Nothing to get in between you and your creative flow. Beautiful. Sound is rich and pairs well with anything, spoken word, synths, guitar, television news broadcasts, nature recordings, drive-through restaurant loud-speaker —yeah, anything. Using different LFO shapes, you can get it to sound like a school projector eating an educational-cartoon film-strip. Plus, the developers behind this fantastic buy are top-tier here iOS/iPadOS-land. Very special app thanks developers 🎸🎼 **Developer response:** Thank you so much for your kind review Brian - all the best! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Extreme lag and often audio delay issues and glitches *2025-10-19* Nearly a year ago, I wrote a review for this app and I at least tried to be fair with the devs. It seems that doesn't work in this world, because I tried to get help with this app crashing and nothing works. I use an iPhone 12 mini, and every time I go over 10-15 instruments with the effect, the project completely crashes and either doesn’t open, I have to back it up to EVEN edit the tracks constantly, or it LITERALLY deletes hours to even days of progress depending on the crash. I tried to reach out through email. Got 1 response and was ditched. This was in December of 2024. It's 10 months later, and it’s even worse than it was nearly a year ago. For a paid app, it gets little to no updates and it's really starting to show considering I can’t even use it properly 50% of the time anymore. Either this app was just made for higher-end devices like MacBooks, or it is so outdated that only newer iPhone models can even keep up with this nonsense. Mind you, I tried reaching out through email to get help and got nothing. This is simply ridiculous. The number of times this plugin has erased hours of my progress is almost insane, and just so you know, it really is a good plugin, and I’d love to keep using it, but the amount of whatever space is used that causes all these crashes to happen needs to be fixed. **Developer response:** Thank you very much for your review! We hope to investigate this as soon as we can. ### 2/5 — Using with audioshare *2019-09-15* I can’t get it to work with audioshare as an effect. It keeps just monitoring my mic input. Is there a way to change this? I am processing audio files at times and other times I am using audioshare to run samplr and then using the tape delay as an effect. Is there something I am missing. There is no menu option in the app to select the input. Thanks for any help in advance. **Developer response:** Hi, if using K7D as a plugin effect, the input will be defined by the host app, depending on the signal chain. ### 2/5 — Needs work. *2019-05-07* Seems like it could be awesome. I like this company so I bought it early on. If you use an interface to bring audio in, like a guitar, it accepts unbalanced signals as only one side. So your input comes through one ear, when you use a ping pong delay I hear both sides but dry signal only coming in one ear. Give the option of selecting audio inputs. Tape delay is a guitar standby I should be able to play it with one. Using Audiobus 3- digital pops and clicks as soon as it’s loaded in…. On a 2017 iPad Pro which should run several programs easily. Seems like the bugs aren’t worked out yet…. Update the app to work with Audiobus 3 and select your audio input! Kinda useless in current state. **Developer response:** Hi! It makes my music sound 100x better than if it had the plugin off, but the amount of resources this takes on my phone is unholy. Constant lag and crashes keep happening. Where are the usable delays? *2023-01-27, version 1.3.1* Still looking for a usable preset in this garbage. ### 3/5 — 2 Years Later *2022-04-18* Bought this on release and it sounds really nice, but even a single instance is quite taxing on the CPU and that can lead to audio glitches or crashes. Especially worrisome in a live performance. So it doesn’t get used often and ends up getting replaced in most of my projects unfortunately. I’m guessing from the size it’s using IRs, but I hope it can be optimized a bit! **Developer response:** Hi there, thanks for your review. My only gripe is that the iPad and iPhone versions aren’t compatible. If you work on a GarageBand session in both places and use this plugin, you’ll have to reload it on every channel when you switch platforms. Best delay on iOS sub 20 bucks. ### 5/5 — One of my FAVORITE Tape Delays hands down! *2025-11-07* I happen to see this on AppRaven (I have had this app for years) and it’s one of the BEST out there! Don’t get me wrong there are other AMAZING DEEP and VERY good sounding “Tape Delays” but this has the LOOK and FEEL one needs who grew up using 24 tape tricks to get Delays, Flange, Phase etc before all the rack mount gear and pedals and now PLUGINS! I always ask myself, if I had ALL THIS technology back when I was first learning the trade off engineering, how freaking far advanced would I be? Bc let’s face it, bf plugins, effects were big $$$ and no young musician has money! I see all the FREE lessons, all the free guitar scale and chord programs and apps… and I think MY GOD how good would I be? Then I realize, it would be the same as now, bc YES there is so many ways to learn for free… there is also so many KILLER games to play, killer things to check out, so many amazing content videos… that I being ADHD would not have as much knowledge as I have doing it “old school” **Developer response:** Thank you very much for your thoughtful review! Then I bought this app and it had various features that I hadn’t even thought about using. I tried them one by one and realised what I was missing out on. It’s Strymon Tape Delay on IOS! *2024-03-15* I totally forgot I had this amazing delay app! Then while asking around the AudioBus forum, I was referred to try this app. I actually had it already 😆 Well, if you ever dreamed of having a Strymon Timeline delay pedal but can’t afford $400 plus cash for the Tape Delay, well, this app is totally a dream come true! When you buy it, which is a no brainer, try the preset called Filtered Tripplets… you will see and hear what I mean. Total mesmerizing delay that can go on forever! Sort of like the Blackhole reverb of delays! Seriously 😳 this app is a total blessing to me. I am going to be playing my electric guitar thru this Delay on my pedalboard with ToneX in my iPhone! It just gives me those luscious buttery delays for Church Worship! I dialed back the feedback and changed the preset to Dotted 8ths and created 2 amazing user presets immediately from that filtered preset. I can recommend this delay enough! Truly is a gem waiting to be discovered! And best part, it’s backed by non other than one of the best developers on IOS!
