Prices keep going up while the content is less and less. They keep squeezing in more ads. Apple TV app says to enable on location sharing on iPhone even when using Apple TV app and when you scan the QR code it just opens Kayo on iPhone but does not do anything to authorise Apple TV app just opens Kayo on the phone. The Apple TV app should be asking for location services on the Apple TV but it doesn’t. Apple TV has its own location sharing features and should not need to use iPhone. This is becoming ridiculously frustrating and would think a lot of people would be cancelling as this is clearly something introduce to stop account sharing yet it’s impacting all legit account users. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-08-29, version 6.1.1* Glitched AF. ### 1/5 — Disgusting streaming service *2026-08-29, version 6.1.1* ⭐ 1/5 — Paying premium prices for a service I couldn’t even use Absolutely disgraceful experience with Kayo. I’m paying around $40 a month for a sports streaming service, yet when I actually wanted to watch the game I was locked out by their ridiculous account verification system. Kayo demanded that I verify my account. I completed the verification on my phone and was literally told the verification was complete — yet every time I tried to watch the game, I was thrown straight back into the same verification process again. Even worse, the verification emails I was supposed to receive simply weren’t arriving. I changed my password successfully, checked my email repeatedly and followed the process, but still couldn’t access the service I PAY FOR. What exactly am I paying for? People subscribe to live sports services because they want to watch LIVE SPORT. Missing part of a game because your streaming provider cannot get its own account verification system working completely defeats the purpose of the subscription. For the amount Kayo charges every month, customers should not have to waste their time troubleshooting broken verification loops just to access something they have already paid for. The most frustrating part is that my subscription and payment apparently work perfectly fine when it comes to taking my money — it’s accessing the actual service that becomes the problem. This isn’t a minor inconvenience. If a paying customer cannot reliably access a live sporting event when it matters, the service has failed at its most basic job. Terrible experience, terrible verification system and nowhere near good enough for the price. Unless this is resolved properly, I’ll be cancelling. Over priced! And now you constantly have to use your phone to authenticate location. When watching replays, you can’t fast forward anymore, as it forces open an advert and stops you moving the time! Have even deleted and reinstalled the app and keeps happening. Only seems to be when watching live sports. Years on now you still cannot set your sports so you just get whatever is on. You also have the pleasure of joining a Live stream that’s 3mins in by having to see an ad first. God forbid you scrub backwards or forwards, only to have an ad banner take over the screen, you click to start replay, and it returns to where you scrubbed from, so it starts all over again. This is a paid service, not free. Minutes of placeholder screens during add breaks, so you scrub, then halfway through scrubbing the playback, screen changes to an ad banner again. I only subscribe for f1 and for my father, golf. Going elsewhere I think, instead of spending money to waste time. Terrible app experience and getting worse. And yes, all apps up to date, OS up to date. Freezes, log out, doesn’t open regularly. Ironically when there is a big event, happens every time. It’s not my internet because any other app works fine. What other option is there. Because We Don’t Have It! ### 5/5 — Often Unwatchable. *2026-07-04, version 6.0.7* The app kept glitching and freezing on my Android TV. During live sport the vision and sound would un sync, needing a restart. Bought an Amazon Fire Stick and the app still freezes, glitches and goes to a black screen. I regularly have to unplug the fire stick and replug it during matches to stop the glitches. ### 5/5 — Kayo Sports *2026-06-19, version 6.0.6* Free To Air TV Is Here To Stay ### 5/5 — Fantastic Service *2022-04-05* Had my reservations when I signed up to Kayo a year ago but they’ve clearly worked hard to iron out the problems. $25 a month for everything I want to watch, super reliable and convenient, watch what you want when you want…well done Kayo team it’s a fantastic service. Visited the UK not long ago, frustrated that I’d paid for Sky Sports Now TV service only to find you have to wait 24 hrs to watch a full F1 race replay if you missed it like me…not so Kayo, join live or watch from any point in the race at any time or just catch up later. Seriously great app, yes would be good to leave and then resume from same point but hey it’s not difficult or time consuming to fast forward. Again the reviews almost need a reset, this service has clearly come a long way and delivers on a great service for sports loving fans. Well done Kayo! ### 4/5 — It’s Awful *2026-08-07, version 6.1.0* I’ve reviewed before and nothings changed. My Amazon Firestick always updates to the latest version of the app, so that’s not the problem. It’s so bad that I only use it when the NRL game isn’t on free to air. I honestly can’t wait for the end of the footy season so I can get the Kayo app out of my life. It’s a constant source of frustration and stress with its constant glitches and buffering. I couldn’t even watch the Super League replay this morning as the app kept glitching and sending me back to the live NRL channel. My internet is fine and reliable, so that’s can’t be blamed either. ### 4/5 — App Keeps Freezing *2022-08-16* The app keeps freezing and then jumping back 10 seconds every 5 minutes or so. I first noticed this a couple of months ago and I assumed it would get fixed pretty quickly. It has now gone on for too long and is simply annoying. This all is happening whilst you raise the price of your subscription service…. It doesn’t matter what device I am using or the sport I am watching the app just keeps freezing and rewinding. This should be your number one priority to fix. You charge everyone high rates to watch live sport but by the end of a game of footy I am 5 minutes behind the live timer because of how many rewinds they app has done. Also if you are on an iPhone and jump out of the app but then jump back into the app the app will freeze and then crash. This means you need to reload the app and find the sport you were just watching even though you jumped out of the app for 2 seconds to reply to a text. Your app has a lot of bugs and you need to fix it. Cheers ***Update *** since making this review this issue has been fixed. **Developer response:** Hi there, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Please ensure you have the latest TVOS installed, and latest version of Kayo on your Apple TV. A new update is out shortly, so keep an eye on that one too. You can also use Picture in Picture whilst on your phone or tablet if you use the web browser, and that way reply to texts or perform other tasks. We will pass on your feedback, all the best. ### 4/5 — Has potential *2022-07-04* The app has potential but there are some quality of life changes that would bring it up to the next level. Feedback is general for iOS and tv versions It’s 2022, for the price of a sub, I would expect 4K as standard. I know a Foxtel exec probably think it’s a lead generator. it’s not, it just makes the app feel old. There’s too many clicks to get to the sport you want to watch, i.e F1. Go to the top nav > sports > motor sports > F1 > pick event. I would suggest on the Home Screen adding all the favourite categories people select when joining below your live event sections. This way they can always jump straight to the specific sports they want to watch. I like the From Live and From start options but as others have mentioned, the app needs to remember where you left off, especially if you’re switching devices or have to stop. This would be a massive quality of life update. I would expect my Left and right arrows on my tv remote to auto engage the speed. Currently the right arrow brings up event info, I have to tap to bring up the play bar and then use the arrows. I would set it up like Netflix, and default 15 seconds fwd and back when tapped and Hold for fast fwd / bck. Again, reduce clicking and easier. When you’re watching an event on the iPad and want to go back, the button in the top left seems to have a tiny hit box and you really need to be precise when tapping. Would it be possible to make it larger As mentioned I think the app has a lot of potential, I would just go heavier down the customisation route to cater to people who are signing up for specific sports.
