## What is KAI Robotics?

The app for KAI: The Artificial Intelligence Robot STEM Experiment Kit: Safely explore and understand AI and the future of advanced computing technology.

With the physical expeiment kit, build your own six-legged, artificial intelligence robot that moves by reacting to the gestures and sounds that you make!

There are three steps to create a functioning AI model that allows you to control your robot using poses or sounds:

1.	Collect data.
2.	Train the AI model with your data.
3.	Play with your robot using the AI model.

Collect data:
Use the app to easily collect the data you need to assign your own movements or sounds to your robot's functions, enabling it to walk, turn, and stop; explore the concept of machine learning as your AI robot learns the gestures and sounds to better perform the assigned functions.

Gesture recognition:
Choose a gesture or movement to assign to a specific function of your physical robot. For example, you can raise your right arm to trigger the "move right" function.

Sound recognition:
Choose a sound to assign to a specific function of your physcial robot. For example, you can whistle or clap to trigger the "move right" function.

Train the AI model:
The data you collected forms a dataset which is then used to create an AI model that your robot can learn from.

Play with your robot:
Now you can perform the poses or sounds you assigned to various actions and control your robot to move in specific ways!

Additionally, the app allows you to play with the robot in remote control mode:
-	Use the virtual joystick or position sensor of your phone/tablet to move your robot without utilizing any of its AI functions.
-	Tap on predetermined facial expressions to change the face on the robot’s LED display, or use the draw or text button to customize the facial expression or text that appears on the LED display.

The app has been developed to keep your data as safe and private as possible. The app works completely offline, without connection to the Internet, meaning that all calculations are made locally on your device and no image or audio data is stored by the app. This has been confirmed by an independent data protection expert.

The full functionality of the app is only available in combination with the physical KAI: The Artificial Intelligence Robot STEM Experiment Kit.

### 3/5 — Good app ok robot

*2026-08-19*

I like the robot and how it has ai and stuff but building it wasn’t bad but when ever it falls over just the surest you have to take apart almost the entire thing just to put the gears back the problem is I had too do this 2 times and now the head piece won’t close properly I’m trying my best to fix it but I’m not sure how it will go it’s either better design or make it a whole thing with out having the consumers build it because it’s easy to make big mistakes

### 1/5 — Won’t work

*2025-06-10*

Bruhhhh

### 4/5 — Bro is made of glass

*2025-05-25*

I’ll admit, this thing is really cool, but it’s so fragile. One of the pieces snapped when a pillow fell on it. Give us metal.

### 1/5 — I got this for Christmas and what a waste!!

*2025-03-22*

I spent a lot of time (also with my dad) building this and I can’t even connect it! I CANT USE IT. TEST YOUR PRODUCTS BEFORE YOU INVENT IT. the thing looks like it would be popular the manual and stuff, it looks cool but before you get the product, just don’t get it. I thought it was cool. I’m practically crying too. I did read the reviews. (They were terrible 😢) but I did it anyway. With excess time wasted. 😭 😭 u can try it but it’s not worth the wait :(
no one will see this either although U are seeing this rn but other than that, the app doesn’t work. no ads ✅!!!!! Works ❎
don’t install this app. after u buy this cuz it won’t work, Rate it 1 star 🗑️ and uninstall it IMMEDIATELY !! Would you want to waste your time? I know you would say no. And if you don’t wanna waste your time, then don’t get this app!
🧏
🙎
Have a great time instead and have fun. You can get the app when your bored or something 😑 but that’s ONNLY what I recommend. :(play your favorite games.!! Examples: Bloxd.io, Roblox, Minecraft, Fortnite, call of duty, Wordscapes, solitaire, and other FUN games!! 🤩 YALL “creators” work in ur stuff 24/7 👌
also heard some bad reviews about when u install parts wrong, it dosent work and you have to DO IT A!L!L A!G!AIN!
And it’s 50-100$ 😑 😐 BRUH 💉🕳️🌐
thank you for still reading lol 📖
This can have an impact on your time
Plus i still wish you would CARE 🤦‍♂️ WHAT A RIPOFF!!.

### 1/5 — How to control it

*2025-01-15*

I just got one and my dad’s assemble it with me and for some reason I downloaded the app but I can’t even get it on. Why can’t I get it on? I mean my mom spent like over $50 or over $100 and my dad had to spend two days the building is horrible garbage robot and it doesn’t even work. I can’t even play with it. It just stands with a face that looks like it’s dead.

### 1/5 — ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!

*2025-01-02*

IT BROKE BEFORE I EVEN FINISHED IT AND NOW I HAVE TO GO AND TAKE IT APART AND GO THROUGH ALL OF THE SUFFERING AGAIN!!!!! IF I COULD I WOULD GIVE IT A -1000 STAR REVIEW!!!

### 5/5 — Fun, if you understand what you are getting.

*2024-12-27*

This is very similar to other Thames and Kosmos builds. My 10 yr old really enjoyed the build. I helped him a bit with the fiddly bits, mostly to ensure that the wires didn’t get damaged. He was able to do 90% of it on his own. Keep in mind that the kit is 10+ and familiarity with building models kits will help a lot. The App is nice. Not overly complex and my 6yr old is able to enjoy the basic functions. My only criticism is that I am not a fan of kids toys requiring a phone/tablet. My son is too young to be asking for a phone.

### 3/5 — It’s pretty hard to assemble the robot

*2024-12-26*

But it is pretty fun to build aswell but, the Bluetooth on the robot keeps disconnecting

### 1/5 — Age 4+?? Are You Serious??

*2024-12-15*

It took a relatively intelligent adult 2 days to build this nightmare machine. It’s not even possible for a child (age 7) to even assist in assembling this. You’ll need an immense amount of patience and problem-solving skills to make these janky pieces fit together. You may also need a soldering iron to reassemble the wires that break off from the motors at the slightest touch. We did not have a tool to melt metal so we tried stripping the tips of the 3 (out of 6) wires that broke free and attempted to wrap them around the metal they’re supposed to connect to. Of course, you’ll never know if this works until the whole thing is built and you turn it on. So far I suspect the battery and the motor that makes the body spin around seem to work but the motor that makes the legs move is dead. But I can’t be sure until I read the incredibly dense set up instructions and spend another hour setting up the gestures and voice instructions to control the dang thing.

It is a testament to my self-control that I haven’t smashed this robot to pieces with a baseball bat.

### 4/5 — I don’t know how to collect data

*2024-01-14*

I’m trying to collect data in phoe mode Please tell me how to fix this.
