I have it set to my living room to see my kids when I leave them with my parents to babysit. I have to close the app and reload to get a thumbnail of my camera with an updated image of what’s going on. ### 3/5 — Scout Alarm Bought Kangaroo - All support broken *2026-04-02, version 11.31* The alarms are fair, can run to SD cards, and are inexpensive. However, service went massively downhill from 2025 into 2026. After a ton of searching around, I found that the Australian company Scout Alarm (has competing products) purchased Kangaroo Alarm. I did get some help via Scout's page. ALL support articles for Kangaroo in-app and possibly their support team are unavailable, but they still sell products and subscriptions. I've been a big user and advocate and this is a stinky oversight on the part of Scout/Kangaroo to leave all the Kangaroo customers hanging when we need help. This is verbatim what their (Scout's CS team) said to me: "I completely understand your concern regarding the recent merger. I'm happy to let you know that your Kangaroo device will continue to function as usual. If you experience any issues with your device, please don't worry—we're here to help. Just let us know and we'll guide you through troubleshooting step-by-step." ### 2/5 — Can’t figure it out *2025-12-06, version 11.31* American based company named after Australian animal. Paperwork doesn’t match app information. Can’t get it to work and I’m pretty savvy. Help ? ### 1/5 — Camera doesn’t appear in app *2025-08-19, version 11.30* Camera is not viewable in the app, there is no way to view the feed. There is no customer service, there are never agents during live hours, they never call back and do not respond to emails. I paid to upgrade my account in hopes that it would solve the issue and it did not, and to cancel for a refund you need to contact customer service. I tried calling the service number and it never connects me with anyone. Very disappointing, especially that's one of the main selling points of premium coverage. ### 1/5 — Was good *2025-07-27, version 11.30* I was really happy with this device at first, it worked well and met my needs. But in 2024, I moved to a new place that already had a built-in doorbell camera, so I stopped using Kangaroo. Out of nowhere, I noticed I was being charged for a subscription I never signed up for especially not with my bank account. I reached out to their support team to ask how this even happened, and instead of helping, they tried to spin it like I had somehow agreed to it. There's zero record of me opting in and I’m very careful with my financial info. I work in fintech and know how payments and authorisation work. This kind of thing isn’t just shady, it's straight-up wrong. Charging people without consent is theft. ### 4/5 — Areas for improvement *2025-05-27, version 11.30* I have been a customer for over 7 years now. I purchased doorbell cameras, water sensors, motion sensors, window sensors, sirens, and privacy cameras. Two weeks ago the cameras went offline and I was able to remove and reconnect them yet they no longer show in the app. I cannot view camera footage in the app. ### 1/5 — Won’t let me see motion alerts *2025-05-20, version 11.30* This camera is awful. It is the blurriest video and garbage audio I have ever seen not to mention it won’t even let me see motion detection anymore. It just keeps loading and loading and never loads the video ### 1/5 — It failed *2025-01-24, version 11.29* I had new batteries, I had made sure that my app was up-to-date on my iPhone, and I even had it paired with Alexa. Then I make a trip to my basement only for my feet to get wet and I realize that my basement had flooded and I had water everywhere. Over $7,000 in damages. it’s now been over a year and I still have not been able to get my basement back in order. I have a basement that used to be carpeted. And an additional bathroom. The new Kidde system works perfectly. It’s a doorbell, why do I need to give you my address? Also when you service the Australian market, use the metric system! Stop telling me I need to hold my phone 12inches away! How much is that in centimetres? And the QR scanning DID NOT WORK. It NEVER WORKED. I spent 45 minutes trying to get the QR code to scan. There are so many apps and what not that promise awesome results if you can just get hold of your spouse's device. This has always been a huge limitation for me as l've always wanted to see everything in my spouse's device without getting hold of her phone or her finding out. She began acting suspicious and being all secretive and 1 decided that something drastic had to be done. Thank God, faz came my way after checking through positive reviews, how he helped a woman catch her cheating husband red handed.! reached him via his mail at hacktech04er@gmailcom and he requested for certain info such as my spouses phone number and phone model. Within hrs I got a notification popped up on my phone it was from Faz. he gave me a spy link which I accessed with my phone web browser there I was able to see all of her texts, call logs, WhatsApp, Snapchat, deleted conversation, social media shared pictures and videos etc as if 1 got her phone in my palms.
