Don’t waste your time! ### 1/5 — If you are professor….PLEASE DON’T USE THIS PROGRAM! *2023-09-09, version 3.26* It is a near impossible act and time consuming pain trying to access any type of lectures uploaded on ANY KALTURA PRODUCT. Because of this company’s security issues these videos are rejected by browsers on Apple and most on Windows even if you give access to cookies.PLEASE DO NOT USE KALTURA TO RECORD AND STREAM YOUR LECTURES. Especially, if you require a huge workload on tight deadlines. You’re setting your students up to fail. It is so frustrating for many students who use an iPad for their work or need to access lectures through mobile devices. And it is 2023 so this is a common thing for most students. Honestly, just go read all the other 1 star reviews and those are my same complaints. Makes it insanely difficult to manage school lectures and videos. I have to barrow my husbands laptop every time I need to view something that is only accessible through Kaltura. ### 1/5 — App Needs Some Work *2023-05-10, version 3.25* App won’t load, freezes on the loading screen. ### 1/5 — Nothing Works on Mobile *2023-02-07, version 3.24* I’ve spent an hour trying to play an audio recording of my class on my phone. Whenever I tried to access the webplayer on my phone browser I got a message saying I needed to install 3rd party session cookies. Well that’s great except no mobile search engine has the option to allow that. Absurd. So I’ve come here hoping that I could pop in the url for the class audio recordings and what do you know this app ALSO doesn’t work. I can’t believe they made a website for students that universities (for some odd reason are actually using) and didn’t think to have some sort of mobile access? The absolute lack of foresight and ability to make the website work on mobile devices and then the gaul to release this godforsaken app which doesn’t work at all is just an insane blunder for not just the developers but any institution that is foolish enough to use anything this company creates. ### 1/5 — trash *2022-11-20, version 3.21* this app is literal garbage , deletes your video without any warning because it had trouble uploading and then you are stuck having to do it all over again ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2022-08-15, version 3.21* App doesn’t connect with linked sites. I prefer to use the iPad multitask feature when listening to lectures so I have my note-taking app on the other half of the screen. The kaltura app does not support multitasking, so I’m stuck using the browser version to listen to lectures. Unfortunately, the mobile browser version does not seem to have the option of changing playback speed, so you’re stuck listening to each lecture at 1x speed if you want to multitask. I don’t know what my medical school pays for this service, but for the glitchy functionality on the student end, they’d have to be overpaying. ### 1/5 — Nothing has changed since previous reviews *2022-02-10, version 3.20* Some of the other reviews are over a year old, so I gave this app a chance to see if the issues everyone is describing have been resolved. It seems the app was updated a month ago, so they should have resolved these issues, right? Nope. Nothing has changed. The only option is to copy/paste the url for the video you’re trying to watch, which is a waste of your time anyway because an error message pops up saying “failed to load data.” This app is literally pointless. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2022-01-10, version 3.20* The app won’t even open absolute garbage ### 1/5 — Work meeting *2021-12-08, version 3.19* Doesn’t show the slide, doesn’t transition like it should. Pasting direct links doesn't even work, literally the most basic feature. Opening from the browser also doesn't work. Pasting the link that comes with the "open in app" also doesn't work. I have no idea why canvas chooses to use this app. Do not bother trying to use if you are on mobile. The idea of a college using this platform is literally insane. This is how ALOT of students do school work.I just cannot believe this app a being used by any university. Unfortunately my professor requires this to turn in projects for my public speaking class. Turning in the project is harder than making the actual speech because every time I upload my speech through Kaltura it uploads it as an image not the full video.
