I saw some reviewers saying they experienced bugs that made this game unplayable, but I experienced none of those issues. I completed the game with 19/40 achievements on an iPhone 12 Pro with no crashes or issues.

If you’re hankering for a game reminiscent of the OG Sierra point and click adventure games, then look no farther. Kathy Rain is a well-made game that plays great on a touch screen, has beautiful pixel graphics, is fully voice acted, and offers a mild bit of challenge - enough to keep you engaged, but not challenging to the point of discouraging you from continuing. As another reviewer indicated, I did enjoy the story but have a nit with the writer’s reference to Kathy’s past personal decisions being reflected in the form of a haunting past. I don’t think the game is trying to take a hard stance one way or the other, but it did feel a bit odd to experience. That aside, it’s quite enjoyable and worth the cost. For players on newer devices (iPhone X and newer), the game won’t necessarily fit the full screen (there will be letterboxing on the sides), but it still looks and plays great and isn’t noticeable.

Please force dimming off as you have to constantly tap to avoid the dim but screws up the talking in the game.

The game HANGS when you’re on day two after corrupting the computer and pressing the back button. Clyde shows up instantly and after talking the game hangs.

Reminiscent of the Sierra games back in the 90s. Enjoyed the quality pixelated graphics. Had to use walk-throughs frequently to complete the game. The plot was interesting and the ending as well, with one caveat: this review was written by a male, felt like the story in the last half of the game was too heavy-handed in the aspect of sin: especially the abortion issue of the main character. Even though it was more of a side-note, do not know if the developers had an underlying motive. Will not mention my stance on the abortion issue but in the game itself it was used as the main character development. Overall a good gaming experience, worthy of the cost and download.

Die gelungene Directors Cut Version bietet im Vergleich zu der Standard Version, neue Dialoge, Animationen und Spielszenen die dem Spiel meiner Meinung etwas mehr Tiefe gegeben haben. Ein muss für jeden Point and Click Adventure Fan!

Game has several bugs that make it unplayable. Stuck on Day 2 computer puzzle. The game skips through dialogue and I can’t progress.

I was so excited to play this game and was so disappointed. As soon as I reach the police office I encounter a glitch that breaks the game. I’ve looked up tons of walk throughs and even restarted the game. I can’t activate the dialogue needed to progress. Luckily it was only $6.99. Wow.

I read all these great reviews about Kathy Rain and had high expectations.  After completing the first day, my feedback would be.” disappointing.” “ Boring”.  Then I start the second day and the first puzzle is solving a computer issue.  In real life, this has been one of the least enjoyable, most annoying, and exhausting tasks I have had to endure. Be it with a home computer or at work why in the world would I want to do this for fun? So now my feedback has to include words like “exasperating”. Annoying”. 4.99 I’ll never see again…

This “game” is so gd boring I seriously play it at bedtime to help me fall asleep, and that says a lot, because I LOVE point & click adventures, and have loved almost every one I’ve ever played since Maniac Mansion. Here’s the kicker, I paid extra for the directors cut, only to get even more boring dialog, and sleepy music. Seriously, If you’re into point & click, pick this game last, because it is NOT an “adventure”. It’s a gd sleeping pill in app form.

The graphics are pretty bad, even for a retro game. The voice acting (reading from a page) is mostly awful, Kathy is one of the worst ones, and that fact gets much worse when you realize that dialog (voice acting) is most of the game, and she’s in all of it.

 If navigating your way through a world absolutely drowning in clickable objects that have no impact on progress, but trigger bad voice acting to talk about things that you couldn’t possibly care about, and listening to the most boring dialog and corny jokes ever written, just to get a note in a notebook which can be used to trigger more boring dialog & bad jokes is your thing, then Kathy Rain: Director’s cut is for you. Otherwise read on.

It’s an awesome game if you like ’90s point and click adventures, but why is there no cloud save support? Games in the Apple ecosystem should always support cloud saves so we can play across multiple Apple devices. They should also include achievements and cross buy from iOS to macOS. The ecosystem will never be taken seriously if developers don’t support the features and benefits that make it cohesive.

Pour le amateur de Point’n’Click à la Full Throttle ou autres LucasArtsries, vous retrouverez votre madeleine de Proust dans une aventure aux accents de Twin Peaks évidents. L’histoire intrigue, même si on n’échappe pas à quelques poncifs. La prise en main et les énigmes sont « à l’ancienne », ni trop corsée, ni trop simple. J’ai pesté contre qques rigidités de l’interface, comme le fait de manquer certains dialogues en appuyant trop vite. Mais j’ai adoré !

A proper click adventure game with everything you can expect and hope for, from good dialogs, to captivating music, to quality of life features for those times when you end up with trial and error. 

Good mysterious story, decent UI, and a great homage to this genre.

영어의 압박이 있음. 대부분의 퍼즐 난이도 보통. 후반부에 조금 고어한 연출이 있음. 전체적으로 스티븐 킹 소설 읽는 느낌.

I just finished the game, and loved it. In the style of the SCUMM games such as Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle (yes I got the reference 😀), this game is a supernatural point and click adventure game with a complex and memorable story. If you are a fan of point and click adventure games, play this.

Slick! I enjoyed this version even more - much more satisfying ending, cool new extras, loads of fun. I adore this game and hope Kathy has more mysteries ahead of her. Thank you for this version, was a nostalgic and unexpectedly deep experience to play
