Big fan! ### 5/5 — Best Uber alternative ever *2025-09-10* Simple and straight forward. Hail any local taxi. Pay only after you ride just as if you hailed h the cab on the street. It’s still early days - but app works very well, it’s bare bones which I like and have not had a bad experience after 30+ uses. The driver should not be adding £2 booking fee, as it works like a street hail. In a previous review it mentioned driver cancelling. This also happens on other apps . Could be for various reasons usually heavy traffic . As for coverage it’s in about 7000 London taxis already so I would say it has the most black Taxis on its system. As a Taxi driver I’m more likely to accept a booking from Jump than an app that charges me 20%. And also charges passengers fees . Let’s not let big corporations take our hard earned money and let’s all Jump on Jump ! ### 5/5 — Booking fee *2025-06-15, version 1.5* There are NO EXTRA booking fee charges when using this app. If the driver has added any extras simply inform him Jump’s policy is not to charge a booking fee. Alternatively if you don’t wish to confront the driver call JUMP and they will refund the charge ### 4/5 — Good but hidden charges apply *2025-06-03, version 1.5* I used Jump for the first time today after it got recommended to me by my cab driver last night. I was pleased with the speed it found me a cab but do note that there is a £2 surcharge added onto the meter fare if booking through this app which makes it basically the same as Gett but without the convenience of paying via a saved card as you do on Gett. I’ll keep the app on my phone as a decent alternative but probably not my first choice. ### 5/5 — Great app and hope it continues as it’s started *2025-05-09, version 1.5* I’ve started using the app this week, multiple times a day. Works well and means I’m not walking around looking for a cab on quieter streets. Unlike other Black Taxi apps, Jumps doesn’t apply additional fees to the passenger or the driver, one driver told me Jump make their money from the card transaction fees. Also the price is simple - no extra fees, just what you would pay if you hailed the taxi in the street. Driver can claim you put in something else and cheat you easily. ### 1/5 — Worst experience *2026-03-02, version 1.6* Linked me with the worst cab driver I’ve ever had. He drove 10mph on a 50mph road, almost crashed several times, on his phone constantly, took a “shortcut” that amounted a 20 minute detour to take us 200m up the road by needlessly going round the back of Euston and made a bunch of racist comments about other drivers. The journey should have cost £40 but ended up costing £105. Go with literally any other app this is not the one. ### 1/5 — Overcharged due to app issue *2026-01-27, version 1.6* I just had a ride with a cab driver that did not know London. Jump taxi was not able to recognise the address/school I set as destination of my journey. Support confirmed the name of the school was correct, the address they have was wrong. At the beginning of the journey I explained to the cab driver that the address in the app was wrong - 2 km away from the real one I got overcharged at least 10 pound extra and jump taxi support told me that despite they have admitted via email that their app was faulty it is not their problem. Well done. 1 star ### 1/5 — Would not recommend *2025-12-19, version 1.6* The app is not user friendly. You can’t see where you’re going and it consistently gets my address wrong if I enter the post code. I am a regular Cab user, and this app has a small coverage , a few drivers have told me this app is not available to all London Taxi drivers, so jobs won’t get covered when busy. A good idea but pointless., if not available to all Taxi drivers. ### 1/5 — A flawed model *2025-05-29, version 1.5* This app fails because there’s no commitment… A cabbie can accept the booking, but change their mind on their way to collect, and you have to start again… Tried the app today, and had this repeat 4 times. When you try to type in the address, it always gives me the wrong option. Black cab drivers are very impressive in their knowledge of monuments, attractions, streets and hospitality as they require years of training to be cab drivers. Other transport companies are not recommended unfortunately as there are no required years of training to navigate the complex roads of London and earn the accomplishment of being a black cab driver. All our drivers had been living in London many years and offered amazing insight and cool stories of England. Safety was never a concern and prices were decent for big city travel and avoiding public transportation.
