The user experience is very poor. Examples - password restrictions that do not match what is stated on the site, valid email addresses that are simply refused (company address), failure to state up front ALL the things that are required for application, and the cherry on the cake… being booted out of the site for ‘inactivity’ when actively typing information into the application. No matter what email address I use, the email verification code never arrives. And I can’t use the ask or contact feature because to make an inquiry, that requires the non-functional email verification as well. This system is a joke and a sets a bad example for Korea to the rest of the world. But it doesn’t like gmail accounts, doesn’t like my email and we were forced to use aol . I think I ended up having to login about 10 times to use the app and it’s so stupid if you have a party of three you have to fill out every single piece of the form over and over and over again I know Max is here. It was so painful. I wouldn’t wanna go to Korea. Thank you. ### 1/5 — Terrible app ever used *2026-05-16, version 1.0.26* 관계자분들 보시기 쉽게 한국어로 적습니다. 전세계 한국 방문자들이 심지어 방문 전부터 이런 어플/웹사이트를 거쳐야 한다는 것이 정말 부끄럽네요. 일개 온라인 쇼핑몰에서도 이렇게 형편없는 시스템은 본 적이 없습니다. 이틀째 시도하고 있지만 아직 eta를 완료조차 못했기 때문에 전체적인 문제점을 다 논할 수는 없지만 첫반째 관문인 인증번호입력이 이렇게 어려울 일입니까? 5분안에 입력을 해야하는데 메일이 오지를 않습니다. 가까스로 다음단계로 넘어갔는데 그 후에 어떤 정보 입력이 적합하지 않았는지 모르겠지만 다음 단계로 넘어가지도 않고 어떤 정보를 수정해야 하는지 안내도 되지 않아 도대체 뭘 어떻게 하라는 건지 모르겠네요. 다시 시도하려는데 또 인증번호 메일이 안와서 수번째 재전송 시도중에 너무 화가나서 리뷰 남깁니다. 국민들 세금 똑바로 쓰세요. 한국방문 첫이미지가 이렇다니 부끄러운 줄 아십시오. It is truly embarrassing that visitors from all over the world are required to go through an app/website like this even before visiting Korea. I have never seen such a poorly designed system, not even from a small online shopping site. I have been trying for two days and still have not even been able to complete the ETA process, so I cannot comment on every issue yet. However, is it really supposed to be this difficult just to enter a verification code? The code must be entered within five minutes, yet the email never arrives. I somehow managed to get past the next step, but after that, I could not proceed any further. I have no idea which information was entered incorrectly because there was absolutely no guidance on what needed to be fixed. I genuinely do not know what I am supposed to do. When I tried again, the verification email still would not arrive, and after repeatedly requesting the code several times, I became so frustrated that I decided to leave this review. Please use taxpayers’ money properly. The passport scans were quick and efficient. The in-app photo booth was very handy as well. Just make sure when you scan your passport to take it a little higher than the boundary until you see a confirmation. Also for the self portrait, my advice is to not wear glasses, the reflection will show if you do. Even after I’d cropped them down as small as I could, the size limit was still exceeded. After a couple google searches, it was advised I try this app instead because it sizes the pictures for you. I had initially avoided using this app after seeing all the negative reviews, but I figured I’d give it a chance to possibly spare myself some frustration. Not only was taking and uploading the pictures one and done, but the whole process was super smooth, only costed me $8, was easy to understand and I got approved in the same day. I absolutely recommend using this app instead of the website.
