This version gives me a terrible data loosing bug where uploads will quit abruptly midway though uploading, loosing your pending uploads in the process. Developers not replying to emails about this issue, seems to be a severely under resourced project at this point. It’s too bad Grab is really letting this app go by the wayside ever since they acquired it from Telenav.

When I recoded my trip to an unphotographed area, the OSM login was broken, but I couldn’t wait so I just recorded it all and hoped the app got fixed later. 

Instead, the app got worse. Now it crashes immediately on launch. And there’s seemingly no way to retrieve the images, going on months now. The GitHub issue tracker is unmonitored, and I might have to replace my phone soon. 

What do?

Even with latest app. Waste of my time, goodwill for OpenStreetMap contributions. Buggy app and/or screwed-up server configuration?

Great intentions with this app / project, but I’ve lost now hundreds of GB of tracks with various uploading bugs in the 5.x version of this app. Tracks either get stuck and won’t ever upload, possibly due to some corruption issue. Other times a very large amount of data disappears when beginning an upload and seconds later it’s “finished”. 

Happy to revisit this rating once these issues are resolved, but until then it’s broken for me. I’ll contribute to Mapillary/Mapilio in the meantime until Kartaview resolves these issues.

It asks for permission to access my OSM account, but doesn't go any further when grant it.  I've been trying to make up my mind on whether to use Kartview or Mapillary.  I've decided.

The basic feature of this app - the recording and uploading of street view imagery to KartaView - works great. However, I do have a few things I would like to see implemented.

1. Delete picture-by-picture in-app. I know you can do that online, but I’d like to delete pictures before uploading, for privacy reasons (don’t want to upload photos of my garage)
2. Record while the app isn’t open - this might not be possible, but I swear I’ve seen other apps do it before. Would like to have my map app open while recording, would make this process a whole lot more convenient
3. Auto-detection of street signs hasn’t been working - this isn’t an app-specific bug, just a general bug with KartaView, but I’d love for street sign detection to work again, or at least give an estimate on how long it will be until it’s processed

Overall, great concept, good but slightly flawed execution. Would recommend trying out if you’re interested.

Nachdem Mapillary nun von Facebook gefressen wurde und damit quasi hin ist oder zumindest auf lange Sicht unbrauchbar, bin ich bei OSC. 

Die App hat einige Bugs - aber das Potential ist deutlich und ich würde mich freuen, wenn die Entwickler am Ball bleiben und die App über Jahre pflegen und ausbauen. 

Hier meine Probleme mit OSC:

1. Die App verhindert Auto-Lock nicht. In der Mehrzahl meiner Fahrten wird das Display erst dunkler und dann ist das iPhone ganz aus. Die Aufnahme findet weiterhin statt. Nicht immer … aber relativ oft. 

2. Upload ist manchmal etwas hackelig, da muss ich immer etwas Händchen halten; also häufiger in der App vorbeisehen, wie weit es ist.

3. Auch nach Upload und Verarbeitung kriege ich keine Punkte oder diesen schönen Spielkram als Verdienst. Meine Fahrten sind zwar da, kann sie mir ansehen usw. — aber keine Punkte.

This app would be really cool if there wasn’t so many bugs. When I zoom in on the map, the app randomly crashes multiple times.
Also when viewing the map clicking the centre to location button resets the zoom which means you can’t track your location while zoomed in. I would leave a 4-5 star review if this app was functional at least.

Leider kann man sie dadurch nicht benutzen …

The latest version of this app still has had issues uploading tracks. Often time recordings are lost or will say 100% finished but then never get uploaded, or disappear forever. Grab has really let this app go to hell. It worked fantastic when it was OpenStreetCam under Telenav!

I recorded a large amount of footage about a month ago, and it all got lost during uploading. Today I made 1 big recording to start with (2.6gb), then multiple smaller recordings. The smaller recordings seem to have been uploaded, but the big recording refuses to upload. I’m getting sick of wasting my time.

Aktuell wechseln viele Nutzer auf OpenStreetCam um, da Mapillary nun von Facebook gekauft wurde. OpenStreetCam hat ein großes Potential und sollte mit diesen umgehen können. 

Es gibt ein paar Fehler die ich ansprechen will:
1: Beim Upload stürzt regelmäßig die App ab (3-4 mal pro gb).
2: Manche Tracks sind einfach weg trotz Upload. Meistens nach einem Crash der alle paar min kommt.
3: Die App und die Website ist sehr langsam.
4: Manchmal stürzt die App ab beim starten einer Aufnahme. 
5: Wenig Kontaktmöglichkeiten. Ich würde mich massiv über ein Forum freuen und über eine Kontaktmöglichkeit mit dem Team. 
6:Leider gibt es noch kein so gutes Interface zum weitergehen und umschauen in den Bildern wie bei Mapillary.

Ich hoffe das OpenStreetCam die Gelegenheit nutzt und die Ehemaligen Mapillary Nutzer überzeugen kann.

Trotz aller Fehler ist es ein starkes Tool für Entwickler und OpenStreetMapper.

I have a problem uploading my tracks. Always when I start the upload takes a few seconds and then it starts again and from again.

Interface is very well done and app rarely has issues. Currently points are not calculating anymore but I hope that will be fixed soon. Occasionally the app thinks that the accelerometer is off if you are taking a sharp turn, and the gps locks on weirdly sometimes but other than that it works flawlessly.

I find overall it works well. However there are some bugs when pausing or stopping an upload after its started. I have lost or had to delete tracks because the app just hangs. Future bug fixes please!

For some reason some of recordings does not upload to website (especially while you're trying to upload multiple recordings the first one usually does not available on website). It's really disappointing while the first track was dozens of kilometers in new area.

Die Aufzeichnung auf dem Fahrrad hat prima geklappt. Und auch das Angucken, welche Bilder dabei entstanden sind in diesem kleinen Preview. Generell würde ich ja empfehlen, den Leuten Landscape aufzuzwingen für die Aufzeichnung. Dann macht auch keiner den Fehler so komische Hochkantaufnahmen zu produzieren.

Das Hochladen ist irgendwie defekt, denn der Fortschritts-Kreis geht bis etwa 50% und fällt dann regelmäßig wieder auf ca. 3% zurück. Ich hoffe mal nur die Anzeige ist defekt und der Upload geht trotzdem. Ich lass das jetzt mal laufen... sind ja nur 96 MB bei 0.9 MB/s und prognostizierter Restzeit von etwas über einer Minute. Ich vermute, dass der Kreis irrtümlich den Uploadfortschritt PRO FOTO anzeigt (allerdings falsch) statt den gesamten Fortschritt.
