They are constantly improving and updating and helping end-users, and they really take suggestions seriously and try to incorporate into each new version. It’s been a God-send for helping with songwriting and gigging/open mics. Only reason I gave it only 5 stars is because I couldn’t give 10! 👍🏽👍🏽 **Developer response:** Awesome feedback, thank you! ❤️ ### 5/5 — Amazing! *2026-02-06, version 9.18* As someone who was tired of any software that’s subscription based, especially subscription tiers… I found this app and it’s amazing. It does everything you need and more. Free and no ads. It’s really is amazing, I’ve been using it for all my gigs for a good while now with zero regrets. I use sheet music and just chords and for both I find it works brilliantly. Editing them. Changing the key. Putting them in set lists. It has the best scroll feature by you putting in a time duration for the song. Increasing font size. Putting font in bold. It’s everything and all that you will ever need! ### 5/5 — Fantastic app *2026-01-21, version 9.16* This is exactly what a music chart app should be. Zero complaints (unless you’re using an older iPad. Not all the features will be available). I actually upgraded my device for the app, so that says a lot. ### 5/5 — Awesome app *2026-01-12* This is an awesome lyrics and chord app. Does so much more than that also but it’s the first app I’ve used that if you need features added or notice bugs the developer responds quite quickly to address any issues and seems to be constantly improving to the users needs. Been in between different apps for playing music trying to find one that will check all the boxes and pretty set on this one and no subscriptions or cost to it! Die Titel laufen nur noch bis zur hälfte durch und dann bleibt sie stehen. Doing a sound check about 2 hours before my gig, JustChords wouldn’t load ANY songs from my library, would only show tracks from my latest setlist. Emailed the publisher/owner for help and in spite of many many emails back and forth, never found the cause or solution. He kept coming back to sync problems with iCloud, but I have never used iCloud have it’s been shut off on all my devices for literally years. Luckily, the problem showed up in time for me to print out all the charts I needed so I went “Legacy” for the gig. If this happened immediately before or during a gig, I’d be dead. I have removed JC from all my devices and will go back to searching for something I can rely on. 2 stars for the quick response and effort of Marek… ### 2/5 — app crashes when trying to import songs *2026-01-26, version 9.16* When I try and import a song from an online source the app crashes quite often. When I reopen the app and repeat the attempt it works....very frustrating and time wasting. ### 3/5 — Nice app, but added extra import step in 8.6 *2025-02-11* It is a very nice app. Works well. However, after the 8.6 update, receiving a shared file on iPad displays “Open with JustChords” feature, but has only “Close” button, not Save. So, you have to, first, save a file to a folder and, then, use “add a new song from file” step from the app menu to import a song. In the previous version, after receiving a shared (via Airdrop) file, you could just click a Save button and be done. **Developer response:** Thank you for your review! This will be very helpful for my church. One little bug I can't figure out... when adding the details for the song that can go on the bottom of the page (composer, etc.), the first time I exported a PDF that information was included. Now when I try exporting a PDF, that kind of information doesn't appear on the page. I can't figure out why. (1) tagging system logic is different from any other system I’ve ever seen. Normally you filter by tag, so if you select only “covers” all the songs tagged “covers” come up. Not so with just chords. Here if the song has any other tags, it’s excluded when the other tags are unchecked. I’d love to understand this choice, but moreso I’d love the option for it to work normally with tags. Not useful now. (2) control s does not save on iPad or desktop. ??? Otherwise great for writing and good for performing. Song import options are wonderful. Just need functional tags. **Developer response:** Thank you. Filtering by tags works like you describe it—try searching in All Songs or use the "By Tags" view. The special feature you describe was developed for a different purpose—to hide songs with specific tags (e.g., to hide Christmas songs by tags). I literally had zero complaints, everything was great but recently it’s stopped letting me pinch zoom in. Really frustrating as I can no longer use it. Really hoping it’s a bug and is fixed soon! Other than this recent problem I can’t speak highly enough about JustChords ### 4/5 — Great app… no manual *2025-10-07* In many ways, this app is easier to use than OnSong. It appears to have many features but no documentation. When I tried to follow the Discord invite to see if there is any documentation or manual there, I got an invalid address error. I was looking for information about the sharing function — would members of my team using JustChords get the setlist intact including the charts? If so, what happens if the others already have a song with the same title. I’m sure if the Discord community were accessible when I tried, odd questions like these would be quickly answered. It looks like the app is well developed and frequently updated with new features. FINALLY I discovered JustChords and it gives me EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for in a tabs / chords app… JUST THE CHORDS! It’s even in the name! It also loads as a plugin in my DAW on iPad so no more switch apps. I’m grateful that it’s not subscription based as well. Best app for tab/chords I’ve seen yet. I found JustChords by chance and have been extremely happy with it. It works every bit as well as the original OnSong app and better in some circumstances. The app is constantly getting quality of life updates and has significantly improved over the last year and a half that I’ve been using it. There’s a a link within the app to a very lengthy list of items that have been improved upon; are in the process of being improved upon and are planned for future versions. The developer has also been very responsive to inquiries in the rare times that I’ve needed to reach out on something. If you get the app and like it, do give these guys a tip from time to time. I feel the amount of work that’s constantly being done definitely warrants a few bucks. Simple to navigate, easy to edit and not overly heavy with 100 different options. I lead music for my church and all of our iPads use this app. It’s COMPLETELY FREE for one, which is hard to find lol. And secondly it keeps ALL of my songs in order and it lets me transpose the key. Also I play piano and it will show you the chords and stuff, or if your like me and don’t need that than you can turn it off. I’m just trying to let y’all know about this app cause I read these reviews to see if it’ll be good and PRAISE THE LORD it is!!!!! It’s always had some weird quirks and did many things that I just wasn’t interested in. JustChords has been a fantastic app for me and has replaced on song without a problem. The fact that all my devices sync easily. The fact that you can easily search for a song and imported.
