## What is Kardiacs?

Kardiacs is your training partner for riding, running and walking — indoors on a smart trainer or treadmill, outdoors on roads and trails. No sign-up wall: open it and start — and your recorded GPS never leaves your phone.

Every workout is personalized. Kardiacs models your fitness with Critical Power (CP/W′) and adapts power targets, pace targets and heart-rate zones to you — from your history, Apple Health, or a quick profile.

RIDE TOGETHER, OFF THE GRID
• Form a group in person with a QR code — no signal, no account, no server in the middle
• Every rider on one map, with their training numbers on their card
• Talk to the whole group hands-free or push-to-talk, end-to-end encrypted
• Group chat with camera photos, over the same phone-to-phone radios
• What you say is written into the chat too, by your own phone — so it reaches a rider your voice can't, and is read aloud so nobody looks down
• The leader's route reaches every phone; any rider can ask for a stop — a café, water, a bike shop — or call for help

NOTES WITHOUT STOPPING
• Not in a group? Unmute and talk: what you say becomes a note, written down on your phone
• Snap a junction or a gate number — a photo is a note with no words
• Every ride's notes and conversations are kept together under Settings → Chat & Notes, to read, export or delete

OUTDOOR SESSIONS
• Explore: drop a pin, pick a workout, and get loops that fit it
• Commute: plan A-to-B routes from stops and saved routes
• Long-press a café, park or bike shop to make it a stop — your route re-plans through it
• Restrooms and drinking water near your route, with one-tap stops through the nearest
• Turn-by-turn cues spoken aloud, on the phone and on the wrist
• Routing runs on your device: download a map, then plan, reroute and navigate with no signal at all
• Take anywhere on Earth with you: search a place, see the size, and download its map — as many as you like

MUSIC THAT MATCHES YOUR EFFORT
• Apple Music controls in your session, and AI Workout Mixes: a playlist beat-matched to your cadence or stride, curated on device by Apple Intelligence

INDOOR TRAINING
• Automatic trainer control (ERG): your workout drives the resistance on compatible Bluetooth trainers
• Treadmill sessions with grade-adjusted pace targets
• A workout library resolved to your own thresholds, or build your own — on the phone or at app.kardiacs.com

WEATHER BEFORE YOU GO
• Hourly conditions, UV, air quality and severe-weather alerts — and on a planned route, the wind against the road still ahead

PROGRESS
• Track your fitness over time: Critical Power, W′, and VO₂max
• Every ride is written down as it happens, so a flat battery can't lose it
• See any past ride on its own map, and share its file — with or without the track
• Your history follows your account to a new phone

YOUR GEAR, ORGANIZED
• Connects to Bluetooth trainers, treadmills, heart-rate monitors and sensors
• Send a route or a workout to your bike computer, and import the rides it records
• Apple Watch companion app for wrist-based control and heart rate
• Saves workouts to Apple Health

WHERE YOU RIDE STAYS YOURS
• Recorded GPS never leaves your phone — position is stripped from every activity before it syncs anywhere
• Speech is recognised on your iPhone; no audio is sent anywhere

Kardiacs is free, supported by ads. Every feature is free; there is nothing to buy.

Notes: Kardiacs speaks 23 languages, chosen in Preferences or from your system. Weather by Apple Weather. Apple Music features require the Apple Music app (and a subscription for full playback). AI Workout Mixes require Apple Intelligence. Automatic resistance control requires a compatible Bluetooth (FTMS or Wahoo) smart trainer. Turn-by-turn guidance requires location access. Group voice needs iOS 26.4 or later on iPhone 12 or newer; other devices still share positions, chat and cards. You must be 16 or older to use Kardiacs; accounts and structured workouts require you to be 18 or older.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 26.9.2 — 2026-09-10

• Offline maps for anywhere on Earth: search for a place — Kyoto, Nairobi, Bogotá — and take its map with you, instead of only the ground that happened to be on the list
• Download as much of the map as you like — the monthly and four-at-once limits are gone; every area shows its size before it starts, and a swipe gives the space back
• Chat & Notes, in Settings: every notepad and every group conversation from every ride in one list, to read, export or delete — and notes are per ride now, so a ride opens on a blank pad instead of on March's gate code
• Your ride is written down as it happens. A flat battery, a crash, or iOS reclaiming the app in your pocket used to throw away everything since you pressed start; now the ride is waiting when you come back
• Fitness History draws the shape of the ride: every activity has its own map, read from the file on your phone
• Send a ride to a coach or a club as a FIT file, with or without the track — the switch is off unless you turn it on
• Sixteen more languages: Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, Polish, Dutch, Ukrainian, Swedish, Irish and Tibetan — twenty-three in all
• Any rider in a group can ask for any stop now — a café, a bike shop, anything, not just water and a restroom — and when the leader says yes it goes on everyone's route, not only on theirs
• Choose whether a Wi-Fi Aware pairing lasts the ride or is remembered for good, in Preferences → Wi-Fi Aware Pairing
• The group has its own Lock Screen card when no ride is using the lock screen, and unmuting from there works
• A voice link that has quietly stopped carrying anything is dropped rather than counted as healthy — the group screen no longer says all is well while nobody can hear you
• A new bike arrives in the Garage with its gear already on it, and the kit editor takes more than one change before you save
• Cycling routes read the sign rather than the class: a 25 mph secondary or a 20 mph tertiary is priced like the calmer road it is
• Bug fixes and performance improvements

