### 5/5 — Cool flashcard app

*2025-04-16*

Very nice, simple but polished kanji learning app. I love the themed lists, with the option to study food kanji, number kanji, kanji for bodies of water, kanji for types of plants, etc. There’s also a dictionary and the option to see more information about the kanji in the flashcard system. By far my favorite part is the “wall of kanji” page where you can see your progress on a giant list. The learning process is slow. You have to watch a little “New kanji unlocked!” animation and manually flip over the card before doing a matching game for each new kanji. I would prefer to be able to turn off these options and just do flashcards, or at least speed through the learning part. I also had to force close the app to leave the learning process. The option to set kanji you already know like JLPT or grade levels would be great. The AI backgrounds are tacky, but a dark or light overlay or mode would help a lot.
