## What is Kardiacs?

Lose the signal. Keep the group.

Your group can talk, chat and share one live map phone to phone — with no signal, no server and no account. Up to 200 m rider to rider, and further as phones relay it down the line.

Plus everything else the ride needs: offline turn-by-turn, loops sized to your time, smart-trainer workouts that set the watts for you, and a daily readiness call from your sleep and HRV.

RIDE TOGETHER, OFF THE GRID
• Join with a QR code. No account, no signal, no server in between
• Talk hands-free or push-to-talk, end-to-end encrypted
• Everyone on one live map. A run or walk group is paced for its slowest
• What you say is typed into the chat too, for anyone out of voice range
• The leader's route reaches every phone. Anyone can ask for a stop or call for help
• Plan a ride ahead and send the link: where, when, and a code to scan at the start

SAY IT. IT'S WRITTEN DOWN.
• Riding alone? Unmute and talk: the gate, the water, the bad corner becomes a note
• Recognized on your iPhone, and kept there

FIND YOUR WAY
• Got 45 minutes? Get loops from your door, with the climb and effort up front
• Or pick a classic: the best-known climbs, races, gravel roads and trails, with today's conditions
• Every turn spoken aloud, on maps you download for anywhere on Earth. No signal needed
• Wandered too far? Tap back and be home by the time you set
• Commute fast without arriving drenched
• Drive to the trailhead with the same turn-by-turn
• Weather before you go: hourly, wind on your route, UV, air quality and alerts

TRAIN
• Set a goal, from a mile to an ultra or a century to 200 miles, and get a plan that adapts to how recovered you are
• Strength sessions: the plan's lifts with target weight, reps and rest, each set spoken as you go
• You pedal, it sets the watts: ERG control of Bluetooth smart trainers
• Ride any route indoors, from your local loop to the Stelvio: your smart trainer sets every climb's gradient as the map follows you
• Every workout scaled to your own fitness: Critical Power for rides, critical speed for runs
• Build your own, on your phone or on a big screen at app.kardiacs.com
• AI Workout Mixes: a playlist beat-matched to your cadence, made on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence

RECOVER
• Rest day or hard day? Readiness from your sleep, HRV and stress, worked out on your iPhone
• Every session analyzed: power, pace and heart-rate zones
• Every ride says how much of it was new ground, and when it was your best
• Critical Power and W′ learned from every ride, with their likely range; critical pace and VO₂max too

SHARE THE RIDE
• Fly your ride: a video that follows you across satellite terrain, with your photos popping where you took them, ready for your Instagram Story or TikTok

ON YOUR WRIST, ON THE BIG SCREEN
• Apple Watch: zones, turn-by-turn and music, without touching your phone
• iPad shows your library, plan and power curve side by side
• Plan routes on the web with climb, wind and aero drag worked out

WORKS WITH WHAT YOU HAVE
• Apple Health, both ways
• Open FIT, TCX and GPX files, or bring your history from a Strava or Garmin archive
• Send routes and workouts to your bike computer

WHERE YOU RIDE STAYS YOURS
• Your GPS position is stripped from every activity before it syncs
• Planned routes, saved addresses and health data stay on your iPhone
• Group rides go phone to phone. They never reach us
• No sign-up wall. Delete your account, and everything in it, any time

Notes: Group voice needs iPhone 12 or later on iOS 26.4+, with other iPhones; map and chat work with any phone running Kardiacs. Range varies with terrain. ERG and indoor route rides need a Bluetooth FTMS or Wahoo smart trainer. Weather by Apple Weather. Music features need the Apple Music app; AI Workout Mixes need Apple Intelligence. In 23 languages. Ages 16+; 18+ for accounts and structured workouts.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 26.10.4 — 2026-10-27

• Share studio: Share now leads the session's dock. Make a card of the ride as a sticker, a Square or a Story, with the photos from its notes and chat, for Instagram or TikTok. Put live stats over your own video, or share your group's ride or your week
• Flyover your ride: a video that flies over satellite terrain along the roads you rode, with your photos popping up where you took them
• Routes: My Routes is now Routes, with a library of the world's best-known climbs, races, gravel roads and trails. Each says what it is and its best season, checks today's conditions from the weather, and exports as GPX. Long-press a route to ride it outdoors or indoors
• Ride a route indoors: tap Ride Indoors on a route, or pick Route in the indoor Workout menu. Your smart trainer sets each climb's gradient and feels the road's surface, the wind and your weight, as the camera follows you over satellite imagery in 3D. On a treadmill, a run follows the route at the belt's pace
• Goals: set one on the Calendar in five steps, from a Mile to an Ultra 50K on foot, a Century or 200 miles on a bike, or a walking goal. A plan sized to your history lands on your calendar, with rest days every week. Each morning your readiness moves the next five days, and Kardiacs asks before it changes today's session
• Strength sessions: the plan's lifts with target weight, reps and sets, a rest timer on the lock screen, each set spoken, and your lift bests kept
• Mid-ride, Route opens Directions: reorder your stops, add one, or swap the route. At the end of the route the session finishes a minute later, unless you tap Keep Going
• Critical Power: your Profile learns your Critical Power and W′ from every ride, with the likely range, and suggests the one effort that would tell it most
• Plan a ride: pick the time and place and share a link. Riders join by scanning your code at the start
• New ground: the summary says how much of the ride was on roads you had never ridden. Trace Map draws every way you have ridden, with today's new ones in gold
• The summary says when a session holds your best 5 seconds, minute, 5 or 20 minutes, of 90 days or of all time
• The Calendar draws your Power Curve and Grade-Adjusted Pace Curve, its title picks the month or week, and Start asks Indoor or Outdoor
• Kardiacs opens FIT, TCX and GPX files, and Import takes timed GPX activities too. Strava and Garmin archives bring the heart rate, distance and altitude missed before, and Apple Health workouts keep their map
• On a treadmill, a structured run's intervals change the incline, never the belt speed
• An Inbox on the start page keeps the messages Kardiacs sends you
• Photos you take in notes and the group chat remember where; one you share leaves without it
• Settings has Manage Data, and Profile saves as you leave it
• The privacy policy and terms, effective 26 October 2026, cover the share studio and the route library; you will be asked to accept them once
• Bug fixes and performance improvements

