### 4/5 — Nice compiler but one issue...

*2019-01-18, version 11.1*

I really like this app. It’s nice being able to edit a java programs on the go. However, my issue is that there is no way to actually use a scanner to input into the console. Take this into consideration before downloading!

### 4/5 — Good app

*2017-08-14*

Can be better, but it work and it's perfect for to do simple files.

### 1/5 — Can't compile without paying for it lol

*2017-02-17, version 9.4*

You have to buy something that's free on any other pc, that takes the integrity directly out of the app. I would've respected if the dev put a price on the app itself, but this is useless. Very unfortunate.

### 1/5 — Money-waster

*2016-12-26*

This junk is not free, you need to pay to run any code you type. If you want to use java, this app isn't for you, just go on a laptop or desktop, and use eclipse or something.

**Developer response:** But also you can just buy it and use as much as you want!

### 1/5 — Atrocious

*2016-08-15*

I cannot believe they will charge you for compilations. Complete d*** move. Do not install this

**Developer response:** You can buy unlimited compilations package and never pay again!

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2016-08-06*

Looks cool however you have to pay for compilations of code which is practically useless. May as well make the app cost money opposed to giving it out for free then having people buy compilations

**Developer response:** You can buy unlimited compilations and never pay again to compile your program!

### 1/5 — Stupid App

*2016-06-15*

You certainly sould not hace to pay for compiling in a compile essential language I reccommend buying a better app or using Netbeans on PC

**Developer response:** Unfortunately, we can't offer free compilations with the application.

### 3/5 — Good but

*2016-03-08, version 8.0*

You have to compile every time you want to run a program. This is annoying especially since you have to pay for compiles.

### 2/5 — App is good but

*2016-02-25, version 8.0*

The idea of the app is very good but the problem is you have to pay money to have your program be compiled. There is a option for .99 to get 100 compiles or 2.99 for unlimited. That to me just ruined the app itself

### 1/5 — Good example of how NOT to implement in-app purchases

*2015-12-13, version 7.5*

You can literally do nothing without making an IAP. It's as useful as a message field without a send button. It doesn't let you compile something even ONCE. So why make it free in the first place?

### 2/5 — Tell the truth up front

*2015-11-01, version 7.5*

This program allows you a few compile times and asks you to pay. It is not very forthcoming. I don't mind paying for an app, but don't deceive the customer...

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2015-10-19*

You even have to pay to compile....

**Developer response:** You can buy unlimited compilations package and use the application as much as you want!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2015-09-29*

Can't import libraries. Useless except for the very simplest code.

**Developer response:** Only standard libraries are supported.

### 1/5 — Won't work on iPhone 6

*2015-03-26*

Keep getting an error message in iTune when I try to sync this to my new iPhone. Real shame - handy little app

**Developer response:** Please describe your problem to support and we will help you.

### 4/5 — Jvm

*2015-03-20*

Good program to get a start with java

### 1/5 — You should say it is a paid app if it is one

*2015-02-19, version 7.0*

You can't do anything unless you buy compilations for 99¢ or unlimited for 2.99 so you might as well make the app cost 2.99 and give us free compilations. What you are doing is cheating us out of our money. That's why you have such a low rating on the App Store. The other thing you could do is make everything free, but you are obviously too stingy to do that so...

**Developer response:** The difference between paid app and free app with paid unlimited compilations is simple. It just allows you to try the application before spend money on it. That's all for your convenience!

### 1/5 — Cloudy

*2024-02-27*

This isn’t a JVM or a JDK you run on your iPad or iPhone; it’s a shell that sends files off to the cloud to be compiled and run. You have to pay for that, $0.99 for 100 compilations, or $2.99 for unlimited.

It doesn’t seem to really have files; I created a file, typed a small java program into it, saved it, and then went to the files application to find it, and it wasn’t found on my iPad.

I’ll be deleting the app soon, My hunt for an IDE for the iPad continues.

### 1/5 — Slow to compile, Slow to run, Cash grab

*2022-12-28, version 13.0*

Tried to switch to this after my old app was taken down. Major downgrade

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2019-12-31*

It’s a free app but to make it work you need to pay!!! 🤬 This is absolute rubbish. Don’t get it if you’re after a free coding app! 😡

### 1/5 — Deceptively Free

*2019-04-06, version 12.0*

I will admit that I fell for the “Bait and switch.” You need to pay $3 to compile more than one program after installing the app.

### 1/5 — Refund

*2019-03-08*

I just bought a $1.49 (100 compilations) and a $4.49 (Unlimited compilations) and it can't even run my Sum.java program. I would like a refund please.

### 1/5 — Broken Tab bar

*2019-01-16*

The tab bar does not load at all after purchasing the in app purchase. I cant switch between input output and other tabs because it just a black bar now.

### 1/5 — Greedy

*2018-02-28*

Doesn’t let you run unless you pay. Don’t male it free if you can’t even partially use it.

### 1/5 — Not worth even half star 👎

*2017-08-25*

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND DATA, Complete rubbish App.

**Developer response:** Please provide more details in your review.

### 1/5 — Only Text?

*2017-04-15*

Original Posting April 2013:

Purchased app. Programmed with java.io.* class. Works fine. Next attempted a simple Hello world with javax.swing.* Well it compiles but gives a "The program raises a runtime error" error when executed. Seems any graphics at all are out of the question. Sure would like to know prior to purchasing what java classes are supported...

April 15, 2017:

To respond to the developer, there is no input for hello the hello world swing output. As I indicated above it would have been nice to know that the app only will work with non-graphic programs otherwise you get:

Exception in thread "main" java.awt.HeadlessException:
No X11 DISPLAY variable was set, but this program performed an operation which requires it.
	at java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment.checkHeadless(GraphicsEnvironment.java:204)

**Developer response:** Please check if you entered text input on the Input screen before running the program.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2017-04-15*

Would not recommend

Update: My problem is that you have to pay just to compile it. What's the point of it then?

**Developer response:** Please explain your problem, so we could make our application even better!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2018-08-09, version 11.1*

I’m brushing up on my java for the first time in a year. Normally I’m on the computer but I’ve been more on the go and it’s perfect! Love the app, sometimes it’s a bit slow but other then that lovely. If you do or like java this is a great app to use!

### 5/5 — Wonderful and intuitive

*2017-01-10, version 9.4*

Love using it when not close to a desktop.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2015-08-03, version 7.5*

The only problems are those that are out of the developers control: technical limitations and whatnot. Besides those small issues, the app is perfect and really works really well!

### 5/5 — Great for programming on the go.

*2015-06-23, version 7.5*

The actual price is $3 for unlimited compiling, but it's well worth it. You can get a head start on any projects/labs pretty much anywhere and easily send them to your email.

### 5/5 — Wow, I'm practicing Java on the iPad!

*2014-12-19, version 7.0*

I kind of fell into this app while looking for something that I can use on the iPad to practice Java programming. I bought the full version and have not regretted the purchase once. It works very well. Earlier version was a little buggy but the latest version I have not had one issue writing compiling and running some of my basic Java programs. This is been a super helpful tool for me to use while studying for my computer science programming class.

*2014-10-03, version 6.2*

Need up date for ios 8

### 5/5 — Best programming app ever!!!

*2014-07-20, version 6.2*

### 5/5 — Great!

*2013-09-17, version 3.7*

Has all the features, etc,

Nice interface, smooth compiling.

### 5/5 — Nice app!

*2013-09-09*

Very nice app. Has java symbols in addition to iPad keyboard helping to type much more faster and easy. Compiling and running files correctly. This app does exactly what you need, if you must program and have no laptop or desktop computer with you. Strongly recommend.