### 26.9.1 — 2026-09-06

• Group rides: gather in person with a QR code and ride off the grid together — everyone on one map, each rider's training numbers on their own card, and voice to the whole group, hands-free or push-to-talk, all end-to-end encrypted, with no signal, no account and no server in the middle
• Group chat, with photos from the camera, over the same phone-to-phone links — it reaches riders the voice can't, and every conversation saves to your phone after the ride, never to a server
• Optional Group chat translation when you don't speak the language of others in the group
• Say it and it's in the chat: what you say while unmuted is written down by your own phone and sent as a message, and messages are read aloud to riders who didn't hear you — so nobody looks down • A notepad for riding alone: unmute and talk and your words become notes, snap a photo and that's a note too, then export the lot from the share sheet — it never leaves your phone until you send it • Turn-by-turn cues are spoken now, and say when to get off and walk; Preferences → Text to Voice chooses what the phone reads to you • The leader's route reaches every phone in the group, their start and stop are everyone's, and any rider can ask for a stop — or call for help
• Group voice between iPhones needs iOS 26.4 or later on iPhone 12 and up; live positions, chat and capability cards work on anything Kardiacs runs on
• Kardiacs now speaks German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese — choose one in Preferences → Language, or follow your system
• Send a route or a workout to your bike computer as a FIT course or workout, from My Routes or a workout's page • Import a ride your bike computer recorded, from the share sheet or from Files
• Workouts you write in the browser at app.kardiacs.com arrive on the phone • Your history belongs to your account, not to the phone in your hand: sign in on a new one and the rides — and the fitness curve — are already there
• A bike route that crosses ground you have to walk now says so: a cue ten seconds out, on the screen and on the wrist, with the walk drawn on the map • AI Workout Mixes beat-match for real — a bug had every song playing at its own tempo while the app said otherwise • Album art for streamed songs, an Up Next that tells the truth, and music on the picker's rail
• Explore loops ride each piece of ground once, and may turn back at a junction when that makes the better loop
• A commute plans itself out of the stops you drag into order
• Route estimates ride your own tires and gears, into the day's wind
• The watch saves the ride it actually rode
• Bug fixes and performance improvements

### 1.2 — 2026-08-28

v1.2
• Places on the map: long-press a café, park, bike shop or any named place to make it a stop — your route re-plans through it, or starts from where you stand
• One-tap water and restroom stops beside Play and Stop, routed through the nearest one near you
• Overhaul of music page UX and music play bug fixes
• Name chips over the places a ride cares about, with a callout that knows whether you have a route yet
• Explore now starts from a pin you drop and a workout you pick, instead of searching the moment it opens
• Pick a route and the map fetches the ground along it before you leave Wi-Fi
• Turn-by-turn cues you can feel: the phone buzzes at a junction
• Route times on the Explore screen are your own, over the actual hills
• Bug fixes, performance improvements, and patched memory leak

v1.1
• Reworked outdoor start: pick your sport on a live map that flies to where you are, and stays with you into the session
• The session map now turns the way you're travelling, over terrain drawn from our own elevation data
• Weather over the map everywhere it appears, not just mid-session
• Explore loops and commutes reshape as you ride to hold the distance you chose
• Build a commute out of stops and saved routes
• "Turn around" guidance when you have to reverse, with a stronger buzz on the wrist for turn-now and turn-around cues
• Zone bars for treadmill and outdoor runs, with targets that ramp between intervals instead of jumping
• Your watch wakes and mirrors when a session starts on the phone
• Truer walking paces, and an honest message while the map is still loading
• Bug fixes and performance improvements

### 1.1 — 2026-08-20

New and easier to use UI.
Auto-launch watch to mirror iOS device's route and workout. Provides offline turn-by-turn navigation on your watch.
Better and faster offline routing.
