## What is Kalkalok?

Kalkalok is a private money tracker for iPhone. Log expenses and income, watch balances across multiple accounts, and see where your money is going — without an account, ad, or third-party server.

Your data stays on your device by default. iCloud sync is off until you turn it on, and even then it lives in your own iCloud — Kalkalok has no backend.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Track expenses and income across as many accounts as you want — cash, debit, savings, anything.
• Set an opening balance per account so you don't have to back-fill old transactions.
• Use multiple currencies — each account has its own currency. Balances and insights are split per currency, never converted with a made-up rate.
• Move money between same-currency accounts with two-sided transfers.
• Tag transactions and filter the list by date, account, kind, amount range, or tag.
• Save filter presets as favorites and pin a default for one-tap recall.
• Set up recurring rules for monthly bills, salary, or transfers — Kalkalok reminds you when each one is due.
• Track credit card charges separately from your cash accounts and reconcile them when the bank settles.
• Browse insights to see spending trends and category-style breakdowns by tag.

PRIVACY BY DEFAULT

• No account, no sign-up, no email required.
• No analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs.
• No data leaves your device unless you turn on iCloud sync.

OPTIONAL ICLOUD SYNC AND SHARING

When you turn on iCloud sync from Settings, Kalkalok stores your data in your own iCloud and keeps it in sync across your devices. You can also share an individual account with a family member or partner so you both see the same balance and transactions; other accounts stay private. Sharing uses Apple's built-in CloudKit sharing — no Kalkalok account needed for either side.

WHAT KALKALOK IS NOT

• Not a bank connection app — Kalkalok does not link to your bank or import statements automatically.
• Not a budgeting envelope app — it's a tracker first, with insights to help you understand the past, not enforce a plan.
• Not a multi-currency wallet — it does not convert between currencies. Each account stays in its native currency.
