About

Kalisme helps you catch your breath, write down what you feel and step back, a few minutes a day. For days of tiredness or stress, or when you just need a break. No account to create, no ads, and the essentials stay free, forever. WHAT YOU DO HERE Breathe, guided by a circle that opens and closes, from one minute to ten. Write in a notebook that is yours alone, and that you can protect with Face ID. Make the most of your day: an intention in the morning, a small topic to discover, and in the evening three things that made you smile. Then it’s done: nothing to scroll through endlessly. Talk to Kal, an artificial intelligence that listens and answers you gently. Read or listen to 13 short books, and music chosen to match your mood. Stay close to a few people you choose, in a private space: no one can find you there, and your messages stay between you. Dare to ask for help when things aren’t going well, with a small free booklet. FREE, FOREVER Breathing, the notebook and its backup on your iCloud, morning and evening, the small topics of the day, music, the help booklet and Apple Watch. With Kal, three messages a day. And up to three people close to you. PAID, IF YOU WANT To talk to Kal more: the Kal subscription, up to 50 messages a day. To also get the 13 books, audio included: Full Access. The first month is free. After that, the subscription continues at the price shown, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the free month ends. Both come monthly or yearly. Prefer to pay just once? One book, all 13 together, or 120 more messages with Kal. And to support the creator of Kalisme: a small supporter subscription, which also lets you invite more people close to you. The price for your country is shown in the app, before any purchase. WHERE KALISME COMES FROM It all starts with a short, free text, the Manifesto. It fits in 13 simple sentences that remind you what you’re allowed to do for yourself. For example: “You can stop before you’re worn out,” or “You can start today.” These are the 13 permissions. You read them or listen to them, even without internet, and a guided journey introduces them one by one. Each of the 13 books develops one of them. EVERYWHERE WITH YOU On iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and in the car, on the dashboard screen (CarPlay). On iPhone Duo, the iPhone that folds, Kalisme opens like a book, on two pages. Fifteen languages: the app follows your iPhone’s language. The text grows with the size you chose on your iPhone. A typeface designed for dyslexia is offered in nine languages, including English. Kalisme doesn’t ask you to be someone else. It hands you something to hold on to, at your own pace. It doesn’t replace a doctor. What's New in Kalisme. A space of your own

2.5.1

November 2, 2026

IN THIS UPDATE With Kal Extended, three questions wait for you under Kal's message field while it's empty: “Where am I at?”, “What do you notice about me?” and “Remind me to breathe at…”. The first two don't count toward your daily messages. Before you talk to Kal for the first time, the consent screen now explains more clearly where your conversation is kept: on your phone, and in your phone's backup if that's turned on. When what you write shows signs of distress, the banner that gives you the emergency number also says that Kalisme isn't made for emergencies. On iPhone Duo and iPad, with the Standard home, the Manual is also in the “…” menu, just before Settings. And also: corrected translations in every language, a clear message when Kal is temporarily unavailable, the free month button, which now starts only one purchase, and other small fixes. A REMINDER: WHAT'S NEW IN 2.5 AN EVENING “THINKING OF YOU” In the evening, Today’s feed ends with a card that offers to send a “thinking of you” to someone close, in one tap. Haven’t added anyone yet? The card helps you invite someone. Prefer to keep things private? The number on the app icon, which counts the “thinking of you” messages you haven’t seen yet, can be hidden. Go to Loved ones, then tap the settings gear. A message from a loved one is no longer lost if you close its notification without reading it: it stays under their name in Loved ones for 3 hours. And when you reply from the notification, the message counts as seen, on your iPhone and on your other devices. SIMPLER WORDS The buttons at the bottom now say what you do there: Today, Journal to write, Loved ones, Quiz, Manual for help, and Talk, to chat with Kal. And the app’s text has been rewritten in simple words, from the home screen to Kal’s messages. CLEARER SETTINGS Settings now come in five parts: you, what the app does, your subscription, your privacy and your data. Turning a feature on or changing a reminder time takes fewer taps. THE NIGHT LIGHT PLAYS MUSIC In the Night light, the screen for falling asleep, the play button starts an album of soft music with no lyrics. AND ALSO Shake your iPhone three times: the app switches from one home screen to the other. You can change this gesture in Settings. The Share button in Settings sends your invite link, if you have one. On days when the feed is about a book chapter, its first card shows you a passage from it right away. The Close button is in the same place everywhere, at the top left. And songs without vocals no longer show a lyrics button. ON iPhone Duo AND iPad With the Standard home, you choose the order of the buttons: Settings › Home and appearance › Button order. The mini music player no longer covers the bottom of pages. iPhone Duo open and held sideways: in a book, or in the Manifesto in full screen, the buttons move to the side and the text uses the full height. In the Manifesto too, “Ask Kal” opens Kal on the other half of the screen, without leaving your reading. KAL RECORDS Voting on Kal Records songs is gone: now you simply listen to the music. The votes you'd already cast have been deleted from your iPhone.
