You have to pay something like $25 for all ai models access. For that you get a very buggy app, models dont follow instructions, deepseek as slow as 56Kbps modem, expect lots of hiccups.

if you want something to use on the side its ok but if you want something to depend on look else where for something more professional.

Kagi developers: I’ve been using the Kagi assistant via the web for a long time now. I love it. I’m happy to have a native app, but the output rendering of markdown is broken — maps links come through as ![](maps?q= instead of links, tables paste into spreadsheets as one column with spaces instead of into cells properly as they do when you use the web-based UI. Please fix for a 5-star revision =)

Läuft schnell und flüssig auf iphone und mac, aber bei beiden Versionen lassen sich Antworten nicht gut aus der App rauskopieren, wenn die Antwort länger ist als auf dem Bildschirm angezeigt wird. Man kann alles markieren klicken, aber dann wird wirklich der ganze Verlauf kopiert, was ich auch nicht brauche. Für meinen Workflow gerade noch hinderlich und deshalb benutze ich weiter den Browser

Versatile and solid app. 24 hour auto-delete on chats is a nice privacy feature. This has become my most used assistant!

It’s a non-invasive AI tuned for research, backed by Kagi’s excellent search index. Lots of models available. This has easily displaced both ChatGPT and Claude (non-code) in my personal workflow

So I have used pretty much all of the mainstream ai chat bots. Except grok. After using kagi I must say it is by far the research ai I have ever used. Even better than perplexity. Not only does it cite its sources I’ve noticed that it hallucinated significantly less. And in my experience, most of the time when it does hallucinate it’s because it’s pulling information that is outdated rather than just making something up like ChatGPT or Claude tends to do. I don’t know how it is at completing tasks and such maybe someone else can test that out but for me this is now my go to research ai.

I’m glad Kagi continues to add support to their “assistant” product, this app will allow me to continue using it with more ease. I just hope they can add connectors to my google email and calendar.

The ai doesn’t make things up even before models got improved and the ease of using custom assistants through search bar is more convenient than other chats.
