a message to me on the app that my Order cancelled. The shocking thing when I spoke with the customer care representative is that, she told me my order was canceled because they couldn’t validate my payment😱 A completed transfer couldn’t be validated??😱🤦‍♂️ And I was told to wait for 24hr for my money to be transferred by to my Profile in their app. Till now I haven’t received anything. Rider made me go get mobile money to complete payment *2023-06-03* So I don’t live near the town and when I made an order on Jumia for food, it wouldn’t accept my payment was denied. That’s ok. There’s other apps I could have used, however before I could complete my purchase on another app - Glovo, which doesn’t give me grief - a Jumia rep called me and assured me that my purchase could still go through if I was willing to send the money to their rider. When the rider brought my food he wouldn’t let me send the money to him and I had to go through the inconvenience of leaving my premises to go find money to pay the rider. I’m deleting the app after this since my payments don’t go through anyway. It was a nice app at the beginning, though. I was even impressed with the rep who called me immediately after my purchase failed to go through. I just was unhappy with the effort I had to make to pay them. Goodbye. ### 1/5 — Complain *2023-02-14, version 6.2.3* I ordered food from this restaurant called Owanbe Cuisine Restaurant here on this app and they brought me food without meat inside while i fully paid for everything including the meat , I trashed this food now with hunger and anger , the annoying thing is I can’t even contact customer service or call the vendor just the rider and he said they refused to take his call . Make sure they’re out of this app because I’ve ordered food from them Before 18k and they brought the wrong food for me with less quality . I canceled an order after 2 hours of waiting for it. 15 minutes later a driver showed up with food that was not even close to what I ordered and literally screamed at me until I paid him. I’ve written several emails to Jumia and they have done NOTHING. This is not an isolated incident. Save yourself money and headache and go with one of the competitors. ### 1/5 — Terrible service, terrible app, terrible riders *2023-01-28, version 6.2.3* I wouldn’t advice anyone to make use of this app. They have one of the worse customer service and their riders are extremely rude and unprofessional, just today one has dissappeared with my order after trying to play games with me. There’s no option on the app to speak with a direct customer care who can call things in order before it escalates. On the app there is no form of contact us apart from the BOT chat!!! How can a bot chat handle a missing order?????? Lastly they will ask you to send an email if you have an issue, EMAIL??? IN Nigeria. For an urgent delivery issue. Very wrong and bad, what happened to live lines and all that??? Extremely disappointed ### 1/5 — Glass in my food *2022-11-10, version 5.9.7* I found glass while I was chewing my food, I was in shock as I was about to swallow it. I came forward to Jumia food’s customer service and they handled it so poorly they didn’t take the whole situation seriously and it felt as if they are used to customers finding glass in their food. Glass is one of the most deadliest items you could find in your food and yet Jumia did not even care and they sent me a voucher telling me i could only purchase again from that same restaurant.
