## What is Kamte?

Kamte is the app that replaces your paper ledger or Excel file for tracking your income and expenses. Simple to use, quick to fill in, it finally gives you a clear view of where your money goes — no internet connection, no account to create, no complexity.

- Log an operation the way you'd say it out loud

That's what makes Kamte different: no complicated form with separate fields. You write your operation as a sentence, and Kamte figures out the amount on its own.

For example, for "I bought 20 loaves of bread for 2000", Kamte picks up the amount and records it automatically.

And because everyone has their own habits, you choose how Kamte should recognize your amounts:
- **Simple numbers**: the largest number in your sentence is recognized as the amount.
- **Always with a decimal**: only amounts written with a decimal separator (e.g. 2000.00) are detected — ideal if your sentences also contain quantities, to avoid any confusion.

- Accounting split by wallet

You can split your budget across multiple wallets, following the envelope budgeting method. For example, every time you receive your monthly salary, you divide your spending into major categories: housing (rent, electricity, water, subscriptions...), leisure, savings.

You can also organize things more broadly. For example, create one wallet to manage your household, another for a construction site, and another to track the profitability of your business. This is what makes Kamte a perfect tool for **analytical / cost accounting**: you track the profitability of each project, site, or activity separately, instead of mixing everything into one spreadsheet.

Reorder your wallets however you like, and archive one to take it out of your view without losing its history.
