### 3/5 — Less tactics than other Ironhide games

One of the fun bits of the kingdom rush series was the tactical use of upgrades during gameplay. This could also develop into single weapon strategies if carefully deployed. (All snipers? Sure. Magic only? Absolutely. Only towers that convert enemies into allies? Bring it on.)

Junkworld has none of this aspect of game play available. It limits the number of towers available. It doesn’t allow upgrades during gameplay. It only allows the use of specials over a few waves with no strategic building of capabilities. About the ONLY thing that’s new that I like is the ability to re-position towers between waves. 

Oh well.

This game is very similar to Kingdom Rush, but instead of a medieval fantasy setting, it has a post apocalyptic setting. The big difference is that you can choose where to place the towers freeform, instead of being limited to predesignated spots. This makes the gameplay slightly more challenging in an enjoyable way. As always, the gameplay is well thought out, and the art style is exceptionally cool.

I own and love all your other games. This one however has a lot of funky bugs, most of which are ignorable. BUT. Psychopolis 43 “Queue Lifeline” crashes 100% of the time on wave 4. iPad Pro, fully updated, tried about ten times. Was 5 stars up to then, but obviously it’s unplayable as is so…deleted until fixed

В игре много прикольных моментов и много есть интересных элементов, например что башни можно ставить почти где угодно или что всякой поддержки типа авиаударов и подкреплений стало больше и у них есть выбор.
Но есть и откровенно плохие моменты.
Зачем давать башням уровни как герою? Это моя главная претензия. На поздних этапах вы можете столкнуться с ситуацией, когда ваши прокаченные башни просто не могут отбить волну и как их не переставляй то все равно ничего не будет. Ну так возьми другие да? Только вот проблема теперь будет обороняться подходящими башнями околонулевого уровня что закономерно гарантирует вам поражение. Просто гениально. То есть мне теперь нужно гриндить уровни на этих башнях чтобы пройти один уровень.
Большинство башен просто представляют собой красивые постройки. Разрабы попытались их все сделать уникальными но большинство из них просто неиграбельны. Ну и тут встает еще один момент. Скорее всего вы довольно быстро поймете это и начнете качать башни которые эффективны. Как итог вас скорее всего ждет встреча с предъявой чуть выше.
Ну и в довесок еще скажу что система из KR с их апгрейдами была намного честнее и понятнее. Поставил одну башню и замаксил ее и она может сделать половину работы. Причем практически любая башня была такой. Теперь же я даже не понимаю зачем мне тратить канистры с бензином потому что дополнительные способности башни просто не нужны, если они прямо не увеличивают урон башни или юнитов или же не добавляют как кибермалышам возможности для атаки (одна из самых полезных башен в принципе по совокупности возможностей).

Ну и после всего этого мы поняли что башни слабые. Ну так есть подкрепления. И игра превращается в сплошной спам подкреплений. Мне это просто не нравится. Раньше подкрепления нужны были точечно и не всегда, чтобы быстро заделать бреши обороны и выкрутится из неожиданной ситуации. А теперь они у вас постоянно на кд, потому что без них просто никак не задержать и никак не убить никого.
Последние уровни в принципе через чур сложные из-за перекрученных врагов-инвизы, дальние атаки, две жизни, огромная скорость(реально огромная скорость некоторых юнитов). Игра превратилась из интересной головоломки и стратегии в спам подкреплений против перекрученных врагов(которых еще могут вывалить пачкой по 10 на одну линию. Порой на экране врагов 50+(!)

Я уверен, что есть люди которые проходили до конца и я бы тоже смог, но сложность сильно перевешивает мой интерес пройти дальше, потому что дальше только еще хуже и тупее.

Альянс был лучше практически во всем. Возможно разработчики хотели чего-то нового в жанре, который они фактически возглавляют. Но не все новое- это лучшее.

Weirdly a lot of hate in the reviews but I think it’s because people expected a KR clone. The devs branched out a bit in a fresh way. It’s not perfect but it’s actually pretty fun and challenging in its own right. There are lots of towers and support tactics and plenty of heroes and everything comes with two abilities that you can upgrade. You can’t place towers during waves so you need to plan ahead but the tradeoff is you can move and upgrade towers in between waves very easily. It’s different, it’s fun. It’s solid.
