However, it doesn’t use iCloud storage nor provide any form of export/import of data outside of the app - whilst you can generate a CSV report, you can’t do anything with this. This means if you change your phone - like I did - you have to start over or - like I have - give up as you can’t be bothered to go through all the painstaking setup you thought you’d only ever need to do once. So what would have been 5 stars is 3 as a result. ### 5/5 — A great mortgage tool *2023-05-24, version 2.2* First, thank you to the developer of this calculator. Everyone has been coming to me for their mortgage advice because of this simple tool! It’s still getting 5 stars however, now maybe with the newer iPhones, I can’t see the entire table to the right. It seems to be cutoff. There are plenty of mortgage calculator apps or online calculators out there, but I always find some thing that they’re lacking or that’s annoying about their use. But Karl’s calculator is just about perfect. I love that I can easily create new scenarios and that they automatically save and that I can email them when I’m done and the recipient of the email does not need the app in order to see the summary. Simply click on the attachment and they have a tidy summary of the scenario that I’ve run. I tried reinstalling with the same problem ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2020-09-28* I really like the web site calculator, but this app just doesn’t work properly. Every time I change a value in one field it arbitrarily changes values in another. For example, if I set the initial principal then set the interest rate, it will change the term length. If I then change the interest rate it will change the principal. Sometimes I can’t change a value at all. Very confusing and frustrating as it makes the app useless. **Developer response:** Hi A35Driver, you need to make sure the radio button (small circle) beside Payment is selected. If one of the other radio buttons is selected the app will try to reverse calculate by working out the value for principal, interest or term. You probably want to calculate payment, so the Payment radio button should always be selected. Hope this helps. I’ve used it for two house mortgages running “what-if” scenarios trying to target reasonable early payoff dates and understanding how much money I save in interest I don’t have to pay the bank. The app is easy to use and easy to pivot your payoff strategy when financial changes happen and you have to put less or can put more into the house. Seeing the payoff graphs, tables, and summary views are so nice. I use all the features on this app. The app is simple but powerful. Very user friendly but not underpowered. Great job!
