This game is ideal for 3-6 players and suitable for Ages 8+ and Adults A minimum deck of two standard 52 card packs including four jokers is used to start the game for 3-4 players, with one new deck each added for additional players. The objective of the game is to win by laying down all your card contracts specific to the round being played. There are four rounds in Regular Kalooki - “333”, “334”, “344”, “444”. A "THREE" is a set of three or more cards of the same rank, such as 5-5-5 or K-K-K-K-K. The suits of the cards do not matter and duplicates can be included. A "four" is a run of four or more consecutive cards in the same suit, such as 8-9-10-J-Q. Aces can be high or low but can only be used at the end of a run, not in the interior, so A-2-3-4 and J-Q-K-A are valid, but K-A-2-3 is not. Jokers can be used as wildcards to substitute for any card in a “3” or “4”, with specific restrictions. Once someone wins the round, all the other players must total the penalty value of the cards they have in hand. The penalty value of the cards are Joker (50 points), Black Ace (15 points), King/Queen/Jack/Ten (10 points), 2 to 9 (face value), Red Ace (1 point). It sets up the new game then nothing for a long period of time. ### 1/5 — New Version Not Good *2025-01-09* I used to use Kalookiville all the time but now the game won’t even start. So I’m playing against the computer and it’s 4 of us and the game won’t start. No one is picking from the deck and no card is laid down. How does the gsme start now? ### 1/5 — PLEASE FIX!! Needs update and work! *2025-01-04* This game is a great downtime game! The old app was working okay! But this new update needs to plenty work! I appreciate the thought behind the getting the app out but please fix these kinks on the new version! Can’t lay and finish, can rearrange cards or grab the cards, can’t see the cards that drop with the big box pop up covering the drop card.. it’s not pleasurable to play! Please fixxx ### 3/5 — Has Potential to be great *2024-11-30* So I have had this app for a while and honestly the previous version worked pretty good. After this update it doesn’t work as smoothly to me and is aggravating. The computer calls cards after they have already laid. And after you lay it won’t let you discard a card from your hand. Last one is that sometimes you don’t even have a chance to call a card because the computer calls it before you even get to see what was discarded. Please fix the bugs. It did not process (Invalid Meld) the 334 with a joker (2AAAQQQ6J89[spades,]). The previous round forced me to choose an additional card when I laid down the 333 contract. **Developer response:** Hi - there, thanks for writing. We have addressed these issues and hopefully you can enjoy the game again. ### 4/5 — Good work *2024-02-15, version 3.0.8* I have enjoyed using this app. I was introduced to Kalooki many years ago and had not played it since so I have enjoyed finding this app. Some tweaks needed. The lay of a royal 4 is being flagged as invalid play. In the sequences of 4 sets 3334, 3344, the game gets stuck in its random pattern and selects a card then discards the same card many times. I will not delete just yet . I will use it a few more times. Thanks. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2022-12-27, version 3.0.8* Can only take out of turn three times per deal which is stupid so what’s the point because if your card gets put down out of turn you can never get out! Also it was my go I wanted the card and it wouldn’t let me pick it up I had to draw from the deck and it happens three times again no point playing if it won’t let you pick up even on your turn. Deleted it after three rounds useless ### 3/5 — Getting stuck plus other issues *2022-12-16* So I’ve dropped my rating 🥲 - The app gets stuck at the 344 round. Every. Single. Time. - The cards are still TINY and very difficult to read. - if you’ve laid a joker in a run, you cant tag to replace it if it’s the highest value (at the top) in the run. I’m really disappointed. It also does not make an allowance for the player to change from computer to hosting a game once you have made the selection.
