Now, since the update, I get no less than 5 ads when I’m just trying to see how the week will be. This is annoying af! It will be less than helpful during storms and tornadoes. Can’t see what’s coming because I have to watch 2 ads first! I’ll probably delete this one and find an app from another local station. ### 2/5 — Getting worse *2026-05-23* This used to be one of the best weather apps I’ve ever used and over the last year it just keeps getting worse. Now there are adds that pop up constantly almost every time you click any option within the app. Whoever is doing the decision making for this app only cares about advertising money and not the usability of the app. Make this app good again or I’m just going to delete it. Not very clear on warnings. You can’t even see he weather now unless you pay to remove the ads that cover the screen. Now you can’t even open the app that adds pop up back to back and you can never close the second one, son you have to force close it over and over. NONSENSE. Quit being dang greedy. ### 1/5 — Was great. Now not so much. *2026-05-26* Ads are getting horrible, to the point that when they pop up there is no way to close the ads out, the button is there but completely unresponsive. Try closing the app and re opening to only have the same thing happen. Hopefully things change. It was lacking for about a year, but now in the middle of a storm when I want to know where the tornado is I am waiting for the latest pay to play game to get off my screen. Sellouts! ### 1/5 — Ads much? *2026-05-25* As of recently, there’s a ton of full page pop-up ads every time you click on anything, it’s terrible. I have had this app for years. What a shame I’m going to have to delete it. It’s too frustrating trying to navigate it now with the constant full page pop up ads. ### 1/5 — Getting worse every month *2026-05-25* Why do I feel like this app is getting worse every month. Now you can even open the app or even touch anywhere within the app without getting hit with adds. Other people can sit in the same room and receive notifications while mine won’t even go off ever. How am I supposed to keep up with warnings when I don’t even receive them. Definitely on to a better weather app. ### 1/5 — Someone got greedy *2026-05-24* I really liked this app for local weather until they got greedy and decided to require 2 ads to open and another every time you touch the screen, even just to scroll down past the ads to see the current conditions. 4 ads to see why the tornado sirens are sounding is ridiculous. ### 1/5 — Too many pop ups! *2026-05-24* Why they’ve added a pop up ad for every screen clicked on is sooo annoying. There’s so many other weather apps out there. I don’t know why you guys would do that. I will not be using KAKE until they post somewhere that this has been fixed. ### 1/5 — Just get another weather app *2026-05-23* The ads overtake the entire screen every 2 minutes and the data must be from AI generated sources because it’s wildly inaccurate. The video forecasts are great and accurate, and the push notifications on storm warnings are useful. ### 1/5 — Plagued by Ads! *2026-05-23* Kake First Alert weather app used to be my favorite. Now you can’t even use it without getting ads pop up every time you open the app and multiple ads if you try to cycle between Home-Hourly-10DayForcast-Radar. I’m just removing it from my phone at this point. The app went from a solid 5 star to a 1 star because of all these ads ### 1/5 — New update *2026-04-19* I love this app and have used it for years, it’s the most accurate weather app that I have found, but the recent update to the radar really irks me in ways that I cannot express in words. I love all the map settings and features. Doesn’t lag, ads don’t pop up, and I like how far out you can see the hourly forecast. ### 4/5 — Some problems *2024-05-15* I guess this is a pretty good app. My main concern with it is I will get a notification that says additional information from KAKE first alert. But then it doesn’t say anything else. So I go to the app and there’s nothing new there either. ### 4/5 — Good weather app but a few bugs need fixing *2016-09-20, version 4.2.1207* Good local weather app that's gets me the information I need. However two big gripes I have are that it's not Plus enable which means using it on my 6s plus it looks awful. Please update that. Also notifications even though I have them on don't seem to ever come. I have found KAKE predictions to be more accurate than other local and national sources. But sometime recently, an update removed the hourly likelihood % for precipitation, which I had found to be quite helpful as an estimate. Bring it back please! ### 3/5 — Bearnt *2024-06-15* Their weather predictions are hit or miss, even for Wichita. Plus, they are not detailed enough about specifically where storm related weather will occur. On top of that, they send you notifications for no reason sometimes accept to maybe up their responses to their notifications. ### 3/5 — Last update broke app *2023-06-25* Like the app but since your last update, the app opens and closes. I am on the latest iOS.
