### 3/5 — Thoughts during free trial

*2026-08-25*

I am using the Egyptian Arabic mode.

While I really like the concept of this app, I can’t justify paying for it at this point.

Two concerns: the camel avatar does not always pronounce the words the same way as the computer voice does during the practice sessions.

For example “nos nos” is pronounced by the camel like it is written with no trailing sound after nos. However, the computer automated voice sounds like “no-sa nos”. There is an extra sound after the first Nos. If I speak it with that extra sound, it is not counted as correct.

Related, there are other words that I pronounce, at least to my ears, the same as the computer voice, yet I can never get it to accept it as the correct pronunciation. The app does not help me correct my pronunciation; I just have to skip it.

These two problems alone prevent me from subscribing to the app.

### 3/5 — Almost Great

*2026-08-18*

The foundations of a really great app are here and it has potential to be exceptional with a few fixes that really ruin the experience. The voice recognition is terrible with no room for error (which in a learning app is not ideal) and with no skip button on the videos you have to quit and skip the full lesson if you’re not pronouncing correctly. I even recorded the voice of their example human and played it back for the app and it didn’t accept the voice to allow me to move on in the lesson. Otherwise a solid user-friendly app that clearly is relying far too much on AI and not enough human spot-checking.

### 2/5 — As a revert

*2026-08-17*

Assalamu Alaykum, my intention is good to write this in this review, but unfortunately, I began today with the goal of beginning my journey to learn Arabic a bit more. I’ve been a Revert for a few years and I speak I can recite a number of Suraj and I have been doing so for a long time. I started using the app today impossible to progress just from the first lesson every time I say a word it takes forever to confirm the accuracy of what I’ve said and sometimes it just keeps on stalling. It took me 30 minutes, and I still didn’t even finish the first lesson of 16 words which is just not ideal for somebody who’s trying to fit in Arabic learning in their day-to-day. The idea of five minutes makes it almost impossible. There’s just too many lags and I feel like sometimes when I’m reciting the words it’s picking up incorrectly. These are words that I’ve also known and I’m able to recite, but there’s just seems to be some mistakes with the AI recognition. I can’t be sure so I feel a little disappointed, but Inshallah, you guys can work on this and make things better.

### 4/5 — Good update, still needs improvement

*2026-08-16*

The new update is great. The animations are cute and it’s very engaging. However, it needs some improvement. I think due to the animations there’s a lot of lagging. And sometimes the audios don’t work looking forward to even smoother usage of this great app!!!

### 2/5 — I want this to work…

*2026-08-13, version 1.3.0*

The app was extremely glitchy, although I badly wanted it to work, it seems so great….

### 2/5 — New update

*2026-08-11*

Repeating is good but knowing you know how to pronounce it properly and it still doesn’t work and even your Moroccan husband said the phrase and it’s still saying wrong is BS plus you don’t even hear a good pronunciation from the ai robot or voice ! It’s such a piss off makes me so angry !!!

### 4/5 — Ugh for now

*2026-08-11*

This has the potential to be a really great app, but then need to work out the glitches. This feels like a Beta, not a real launch. Im happy to keep paying to support, but the app regularly doesn’t register what I’ve said, it regularly interrupts itself and glitches to the next possible word to learn, and the prompts from the camel regularly don’t align with the example and speaking request from the Syrian voice.

### 2/5 — Some flaws

*2026-08-09, version 1.3.0*

Started ok, but recorded voice saying it for you to repeat it cut out some. Then when I tried to go back to the camel there was no way to hear him say it slower or clearer so I was stuck in a holding pattern. Has potential for a good app, needs work. Good luck.

### 3/5 — Could be better

*2026-08-04*

I love the thought of this app. And I almost bought the subscription but it seems like it doesn’t want to run properly or at all. I have an iPhone 17 pro. Majority of the time it won’t pronounce the word or it will just not do anything except buffer. I can’t watch the video reviews because they won’t load. And it’s not my internet for sure. But please fix!! And I will come change my review

### 2/5 — 😕

*2026-07-26*

Sorry, but that’s not how people actually speak in Lebanon. You used formal Arabic, not spoken Lebanese. Nobody talks like that in everyday conversation. Please use the Lebanese dialect—the way people really communicate—not the Arabic you find in books.

