## What is Kanji Drill 5 for iPhone?

Elementary School Kanji Drill has been receiving positive feedbacks from many users.
This popular series is one of the long-selling apps on App Store’s education category. 

About This App:
“The Fifth Year Kanji Learning Drill” covers all 182 kanji characters learned by fifth grade elementary school students in Japan.
You can acquire kanji reading and writing skills through interactive exercises, all while having fun. By learning proper stroke order, you will also gain beautiful kanji writing skill.

10 new kanji characters are studied per day, so it’s easy to build a good learning habit.
Completed exercises are marked and saved, so it’s easy to keep track of your progress.

Test function can be used to test your kanji knowledge and what you have learned. 
When a kanji is written with improper stroke order, a “re-do” function allows you to learn the correct stroke order.
All kanji practices are saved, so you can start your exercise from where you left off. Memorized kanji characters are marked, so you can visually keep track of your daily accomplishments.

School-use setting (multi-user setting) is now available.
Administrator can enter a password to manage students’ information.

[How to use]
Turn on “school-use” in settings and enter administrator password.
Each student’s name and password can be registered.
Lists of school and student names are displayed. Students can select their name and enter password to start their exercise.

■Practice:
・  Learn to read and write all 182 kanji characters learned by fifth grade elementary school students in Japan
・  Study each kanji’s meaning and how to use it through a variety of example sentences
・  Stroke order is demonstrated through animations
・  Practice correct kanji stroke order
・  Both kanji readings, onyomi (sound reading) and kunyomi (meaning reading), are displayed
・  Each kanji character is practiced 5 times

■Kanji Writing Check:
・  Each kanji writing is checked
・  Practicing kanji have to be mastered before moving on to the next new kanji
・  Correctly written kanji characters are marked, so it’s easy to check your progress

■Kanji Reading Check:
・  Each kanji reading is checked
・  Get both onyomi and kunyomi correct before moving on to the next kanji
・  Kana chart can be used to check your hiragana writing

■Test Function:
・  Writing and reading skills can be tested with randomly selected kanji
・  Total of 20 kanji (10 writing, 10 reading) are tested and scored
・  Receive a medal based on your score
・  Challenge as many times as you like and score 100%

■Additional Test Function:
・  Additional exams are available to strengthen your kanji skills

■Score Function:
・  National score ranking chart is available, and it can be filtered by: age, gender or city
・  “National average” displays national average score, number of registered users and average user age
・  “City ranking” displays average score and number of registered users by city

余計な機能がついてないので、扱いやすくて、良いですね。
漢字の並べ替えも出来るので、習った漢字だけ勉強出来るのも、良いです。
6年生の漢字となると結構難しいのがありますが、書き順も正しく無いと正解にならないので、とても勉強になると思います。

書き順をしっかり書かないと正解にならないため、わからなくなったところは一度練習に戻り、復習をしてからまたテストをさせています。きっちりしているので、この方法でかなり覚えるようです。

高学年になると、難しい漢字が増えますが、ちゃんと書き順まで判定されて覚えられるのでいいですね。
並べ替え機能が増えたり、ピンで苦手な漢字などのチェックも出来て便利になっていますね。
じっくり勉強できて、復習や予習に使える漢字アプリだと思います。
