### 5/5 — Awesome app

Our whole family can't help but to get down and boogy to the theme song- every time! This app is a big hit with all the little kids that my daughters babysit!

### 5/5 — Quirky and fun!

*2014-12-09, version 1.1.0*

You know how your kid draws all sorts of crazy stuff, oozing imagination and improbability? Kalley’s Machine is exactly that, brought to interactive life by a talented family of artists.

### 5/5 — Truly Unique

*2014-12-09, version 1.1.0*

What a fabulous app. And now even better with a cat party. I love all the settings. Took me a while to realize that you could turn the cats on and off. Hilarious. Can't wait to share it with my Kindergarten students. Great for learning cause and effect but mostly for just plain fun. Highly recommended!

Cats? Learning to read? Machinery? YES! YES! AND YES! What's not to love about a little girl wanting to build a machine that make food for them. Need I say more???

*2014-12-08, version 1.1.0*

Love the update with the Cat Party at the end! Our daughter had a kitty-themed birthday party a few years ago and we would have loved to tie in this app with our theme! Way to Go KM+C! Keep making more apps as a family!

### 5/5 — Colorful, Creative, Engaging.

*2014-12-08, version 1.1.0*

My five year old loves this app! Clever and cute, it is a fun app with a charming story. I love how you can turn on the "read to me" feature or tap a word to hear it. The cats are a fun aspect- we enjoy manipulating the different parts of the machine and waiting for the cats to react. Adorable.

### 5/5 — Love it!!

*2014-12-08, version 1.1.0*

Love this app!! It's great for young kids, especially. They can just push on the screen and it's not overly complicated!

### 5/5 — Fun and cute app

*2014-12-08, version 1.1.0*

My little girl loves this app. Our only request is that the authors keep making more apps.

### 5/5 — great interactive story

*2014-10-27, version 1.0.4*

My 7 year old son and I enjoyed this interactive story. The music in the background was catchy. The narration was clear and was fluent highlighting each word as one was read allowed for easy tracking. The option to press on a word and have it be read was a great added bonus, The graphic were also well done.

### 5/5 — Incredibly Creative

*2014-10-26, version 1.0.4*

My daughters love this story and the interactive machine. Thank you for sharing.

### 5/5 — Great cute fun adorable app

*2014-10-25, version 1.0.4*

This is a fun and very cute adorable app the sound effects are cute & my 4y/o daughter loves it too. It's fun for the hole family, better on the iPad I'm sure more space & larger buttons would make it great highly recommend & we want more :)

### 5/5 — Awesome interacting

*2014-10-25, version 1.0.4*

This is a wonderful story that teaches more than just a moral. Can help older kids read, and all kid learn color blending. Also a good lever/pulley science lesson!

### 5/5 — 4yo Daughter Loves this app!

*2014-10-25, version 1.0.4*

My daughter is a girly girl who loves dolls and everything pink and purple. That's why I am always looking for new ways to incorporate science and engineering based play time into her life. This app allows my daughter to interact with this cute story & and she doesn't even know she is learning engineering fundamentals. She loves seeing the cat's reaction to all shes doing :) wish there were more apps like this!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can't get past the first page

*2014-09-15, version 1.0.1*

This is not worth it because it is unusable

### 2/5 — Please allow parents to disable swipe

*2016-03-09, version 1.3.3*

My toddler likes this game, but she finds it very frustrating that when she is just touching the screen to make something move, over half the time she swipes to another page. Since this app is premised on kids touching the screen, please at least allow parents to disable the swipe feature.

### 2/5 — No Sound?

*2014-09-13, version 1.0.1*

This looks fun for my 3 yo boy however there's no sound at all. I have tried everything, opened the iPad volume control, turned off/restarted the device etc.... Other apps' volume in our iPad work fine but this one. Help please?

