## What is Katika Care?

Katika Care helps you and your household track everyday health in one clean, private place.

KEY FEATURES
• Vital tracking — type in blood pressure, weight, heart rate, glucose, temperature, blood oxygen, ECG notes, and HRV by hand, or import them read-only from Apple Health.
• Wellness check-ins — 30-second daily mood, energy, stress, and sleep ratings with built-in streak tracking.
• Household profiles — track yourself, your kids, your parents, or anyone you care for. Each member gets their own profile.
• Caregiver invite — let a family member sign in on their own phone, scoped to just their profile, so their data flows into the household timeline.
• Insights — clean trends, history filters for steps / heart rate / sleep / HRV, and exportable PDF reports you can hand a clinician.
• Privacy first — local-first storage, optional encrypted cloud sync, no ads, no data brokers. Per-member PIN locks let each person keep their own data private from other household members.
• Daily reminders — a friendly 8:00 AM nudge to log how you're feeling. Customizable in Settings.

WHO IT'S FOR
Adults in the United States tracking their own health, or family caregivers tracking the health of someone they care for.

JURISDICTION
Katika Care is offered for use in the United States only. The app is a personal wellness journal, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. All readings are user-entered or imported from Apple HealthKit. For urgent symptoms, call your local emergency number.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-07-01

Katika Care is now more accessible than ever — five App Store accessibility features supported across the whole app — and fixes a long-standing step-count bug so totals finally match Apple Health. Plus polish updates across the reading flows you use every day.

ACCESSIBILITY — NEW
• VoiceOver: every button, icon, and tile now announces a clear, action-oriented label.
• Voice Control: say "Tap Connect Apple Health" or "Tap Start daily check-in" — every interactive element has a recognizable command name.
• Sufficient Contrast: all body text now meets WCAG 2.1 AA contrast minimums on the cream background.
• Differentiate Without Color Alone: status indicators use text and icons in addition to color.
• Reduced Motion: decorative animations honor the system Reduce Motion setting.

POLISH
• Bigger, bolder Katika Care lockup in the home header.
• Splash screen scales correctly on iPhone 16 Pro and newer aspect ratios.
• New About screen in Settings — version, build number, regulatory status, and our data promise.
• Manual Entry redesigned with cleaner spacing and clearer field labels.

RELIABILITY
• Step counts now match Apple Health exactly. Prior versions over-counted 5–20× when iPhone motion and Apple Watch both reported the same activity window. Legacy duplicate step rows are cleaned up automatically on next sync.
• Apple Health sync is more resilient: a single failed reading no longer aborts the whole sync.
• Reminders fire at the correct wall-clock time across DST transitions and timezone changes.
• iHealth blood pressure cuff: improved Bluetooth reconnection after the cuff sleeps.

FIXES
• Pulse Ox: SpO₂ view no longer flashes blank on low-confidence data.
• Scale: body composition tiles render the right unit (kg / lb) per your account preference.
• Thermometer: gauge spans the full color range from hypothermia to fever.
• Plain-language insights: clearer phrasing across BP, glucose, and SpO₂ summaries.

### 1.1 — 2026-06-04

Big update! Katika Care now supports the iHealth blood pressure cuff family with verified accuracy — and Apple Health data finally matches what you see in Health. Plus body composition tiles, redesigned history, and a lot more under the hood.

NEW DEVICES & DATA • iHealth KN-550LT / BPAV40 blood pressure cuff support with verified systolic/diastolic decoding • Body composition tiles on Weight history — BMI, Body Fat %, Muscle, and Body Water % from your Renpho / Eufy scale • Apple Health daily step totals matching Apple Health exactly (no more duplicate-source double counting) • Connected card now shows real summary values ("Today: 348 steps", "Latest HR: 67 BPM") instead of confusing sync counts

REDESIGNED HISTORY • New Day / Week / Month / 6 Month / Year range pills across every metric detail screen — matches Apple Health's selector • Body comp tiles only show metrics that are actually accurate; we don't surface noisy BIA estimates (metabolic age, bone mass, BMR) • Heart Rate chart now fits all samples cleanly — no more dots floating outside the chart area

RELIABILITY • Re-authorize button on Apple Health opens iOS Settings on iOS (Apple intentionally hides the permission prompt after first grant; we now send you to the right place) • Last-sync chip persists across screen revisits — no more disappearing "+1463 steps" counters • Save Reading now saves exactly once across every device — duplicate-tap guard improved across BP, scale, thermometer, pulse ox, glucose, ECG, and manual entry • BP cuff timestamps automatically corrected when the cuff's internal clock has drifted (common after battery replacement) • Retake flow rebuilt for the scale — no more frozen "previous reading" bug after pressing Retake

FIXES • Steps history now syncs TODAY's running total, not just past days • Temperature gauge bar shows full color range (was rendering grey) • Apple Health "Re-authorize" button no longer flashes blank • BP screen now uses the same Day/Week/Month/6M/Y selector as every other metric

UNDER THE HOOD • Build infrastructure hardened: every device save flow now routes through a single race-safe save funnel • Local database keeps stable per-day reading IDs for Apple Health daily totals — re-syncs no longer create duplicate rows • Drift database initialization made more reliable on cold starts
