I don’t want sports Notifications. Not interested and I don’t consider it Important news information. But I still get the alert. It’s really annoying. Plus I don’t need an alert telling me to go to the app for the latest digital news. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it several times and it is still there. Then, the notification icon won’t go away. ### 1/5 — TERRIBLE UPDATE! *2026-03-08, version 8.0.0* The new update is awful! You can’t close out of the picture ads. You just have to sit there and stare at a picture until they decide you’ve looked long enough. Then you have to watch ANOTHER ad, but the second one is a video ad, complete with sound, which alerts everyone around you that you’re watching something. The whole thing is a huge no for me. After a decade +, I’m switching to a differed news source. Do not like the headlines in a list with the smaller print, prefer the boxes in the former format. They were much easier to read and scroll through them. I’ve looked at everything and there’s no notice and it won’t clear! ### 3/5 — Requested in-app tracking *2026-03-06, version 8.0.0* The new app seems to be okay, except for two things: 1) At the start of first use, it asked me to enable in-app tracking, and wouldn’t allow the setup to continue until I enabled it. “Allow Apps to Request to Track” is disabled by default in iOS, and the KCBD app doesn’t show up in the list of apps that have requested to track, so I don’t know if I really enabled tracking, and; 2) After tapping on an article, the new app presents an ad, then allows you to continue on to the story (just like the Texas Storm Chasers app - is this from the same app provider?), but unlike the TSC app, a new ad appears every time the screen refreshes, even while in the same article. Pretty annoying, really. ### 2/5 — Rudimentary at best *2026-01-10* The app is terribly designed. It gives “I’m an entry level employee who mentioned being interested in coding to my boss. I don’t actually know anything about it, but I was voluntold to complete this project. I watched free videos online, and this is the best I could do” vibes. You can’t highlight or copy anything to look it up and research further. You can’t click on or expand pictures without exiting the article afterwards. There’s no dark mode. The opening layout is okay, and that’s the best I can say. The basic smart phone consumer has expectations for mobile apps, but this one does not meet them. ### 2/5 — Wayward Notifications *2025-08-31, version 7.0.17* In app notifications give you the option to not receive sports notifications, but app sends you sports information anyway. Also, constantly send health and safety alerts worded to be click bait, not actually helpful information. Wish they would respect my family and me enough to just give the information, like ACTUAL journalists. ### 1/5 — Autoplay *2024-04-07, version 7.0.14* I hesitate to even use this app because it force pauses whatever I'm listening to. Even on iPad it is too small with no way to change. No dynamics.