### 3/5 — Reviews are deceiving

*2014-10-27, version 1.0.4*

This app is very cute and I love the story behind it, which is apparently why so many people rate it so highly. That being said, I bought this thinking that it would be useful in keeping my two toddlers (age three and a half, and 1 and half) busy on a an airplane trip. The reviews were stellar. However, it was very simple, and my three year old was bored of it very quickly. He went through the story once and was not really interested any more. There's no going any further in it. My 19 month old try's to play it but has a hard time manipulating the "machine," and gets frustrated. Its a really cute idea, but I believe there needs to be some kind of outcome at the end. The father/ daughter duo is adorable, and seemingly very talented. Why not take it a step further? I just feel like it wasn't worth $2.99

### 3/5 — Not happy

*2014-09-14, version 1.0.1*

I bought this app because my 3yr old daughter loves cats and books. But she wasn't interested in this book. In fact she begged me to quit before we were done reading the book. She will probably never open it again. Personally I think it is kind of cute, but not worth more than a dollar. There really isn't enough content. The various dials should do different things and there should be more interaction with the cats. Way more interaction.
My six yr old didn't like it either. So much for relying on reviews. Ugh. I wish there was a way to return apps, like on google play. I would have returned this within ten minutes.

### 4/5 — Like

*2014-10-14, version 1.0.2*

I really like the interactivenes of you story and I really really like the thought behind it

### 5/5 — I love this game!!!!!!!

*2024-09-11, version 1.4.0*

Omg I just found my old I pad and this game is soooooo nostalgic!!!!!!

### 5/5 — Muito bom!

### 5/5 — :)

*2016-03-19, version 1.3.3*

This app is so cute it just is so cool;)

### 5/5 — Great interactive book interesting for Maker Ed

*2016-03-15, version 1.3.3*

I generally don’t take the time to review apps . .but this one got me really excited. I am an education professor and also an Apple Distinguished Educator and i only heard about this App when it was free for a day. its an interactive book that has appropriate reading strategies. I just spent about 30 minutes using it with my 4 year old nephew. He played it again and again and liked each of the machines. One thing that I thought was cool, he kept asking why the “marshmallows” reset on each screen. Auntie I made it small, why is it big again? it lead to a good discussion on how programmers make each page work.. (His daddy is a computer engineer).

The reading level is appropriate and it gives good feedback and allows each word to be spoken. The only bit of suggestion for improvement I would include would be to have something interactive on the last page or the the end page. My nephew was a little disappointed that everything was just “over” . .but he went back and started the book again.. (Maybe an interactive hug) ..

So who would be interested.. I think this is really appropriate for maker education as well.. i could see using it as an intro to a lesson on designing machines.

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Adorable!

*2016-03-09, version 1.3.3*

My kids love the cats!

### 5/5 — Fun!

*2016-03-07, version 1.3.3*

My kid loves this app

### 5/5 — We still LOVE this app!!!

*2016-03-04, version 1.3.3*

There is a reason this app is still getting featured by Apple.

Our kids are older now, but this story still has a place in our hearts. And we have friends with young kids who crack up at the cats and love playing with the machines. It's cool to see them enjoying it too.

### 5/5 — Obsessed

*2015-06-16, version 1.1.0*

My two sons (ages 2 and 4) are obsessed with this app. We're dog people and they're both violently allergic to cats so I'm not sure how they can spend so much time playing it but they do. It's easy to navigate, whimsical, entertaining and most importantly (as a parent) the sounds/noises aren't annoying. We're looking forward to more apps from Rocketwagon!

### 5/5 — Good job! (Fake review, but this app is still very good)

*2014-12-22, version 1.1.0*

My ten year old kid loves to play with this app,

She loves to interact with the things and find out what happens.

My ten year old has trouble reading the words sometimes so she asks her younger, two year old sister to help her, my two year old thinks this app is to young for her and should stick to reading harry potter instead. XD LOL

SORRY IF I DID WRONG OR IF I OFFENDED YOU OR SOMETHING.....

REAL STORY, I AM TEN AND SAW THIS APP, I THOUGHT IT KINDA LOOKED COOL, SO i looked on appsgonefree and it was free so i got it, it is good quality for a kid's app, but i have no idea what nonchalant means and i had to look in the dictionary.

### 5/5 — Great for my 4, 6, and 8 year old

*2014-12-21, version 1.1.0*

Lots of fun and keeps the attention of my four, six, and eight-year-old.
