The controller itself is a good controller. Unfortunately though the iPhone app and connectivity is horrible. Sometimes the app loads, sometimes it does not. When it does load, I get the ‘Syncing’ message and it’s 50/50 whether that will end with Online or not. And even if it does, it takes 5 minutes or more sometimes to Sync. Imagine an app where you wanted to turn on a light and everytime it took 5 mins for that app to sync before you could. You never use it. Come on Krain. Surely you can do better. ### 1/5 — Can’t even create an account *2023-11-24, version 2.1.5* Downloaded the app to iPhone. Every time i try to create an account there’s a server error. Saying it’s MY server. Horrible app. ### 2/5 — Terrible app! *2023-08-17, version 2.1.4* Over the years, I have used many applications. This is absolutely the worst app I have ever used. It is not intuitive, it is not user-friendly. I finally got to the point where I stopped using the app entirely and just manually set up my irrigation system. The hub took forever to hook up to my Wi-Fi, which is one of the highest rated and fastest Wi-Fi systems available. The hub continues to disconnect from the Wi-Fi about every four or five months requiring an entire reset. The system itself is not bad, but the application and the Wi-Fi interface are the worst I have ever seen in any device! I do not know why they have not addressed these issues. I would not recommend getting this system until they fix it. ### 2/5 — App is ok but needs work *2023-05-25, version 2.1.4* This app is not extremely user friendly. Doesn’t always connect, and crashes a lot. Often times I need to change things multiple times for them to actually work or I give up and go to the controller. Needs a lot of overhaul. ### 1/5 — No internet access, no response on support *2023-04-18, version 2.1.2* App is telling me that it’s not connected to the internet but Wi-Fi and cellular are on. No one responding to my issue. Can’t even create an ID. Developers need to fix this. ### 1/5 — Total Garbage *2022-07-01, version 2.1* Don’t spend the money on the WiFi transmitter. Don’t bother with this app. The app says it’s synced when it’s not. You think you have changed your sprinkler system settings but you have not. The whole process is difficult to set up. There are no online instructions provided by the manufacturer. You need to go to some other unrelated party’s website. Ask yourself, if the main unit can connect to the separately purchased WiFi unit why can’t it connect directly to my WiFi router? Answer: it’s a money grab. Learn to operate the main unit. Save yourself some frustration and possible negative consequences for your lawn. ### 3/5 — App is Buggy- Needs More Options- Still Pretty Good *2022-06-24, version 2.1* The app worked really well for a couple of months and now it’s acting up. When I toggle between screens it turns the system off. It periodically won’t save changes I made. It keeps reverting back to the old settings. I’ve logged off and back on to no avail. My last option will be a hard reset on the controller and start all over. Haven’t tried this yet. WHAT WORKS… The station test works really well. I use this weekly when working on sprinklers. I can toggle between zones and start and stop while in the yard with my phone. ( I have a really good Wifi mesh system that gives me Wifi over my 2 acres) I used to have to run back and forth to my old controller which was a huge pain. WHAT’S LACKING… I really wish that the app would show which zone is running and how much time has elapsed or has left. I think the Rainbird Wifi controller has this option. I have a 12 zone system and when I’m on my phone inside my house, I have no idea which zone is running or how long it’s been on. This would be extremely helpful if I need to shut the system down for any reason and then re-start it where it left off. I would use this option quite often. GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE…I called customer service and they guy was nice and helpful, however the app is still not working properly. I haven’t had time to call back. The tech said that if any of the settings are changed, I have to toggle to another screen or log out and log back in. This doesn’t increase confidence. 3 stars due to the problems I’ve been having with the app. Hopefully an update will work the bugs out and add the option of what zone is currently running and for how long. On a side note, I had a top of the line Hunter Wifi controller and it was awful. It was like using 1980’s tech and it almost caught on fire.
