### 5/5 — Love it!

*2023-04-09, version 1.69.5*

The app is great and so helpful in my process of learning to help myself feel better.

### 5/5 — Well designed!

*2023-04-05, version 1.69.5*

I have wanted to use biofeedback for years, but never had the opportunity to learn it. This clear and simple app is genius. I can’t attest yet to changes in migraine intensity or frequency, but gaining a sense of “management” offer my personal biology is so very welcome.

### 5/5 — So far, so good

*2023-03-29, version 1.69.5*

I’m pretty new to the app, but so far the interface is pretty intuitive and easy to use. It seems to work well and it’s pretty cool that this treatment is achievable with a smart phone. There’s also a lot of supplementary information to look through for educational purposes. It is a big app and takes up quite a lot of storage on my phone, and does eat through my battery life quickly (I have an older phone so this may not be as much of an issue on newer devices). I also thought the intro videos were useful and informative.

### 5/5 — First time with biofeedback

*2023-03-28, version 1.69.5*

I’m learning this is a little different than just meditating. It takes work but it seems the effort is worth it. I’m only in the beginning and I know this is going to make a difference with my migraines and pain. It does seem to be helping with my migraines.

### 5/5 — Great tool to have at home

*2023-03-25, version 1.69.5*

I’ve always wanted to try biofeedback to help improve my chronic migraine condition. This app makes it easy and accessible. I’m still working on getting the optimal set up for the most accurate HR readings, but in each of the sessions I’ve done, I’ve been able to focus on moving the green bar towards the relaxation side. I’ve only been using it for a week but look forward to seeing what effect it has on my migraines and stress levels generally in the weeks and months to come.

The customer support they offer is impressive. The company really wants to make sure you get the most out of the app. I’m impressed.

### 5/5 — Excellent and disruptive app!

*2023-03-21, version 1.69.5*

Great tool to integrate migraine and stress reduction. And the best thing is that you do not need medications (and their side effects) to achieve this.

### 5/5 — Chronic migraine

*2023-03-19, version 1.69.5*

I’m excited to try Juva for my chronic migraine! I have read so much about biofeedback and how it can reduce pain in chronic conditions. I love that it only requires my phone to do a session.

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2023-03-19, version 1.69.5*

This app is a game changer for me. Accessible bio feedback at my finger tips! I have been using it daily and I know it’s helping my nervous system and eventually should lead to migraine and anxiety reduction

### 5/5 — Professional biofeedback for migraine

*2023-03-18, version 1.69.5*

I am a physical therapist and I have used a very complex biofeedback program in clinic with patients. This program is just as complex but much simpler to navigate and more user friendly. And, it does not require coming into a clinic! I have migraines and have recently begun using JUVA for biofeedback relaxation training. The scientific evidence is very good in supporting the use of biofeedback relaxation training as a complementary, non medicine intervention for migraine. Years ago I used biofeedback for TMJ syndrome and it changed my life. The JUVA app is a gift to migraine sufferers so by all means take advantage of having this technology in the palm of your hands.

### 5/5 — Lots of tools

*2023-03-13, version 1.69.5*

I’ve just started and see lots of techniques that I’m looking forward to learning.

### 5/5 — Cutting Edge

*2023-03-12, version 1.69.5*

This app is something truly remarkable in that it gives you immediate feedback on your breathing, pulse and state of relaxation, and how that interplays with migraine management… with multiple ways to utilize it and incorporate a strategy. I look forward to the months ahead.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Glitchy and inaccurate

*2024-11-26, version 1.77.0*

I had high hopes for this app and was looking forward to giving it a go. But I have found many of the exercises to freeze or glitch, and the breathing and heart rate measurements are not accurate. They often read much higher than they actually are. I have contacted the support several times over a few weeks but have had no response at all. Disappointed.

### 2/5 — Needs tweaking

*2025-09-23, version 1.77.0*

The concepts are sound and camera tech is good. Some of the picture exercises have confusing directions and caused me to feel frustrated which was counterproductive. I sent two emails to get help but got no response. Abondoned the effort as a result.

### 3/5 — still a little rough around the edges

*2023-04-07, version 1.69.5*

This app seems helpful for doing biofeedback and mindfulness, but so far the games haven’t worked the two times I’ve tried them, and I’m a bit skeptical that the heart rate and breath monitor are working accurately as they jump around so much during a session. I think there still might be some kinks that need to be worked out.

### 3/5 — First day needs work

*2022-09-09, version 1.69.5*

I just downloaded Juva and was excited to get started, however I found the first day’s journey aggravating. In the first exercise (21 minutes long) the first 7 minutes is a repeat of info that was just covered, and meanwhile I have to stare at my face while the biofeedback exercise hasn’t even started. That part should be a video. Then the actual session started and he said multiple times something like “by now you’ve done these exercises several times…” even though it’s the very first biofeedback session. First impressions matter and these were both a turnoff for me.

