Recently it’s been nearly impossible to get videos, I’ve been on waitlists for brands for over a year, plus if you want to be a kale icon they judge you on so many videos that aren’t reverent. Kept getting declined but my Instagram account is blowing up. If you’re a regular person this app is probably good but if you’re a content creator it is not worth it. And I used to love this app and tell everyone about it. The new challenges have you paying to be rewarded. They now have a fee to get your money, there isn’t any campaigns open EVER. ### 1/5 — Decent platform, disappointing recent changes *2026-06-15* Kale can be a decent platform for beginners who want to get started with UGC and brand collaborations. It does provide opportunities to earn money, but the pay is generally quite low compared to the amount of work required. One of my biggest frustrations is how strict the content review process is. Many videos that clearly follow the campaign guidelines are rejected before they are even shown to the brand. It often feels like creators are not given a fair opportunity to have their work evaluated by the client, even when the content meets the stated requirements. Another issue is compensation. There are campaigns that require purchasing or showcasing relatively expensive products, yet the reward may only be one or two “lettuces” ($5–$10). In some cases, a campaign may require products that cost close to $50, while the base payment is only $15. After accounting for the cost of the products, the time spent filming, editing, posting, and revisions, creators can end up losing money instead of earning it. The payment system can also be frustrating, especially with recent policy changes. The newest update, where only views from the United States count toward performance-based earnings, is very disappointing. Many creators have international audiences and cannot control where their content is viewed. This change significantly reduces earning potential and makes campaigns feel less worthwhile. I genuinely believe Kale has potential, which is why I hope the team takes creator feedback seriously. Please reconsider the U.S.-only view policy, improve transparency in the review process, and offer compensation that better reflects the cost of products and the effort creators put into their work. A platform cannot succeed without its creators, and right now many of us feel undervalued. ### 1/5 — Wont connect to YouTube *2026-06-06, version 6.55.2* Been working with support for over a week to connect my YouTube and they keep sending me the same article and closing the ticket. As of now, there has been a surge of new creators joining the platform and because the videos are viewed by a team, it’s now taking exactly one week for you to get paid OR denied which I don’t appreciate at. As a result of the app creators not having a waitlist for newcomers, the creators who have been on here now have to put up with this which is extremely frustrating. I still don’t understand how and why my uploaded videos take exactly 7 days to review each and every time. I’m starting to think it’s intentional at this point. Would I recommend this app, yes, prior to 2026. As of now, absolutely not. Now we’re being charged a fee also with payout.
