## What is Justdown?

Justdown is a markdown note-taking app built for Japanese language learners.

  - Aozora Bunko / Pixiv notation: 漢字《かんじ》 renders as ruby text over the kanji
  - Use the vertical bar to mark the base explicitly
  - Standard HTML ruby tags are also supported for pasted content
  - Quotation marks 「」『』 are never touched, so you can write natural Japanese freely

  MARKDOWN EDITOR
  - Live preview with GitHub-flavored markdown: headings, lists, tables, quotes
  - Syntax-highlighted code blocks (light and dark themes)
  - Keyboard toolbar for one-tap input of furigana brackets, headings, bold, and code blocks,
so you never fight the Japanese keyboard for special characters

  BUILT FOR STUDYING
  - Table of contents panel: jump to any heading instantly
  - In-note search with match count, working in both editor and preview
  - Full-text search across all notes
  - Auto-save as you type

  PRIVATE BY DESIGN
  - All notes are stored locally on your device
  - No account, no ads, no analytics, no network access

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.4 — 2026-09-27

• Fixed the preview jumping to the top when tapping the header buttons (あ, Search, Contents) on iOS 27.
  • Fixed the あ button overlapping the Preview tab on smaller screens such as iPhone SE.

### 1.1.3 — 2026-09-26

• Fixed search field text and cursor appearing in light colors in Dark Mode.
• Fixed a brief white flash when launching the app in Dark Mode.
• Hide furigana per note: tap あ at the top of Preview to hide or show the readings in each note. Hidden readings keep their space so your place never shifts, and each note remembers its own setting.
• Stability improvements.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-09-09

This update improves saving reliability.

• Notes save correctly even after clearing and retyping
• Typing while a note is still loading no longer overwrites its content
• Your latest edits are no longer lost if the app closes unexpectedly
• Editor text stays readable after switching themes on iPad

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-06

• iPad support — in landscape, notes list and editor appear side by side in a two-pane layout
• New app languages — Japanese and English, following your system language automatically
• Preview now keeps its scroll position when switching between light and dark mode
• Stability improvements and minor bug fixes

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-04

Minor improvements and stability fixes.
