## What is Kay iSight Test Professional?

The iSight Test Professional app lets you measure and save near and distant visual acuity in children as young as 18 months through to adults using Kay Picture optotypes and Sloan letters.

The app offers a choice of single and crowded presentations and test distances and is simple and intuitive to use, making your testing quick and easy. Test results are displayed in your chosen format and can be saved and exported to a spreadsheet

On the iPad is an option to test vision on any remote device or external screen.

In addition to measuring visual acuity with 6 or 9 Sloan letters, the Kay Picture optotypes* make testing young children and others with a learning disability easy. Plus the app provides unique reading texts in a child-friendly front and fixation targets

*The Kay Picture Test is the only fully-validated picture vision test with accurate, recognisable pictures and evidence-basedcrowding. This app is registered as a medical device.

⁃ Measures visual acuity at various set testing distances up to 6 metres ( 20 feet) on iPad, 3 metres (10 feet) on iPhone) or any custom distance within that range.

⁃ Choice of letters or pictures for testing a range of ages and abilities

⁃ Displays LogMAR notation, plus metric or imperial Snellen, or Decimal

⁃ Records and saves visual acuity results for each eye to a log

⁃ Export or delete saved log of any test results

⁃ Offers various single, crowded and chart presentations

⁃ Six or nine Sloan letters can be standard or optimally crowded

⁃ Reading text and words in twelve sizes from N48 to N5

⁃ Sentences of exactly 50 words to facilitate reading speed testing.

⁃ Lock screen option on reading pages.

⁃ Easy to increase and decrease the size displayed

⁃ Simple to refresh the optotypes or text on screen

⁃ Provides coloured, animated fixation targets to maintain interest and accommodation.

Kay iSight Test Professional is free to download and to use its three-line distance letter test.

To obtain full access to all visual acuity tests, remote testing (iPad only), reading tests and fixation targets you need to purchase an auto-renewing subscription on a monthly or yearly basis.

A 30 day free trial period is available to new users at the start of your subscription to fully test the app before payment is taken.

Price may vary by location. Subscriptions will be charged to your credit card through your iTunes account. Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You will not be able to cancel asubscription during the active period.

iOS 26.2  app is stuck on ‘loading’ after making initial selections.

Tried removing and reinstalling, turning iPad off for a minute and repeating.

I have used iSight for a long time and find to really useful in many settings. Most recently I have used it as part of screening 4 year olds . Children love it and the added fixation targets are helpful for maintaining fixation. I recommend all the students I teach and fellow professionals to use it . It’s always in my pocket too ! Great for assessing near and distance vision

Kay pictures is a fabulous app. It is able to be set at multiple viewing distances and is ideal for use in our remote offices. The app can be used with Apple Air Play or an HDMI connection (with an adapter) to use on a remote monitor. The new version of the app allows scaling so that the images can be adjusted to be the correct size on the remote monitor at the end of the room and the ipad is used as the controller at the exam desk. It can be set up hardwired with the HDMI and adapter or through Airplay on various devices including Roku TV’s. BRAVO!

Best acuity app out there. Lean on it heavily, and have done for years. Great design, reassuring attention to regulatory aspects and great optotypes. This app continues to improve with each release

I’m unable to change the resolution of the lines after subscription. It keeps taking me to test completion. Don’t bother, just print the snellen chart and be done with it.

**Developer response:** Please send a support message via the app so we can understand and investigate the issue you had. We have had no other reports of problems with the app functioning correctly.
