When it works, it’s great. ### 2/5 — App support *2026-07-10, version 1.0.45* Well it’s nearly impossible get access support at KJ without filling out your life story. I am unable to log in via the app as the screen is expanded and offset. The web site no problem. Also, I cannot even create a new account without it stating the password is not compliant. Sorry to reach out this way but I do need help. I’ll revise my review following. ### 3/5 — APP is basic but could easily be better *2026-04-28, version 1.0.45* Overall I like my Kamado Joe Konnected Big Joe, but the app needs some work. 1) The app does not always “live update” so what I see on the screen may be old information. I can do a manual refresh from the main page if I catch it, but there is nothing on the app that lets me know it is showing old information. Oddly, the notifications still function properly even when the app is showing different and old information. 2) Let me set high and low temperature alarms when I am using the Kamado grill in manual mode. 3) Your manual says that when cooling down, I should not fully close the top vent until the grill is less than 400 degrees, this app should have an alarm to let me know that has happened. ### 4/5 — App good but could be better *2026-04-20, version 1.0.45* So far loving the Konnected Joe - all the on board features work well, my only complaint is when opening the cover, the fan shuts off, and takes a while to come back on to recover the temperature after closure. The app however does not always update in “live” mode so needs a manual refresh from the main page. Does also run the phone battery pretty hard. But alerts come thru to my watch which is nice ### 3/5 — Works fine but wont stay logged in. *2026-01-02, version 1.0.44* The app works generally ok. Biggest annoyance is that it logs out frequently and doesn’t autofill when using a password manager like apple passwords. The cooking and control portions of the app are fine, not exceptional but get the job done. No major issue there. The authentication problem is such a pain I frequently dont bother using the app and dig out different probes. Please consider updating the app to support long lived authentication tokens or at the very least some form of quick touch/faceID reauthentication if this is coming from a higher corporate security policy. ### 3/5 — Connectivity issues *2025-12-25, version 1.0.44* My Joe and the app keep disconnecting from each other and from the internet despite having a strong connection. The application always logs out and does not persist the logged-in user, so I have to log in every time I use the app. 2. I connected my Komodo Joe, and everything is working perfectly. It would be great if the app could utilize some of the iPhone features, like live updates, so I can easily see the grill temperature on the main screen of my phone. An Apple Watch app would also be fantastic, allowing me to check the temperature even when I'm away from my phone. ### 2/5 — Trust but verify *2025-05-29, version 1.0.40* I love the Konnected Joe. It is rock solid as a grill and the temp control seems to work great… The app on the other hand is pretty unreliable. If I use the app get then run errands and come back home the app stops working it either freezes up or just totally diskonnects. I have to turn the grill off then try to rekonnect. Even then it sometimes works only about half the time. It is only an app issue the grill still works when the app freezes. ### 3/5 — Just okay *2025-04-28, version 1.0.40* Really don’t need the app to alert me every time the temp drops a few degrees and then hits the target temp again. Meanwhile the probes don’t update the temp of the meat unless I close the app and restart it. Every time. I am extremely disappointed to see how bad this app is compared to the Traeger app. Traeger has 10x the recipes, a search function to find a recipe, and videos. Kamado app can’t even change the temperature on my grill without three repeat attempts. Recommend they immediately invest in the app to keep up with their competition. ### 4/5 — Keeps crashing *2024-12-23, version 1.0.38* Good idea and great to be able to monitor cook, but app keeps crashing and you have to restart it. ### 2/5 — Goes white *2024-08-11, version 1.0.32* Mine will barely show a temp then the app goes white and I can’t do anything other than restart ### 2/5 — Needs work for basic functions *2024-08-02, version 1.0.32* The app is great for manually checking everything without going out to the grill and setting your temp. There are basic features however that are just not useful at all. 1. All the probe temp targets are the same, therefore useless. for example, no matter which type meat you choose, the rare, medium rare, medium rare, etc are the same temps for poultry, pork, beef, and fish. MY $10 probe thermometer knows those don't all cook at the same temp. 2. Editing timer and temperature is not easy. You can't add time to the timer until it reaches 0. This is a simple feature. Love the graph and time function. Raised temp in app to finish off and sear sausage and it worked like a charm. Only improvement I’d request is the ability to name your sessions and allow notes. I like how I can set my temperature on the app and the grill does all the work. Also the session graphing is super cool - you can see cooking history with times/temps. Kamado warns you of a delay in temp, but if you’re grill is close to the house (me 40 feet) then you shouldn’t see much of a delay. Pay close attention to accessories on the grill screen so you don’t miss temperature ramping. I missed the notice when inserting a DoJoe and waited forever for my temp to come up as the grill assumed I had the lid open. Love the grill and App, great work Kamado Joe!!! I love how it tells me the firmware and I can keep track of my cooks while being lazy inside ( keeping an eye on it of course).
