Bloody waste of time **Developer response:** Hi, we are sorry to hear about payment issues. The in-app purchase indeed costs $3,99. If you were charged more, I can only guess that you purchased multiple items on App Store together, not only Katan. In that case App Store would combine purchases. Or it is some other charge. In any case, if it is indeed an App Store charge, I would recommend you to contact the Apple App Store support instead of the credit card provider. They should be able to explain, and issue a refund if required. ### 4/5 — Works well but.... *2019-12-04* The app connects to the photos flawlessly. I purchased the pro version to eliminate the banner but when playing a slideshow, it shows the command bar at the bottom every time a picture change. This is quite annoying as I was hoping it would play the photos without anything else. Maybe an option to show or not show could be offered. Anyway thank you. However, some TVs may overlay additional information, toolbars, etc. when showing images over DLNA. Probably it is the case here. If so, unfortunately this is outside of our control, decided by the TV when it plays images over DLNA. Perhaps it can be disabled in the TV settings. However I created an album in my photos of the photos I wished to project, and the app cannot see the album I created, or any of the other albums I’ve created. It sees only the automatic albums, like bursts, panoramas, etc. Am I doing something wrong? I don’t want to wade through thousands of images when I have just a few I want show. ### 5/5 — 4th time was the charm *2018-12-09* On a whim I decided to figure out how to view photos on our new Samsung QLED TV. I found a couple of articles online and of course the first recommendation had been discontinued. I saw others in the App Store and tried out three of them. They were difficult for me to move through and the instructions were not specific enough for a non-techie like myself. Install/Delete. Then I tried Katan. Such a relief. In a matter of minutes I was connected and looking at lovely photographs from both my iPad and iPhone. Even our dorky Goldendoodle loved looking at big photos of himself. And yes I will pay the $2 to lose the bottom banner. This App is a bargain. One (dumb) question. How exactly do I Exit the app? Hit “disconnect”? When I do that it seems I have trouble reconnecting. **Developer response:** Hi, Thank you for the warm feedback! To stop showing photos on your TV, please open the "Connect to TV" screen using the top left menu button, and "Disconnect" there. You should be able to connect again after that. To actually close the app, please follow the regular iOS way: double-press the Home button (if you have iPhone 8 or earlier) to show all the open apps, and swipe up the app to close it. From iPhone X, put your finger toward the bottom of the display and swipe up to show all the open apps, and swipe up the app to close it ### 5/5 — Iphone в пекло *2018-12-01* Единственное ПО которое работает и выполняет обещанные функции среди всего хлама в аппсторе!!! Я уже 200500 раз пожалел что купил этот огрызок. Такая простая вещь как просмотр медиа и фото на телевизоре, которая в винде по умолчанию ВЕЗДЕ - тут через пляски с кошельком, заплати 1000 рублей в месяц и мы дадим тебе сырое не рабочее гуано. It exits on Windows with the Microsoft Gallery of the live suite for example. (Size constraint, >3000 local photos) Best regards jyf **Developer response:** Hi, thank you for the interest! Real-time animations/effects on the TV would require special software on the TV, developed separately for every TV. This is not something we are planning to do. SlideFlow generates a slideshow video and plays it on TVs (it is not real-time). This functionality does not really fit to what Katan is designed for, would make it much more complex etc. Katan is designed as a photography workflow software: compare and adjust photos.