### 4/5 — Next button issue.

*2023-07-26, version 1.69.5*

This app seems great so far! One note to the developers. The ‘Next’ button at the bottom of the screen covers up the bottom 3 lines of information and there is no way to get around this. Thanks.

### 4/5 — Great so far!

*2023-06-28, version 1.69.5*

I've been using Juva as part of a larger program to manage anxiety and trauma, and the techniques it introduces have been quite helpful thus far. Echoing what other users have said, the heart rate is pretty accurate, but the breaths per minute has been somewhat inaccurate both on face mode and finger mode. Looking forward to continuing usage!

### 4/5 — Impressed, good foundation needs a bit of polish.

*2023-04-23, version 1.69.5*

I have been using various other forms of biofeedback and I am really excited to see it become *much* *more* accessible.

The pulse detection is surprisingly good, I ran it in combination with a separate HRM and they only differed by 2-4 BPM. The breath rate seems less reliable, even if I am following a steady breath pacer it jumps all other the place. I would love to see support added for bluetooth pulse HRMs like polar or even the HM ear clip (if that's possible).

Lastly there are some small bugs and flow changes that would be nice. Sometimes the puzzle games are pretty flakey. I would like to see it using calendar days rather than monotonically increasing days since sometimes I miss days, or would like to log the question for a previous day.

### 4/5 — Innovative use of technology

*2023-04-08, version 1.69.5*

Juva brings what has been known in research to be helpful for multiple conditions to an accessible format at home. As a physiologist myself, manager of a migraine clinic, and a migraine sufferer, I’m excited to use this technique to retrain my brain.

### 4/5 — Love DIY at home app

*2023-03-20, version 1.69.5*

This technology is pretty amazing. I love that I can actually experience biofeedback without going to a facility. I can use it anytime. I’m learning a lot about my body reactions, more than with meditation, which is similar, but biofeedback seems a lot more powerful when battling migraine. I just can’t use the finger method because the new iphones have multiple cameras on the back. But it’s been on using the camera on my face.

### 4/5 — Still Trying to Determine

*2023-03-14, version 1.69.5*

I have suffered from migraines since I was 10 and am in my 40’s now so of course I am skeptical. Mainly for how accurate the ‘reading’ of your BPM and HR are. But it has calmed me and I look forward to continuing this program to see if it actually reduces how often or the severity of my migraines!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very helpful for relaxation

*2026-03-18, version 1.83.0*

I have had chronic migraine for several years. I’ve been using Juva for three months and it has greatly improved my ability to relax. It has not impacted my migraine attacks (not much does), but the ability to relax on command is very helpful when I have attacks.

### 5/5 — Daily meditation app

*2024-08-30, version 1.77.0*

In addition to the helpful CBT lessons related to managing migraines, this app has a lot of really nice guided meditations. If you’re wanting to start a meditation habit and have migraines, this is a great app for you. It takes consistent, daily practice to see improvement, and definitely takes time (I’m not there yet myself), I am more in tune with my body’s response to stress, and am better equipped at managing that response through breathing techniques. Recommend for those facing general stress in addition to migraine sufferers.

### 5/5 — Great Tool for Migraines

*2024-08-16, version 1.77.0*

Been using JUVA for 3 weeks and can take down a4 migraine to a 2 without meds. For more serious migraines -5+ - use meds plus JUVA and have been able to get results. The app has a couple of bugs including the Full Module not tracking which components have been completed. But don’t let that distract you - fundamentally it’s super helpful to managing migraines. Was recommended by my migraine Dr at Mayo and they were spot on.

### 5/5 — A must for migraine

*2023-10-06, version 1.69.5*

If you have migraines, get this app!

### 5/5 — This is a very effective biofeedback app

*2023-06-26, version 1.69.5*

This is a very effective biofeedback app. I am working through it daily.

### 5/5 — Just what I was looking for

*2023-06-13, version 1.69.5*

I needed something more to control my migraine besides VT, meditation, and meds. After almost 1 month of daily use, I am seeing progress in a positive direction. Biofeedback is very interesting and seeing it happen instantaneously on the screen helps me understand how and why I can get into a more relaxed state. Thank you Juva team.

### 5/5 — Just started using the app…

*2023-05-27, version 1.69.5*

And I am loving it so far! I have hope it can really help me when medication is currently failing me.

### 5/5 — So far so good

*2023-05-01, version 1.69.5*

I’ve only been using Juva for a few weeks and I am already applying the breathing techniques to my everyday life.

### 5/5 — amazing technology

*2023-04-18, version 1.69.5*

I came upon this app in the middle of the night with a migraine that wouldn’t go away, desperately looking for some help, and learned about biofeedback. While my migraine didn’t go away entirely that night, I learned these techniques may help prevent them in the future if I make it a practice… and I practiced my breathing which actually did lessen the pain for me. I am so happy I downloaded this app!

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2023-04-13, version 1.69.5*

Great array of programs like progressive muscle relaxation