### 2/5 — Hi im mustafa

*2026-07-25, version 1.2.6*

The app cost money and I only have 036 cents people who are poor they cannot go in the app and I can't even try it so you can help me get it free

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2026-07-25*

Vibe-coded AI blob that's just pretty much all AI content, AI conversations, AI quizzes. There's almost no difference to using a chatbot like ChatGPT to learn Arabic. I, as a fluent Arabic speaker, am trying to help my little sister learn Arabic and saw an ad for this app. I wanted to test it myself before I encourage her to start using Kelam and I'm glad I tested it first. It's absolutely just all AI-generated content, no structure. Also a bit weird with how they request a payment before you can actually get to see the app and also request a review vibe-coded. Anyways don't waste your time downloading and even signing up for the free trial

### 3/5 — Great when it works

*2026-07-22, version 1.2.6*

I got to to surprise my friend and learn her dialect. Many times the sounds don't play or it will not pick up when I speak. It doesn't matter if I'm using earbuds or speaking into the phone. I wish this app was further along but I'll stick with it for now.

### 3/5 — Subscription malfunction

*2026-07-22, version 1.2.6*

It seemed pretty cool at first, but after switching to a new phone, it wants me to resubscribe… I bought the year subscription, I don’t want to buy another subscription after spending that money. Hopefully it’ll be fixed.

### 1/5 — Terrible voice recognition

*2026-07-17*

The app is unable to recognize words spoken, marking everything as incorrect, even when attempted by a native speaker. Makes the app unusable!

### 2/5 — L

*2026-07-16, version 1.2.6*

This app keeps trying to charge me after I canceled the subscription but learning Arabic on this app is good but I’ll have to learn Arabic somewhere else.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — stupid paywall

*2026-08-25, version 1.3.0*

the paywall at the beginning is the reason I am going to never speak my parents language:(

### 1/5 — Falsely Promised To Warn Before Charging

*2026-08-25*

SCAM. Don’t give them your card info. You can’t use the app for free, they make you sign up for the trial. Then they trick you by assuring you’ll get a notice before the trial ends, lulling you into a false sense of security. They don’t actually send you this notification. I’ve just been charged $100 for an app not worth a quarter of that, after them assuring me they would let me know before this charge went through, which was a lie. There is no customer service available, and Apple just sees it as a free trial that’s expired so it’s not eligible for a refund thru them. WATCH OUT! DO NOT RECOMMEND.

### 1/5 — Bad for beginners

*2026-08-20, version 1.3.0*

Chat GPT can teach you Arabic more efficiently for free. This isn’t good for people starting fresh with Arabic. Also the AI is very primitive .

### 1/5 — Won’t load first lesson

*2026-08-20, version 1.3.0*

I’m level 0 just started and it won’t learn the video lesson part of ‘speaking basics’ please fix

### 1/5 — dont waste your time

*2026-08-17*

this app literally makes you pay before you even start which is genuinely so horrible because wdym i have to pay to learn about 4 words in under a week, seems like a good app tho

### 1/5 — Took my money and cant even use the tool

*2026-08-17, version 1.3.0*

I downloaded this app because I seen it recommended by many influencers and I wanted to learn Arabic. I go to sign up for the free trial, and they charge me for a year. This was the first issue I had.

Then, after using it for 3 days, they sign me out and theres no way for me to sign back it. The only option is to pay for another year. I reached out on instagram and sent them an email but no one has ever got back to me.

### 1/5 — predatory subscription service

*2026-08-05, version 1.3.0*

app never gave me the two day notification before charging me 100$. a two day free trial is ridiculous and very predatory. i wanted to reach out to get a refund and you can’t find a customer support email anywhere. in addition, when i tried logging in on my wife’s phone, since she might actually use it, you can’t. it’s linked to one apple id/device. when i tried on her phone, said i don’t want to subscribe, it gave me a deal for an annual 35$ subscription. so if you want to subscribe reject it at first and then accept the 35$ deal.

### 1/5 — $100 just to try?!

*2026-08-05, version 1.3.0*

I couldn’t even try this app unless I wanted to fork over $100?! Ridiculous.

### 1/5 — Sucks

*2026-08-01, version 1.3.0*

I keep saying the word correctly and it keeps marking it incorrect. I wish we could move past it.

### 1/5 — Trop d’ia

*2026-07-31*

Il y a trop d’ia partout. Comment je peux être sûr que le contenu dedans cette application est vrai si tout est de l’ia? Comme nous le savons l’ia n’est pas une source fiable. Je n’est pas confiance.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — New Revert

*2026-08-01, version 1.3.0*

New to Islam but I’m so excited to have found this app. I’m working on my Arabic and my confidence to speak it with English being my first language.

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2026-07-28, version 1.2.6*

Very easy to learn Arabic argument can start normal conversations with my grandma and my mom and my dad and my sister and my brother now😀

### 5/5 — Great but needs slight improvements

*2026-07-24*

Would it be possible to have the English translations written under the cartoons? It’s a bit of a sudden jump for it to suddenly not have any English subtitles and tapping on the words as they come up is not practical

### 5/5 — Best app

*2026-07-23, version 1.2.6*

Very good

### 5/5 — Crazy work

*2026-07-16, version 1.2.6*