### 26.10.1 — 2026-10-13

• Fixes for crashes when starting a ride, or searching for a Directions stop, in a big city centre • An imported activity longer than a week keeps its first seven days, and says so
• Bug fixes and performance improvements

### 26.9.4 — 2026-10-05

• A new look: the map is the page, and a session is drawn in black so its numbers stand out in sunlight
• iPad turns: every screen has a landscape layout, with your numbers in the corner beside the map — made for a tablet clamped in front of a trainer
• Spoken turns name the road, combine turns that come close together, and stay quiet through bends on the same road; the watch keeps quiet while the phone speaks
• Your athlete profile follows your account between devices — the newest edit wins
• Kits are added, edited and deleted in Settings → Equipment, and a kit's changes wait for Save
• Directions breaks a long trip into stops no more than 200 miles apart
• The metrics overlay sets its tiles two to a row, and opening an overlay moves the session's controls out of its way
• Power charts read linearly up to your CP and stretch above it, so easy and hard efforts both have room
• Calendar: Clear All moves to a Danger zone at the foot of the page
• Share App sends its message in your language
• Bug fixes and performance improvements

### 26.9.3 — 2026-09-22

• Walk or Hike, beside Ride and Run on the sport picker: a walk scores on foot, imports as itself, and paces its group as a walk
• Runs are targeted against your own critical speed, fitted from your runs — pace targets, pace bars, the watch and the calendar's critical-pace line all read it instead of borrowing your cycling numbers
• A calendar: every ride, run and walk on its day, with the month's or week's fitness curve under it. Fitness History lives here now
• Schedule a workout, once or repeating, and be reminded fifteen minutes before it starts; Import brings in FIT files or a Strava or Garmin archive
• Planned sessions badge the app icon and the picker's Calendar button, and Upcoming Workouts is on the icon's long-press menu
• Each session's notes and group chat are summarised on your phone by Apple Intelligence into a line on that calendar day — nothing is sent anywhere, and past sessions get theirs on the next launch
• Every session ends on its own analysis, over the route on the map: every chart labelled, and a drag reads any second of it
• Just Ride hands the smart trainer to you — resistance up and down from the session — and structured workouts get an ERG switch, for when you'd rather ride the intervals yourself
• Run or walk together: the group card shows each runner's critical pace, and the group is paced for its slowest runner
• End the group as its leader, or leave it as a rider, from the Group card — with a question first
• Explore only offers loops the chosen workout fits
• A map download can be cancelled, a failed one retried, and every download holds the same map the app draws
• Your first session offers to schedule the next one, or set up a routine
• Delete your account and everything under it, from the Profile page
• The location dot fans a cone the way you're heading, in place of the notch
• A new icon
• Bug fixes and performance improvements

### 26.9.2 — 2026-09-10

• Offline maps for anywhere on Earth: search for a place — Kyoto, Nairobi, Bogotá — and take its map with you, instead of only the ground that happened to be on the list
• Download as much of the map as you like — the monthly and four-at-once limits are gone; every area shows its size before it starts, and a swipe gives the space back
• Chat & Notes, in Settings: every notepad and every group conversation from every ride in one list, to read, export or delete — and notes are per ride now, so a ride opens on a blank pad instead of on March's gate code
• Your ride is written down as it happens. A flat battery, a crash, or iOS reclaiming the app in your pocket used to throw away everything since you pressed start; now the ride is waiting when you come back
• Fitness History draws the shape of the ride: every activity has its own map, read from the file on your phone
• Send a ride to a coach or a club as a FIT file, with or without the track — the switch is off unless you turn it on
• Sixteen more languages: Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, Polish, Dutch, Ukrainian, Swedish, Irish and Tibetan — twenty-three in all
• Any rider in a group can ask for any stop now — a café, a bike shop, anything, not just water and a restroom — and when the leader says yes it goes on everyone's route, not only on theirs
• Choose whether a Wi-Fi Aware pairing lasts the ride or is remembered for good, in Preferences → Wi-Fi Aware Pairing
• The group has its own Lock Screen card when no ride is using the lock screen, and unmuting from there works
• A voice link that has quietly stopped carrying anything is dropped rather than counted as healthy — the group screen no longer says all is well while nobody can hear you
• A new bike arrives in the Garage with its gear already on it, and the kit editor takes more than one change before you save
• Cycling routes read the sign rather than the class: a 25 mph secondary or a 20 mph tertiary is priced like the calmer road it is
• Bug fixes and performance improvements
