Its cute and there are no ads. You can test whatever group of characters you want. I’m also learning more words I can practice often like what’s in your bedroom and I can choose to learn colours and so on. Duolingo is a good app but I prefer this for my early level. My only request is to change the message at the end of each lesson from “try harder next time!” to something like “keep going!” or something, as it is sorts of annoying. A practice area for familiarising yourself with katakana before going straight into the test would be really helpful for newer Japanese learners.
