## What is Keel?

Keel is the first Malaysian money app built around that difference — so you always know which debt actually matters. Your Atome plan ends. Your credit card doesn't.
Keel sorts everything you owe into three kinds:

FINITE — BNPL & installments (Atome, SPayLater, EzyPay). These end. Keel shows you when.
FOREVER — subscriptions. Keel shows what they really cost you.
REVOLVING — credit cards. The one quietly bleeding interest. Keel flags it first.

WHAT YOU GET FREE

Financial health, honestly scored — Cash Flow, Debt Health, Resilience
Your real leftover each month, and exactly how it's calculated
A timeline of when each debt ends and your monthly load drops
One-tap balance updates and gentle payment reminders

KEEL PREMIUM

An AI coach that gives it straight — "Which debt do I attack first?" "Can I afford this?" Honest answers, no jargon
Your personalised debt-free plan
Monthly or annual. The free tier is real and stays free.

PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE

No account. No bank login. No analytics. No ads. Your data never leaves your phone — there's no server database, so we couldn't see it if we wanted to. The AI coach only receives an anonymised summary: no names, no banks, no account numbers.
Keel is an informational and educational tool — not a bank, lender, or financial adviser.
Built for Malaysia, in Ringgit, for how debt actually works here.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### v1.0.8 — 2026-08-30

Currency support beyond Southeast Asia

Around 36 currencies, grouped by region so yours is easy to find. Amounts now format correctly for each one — including currencies that put the symbol after the number, and the ones that use three decimal places. The six Southeast Asian markets keep their curated bank and provider lists; elsewhere you enter your own, and the Coach says plainly when it doesn't know a market's local specifics rather than guessing at them.

See the payoff, not just the number

Your plan now draws the actual path your balance takes down to zero. On a card, the comparison shows your payment against the legal minimum as two lines — the gap between them is what you're saving. Free accounts see the shape of that saving too.

Coach starts a better conversation

The suggested questions are rewritten around what's genuinely hard to work out alone — where an extra payment does the most good, how much of what you pay is really interest, what's actually holding your debt-free date back — instead of questions you already know the answer to.

A calmer, clearer Keel

New typeface throughout. The health rings and the This Month donut now fill in as you open the screen. Settings is a flatter, quieter list, with your name, subscription and ID gathered under Profile. Headings are no longer set in all caps, and screen headings no longer compete with the numbers underneath them.

Fixes - General

The launch screen looked broken: the Keel mark is dark ink and it was being drawn on a black background, so it was effectively invisible. It now has its own light and dark versions, on backgrounds that match the app.

Keel also stopped showing the launch screen before your data had finished loading, so you could land on an empty-looking Home for a moment. It now waits.

The Coach message box distorted once you typed more than one line, and the send button drifted out of place. Rebuilt so only the text area grows.

Your card's own name was being forced into capital letters on the payoff comparison and payment history screens.

### v1.0.7 — 2026-08-17

This Month — a new tab

Payday, answered in one screen. What came in, what has to go out, what's left.

Must Pay groups everything you owe by what's actually at stake if it slips — from losing your car, down to a subscription that just stops. So when money is short, you can see which end of the list is dangerous.

What's left becomes your spending categories. Unlimited and free — plan groceries, fuel, family, whatever your month actually looks like.

Coach can plan it with you — suggesting how to split what's left across your categories, savings, and extra debt payment, with the reasoning for each. Review, adjust, accept. Premium.

Confirm what you paid. On payday, a quick pass through what was due, so Keel knows where you actually stand.

Also

Assets can now record which institution they're with — EPF, ASB, your bank.

Fixed

Yearly subscriptions were counted at their full annual cost every month. Now they show their monthly share.

Credit card minimum estimates used Malaysian amounts in every market — Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam were all wrong on smaller balances.

Your card's real statement minimum now flows through the whole app instead of being overridden by an estimate, and it's marked when it's gone stale.

Vehicles linked to a car loan weren't appearing in your assets list.

### v1.0.6 — 2026-08-03

Coach is sharper

Coach now works from the same numbers the rest of the app calculates, instead of estimating its own. Payoff dates match your Plan, interest figures are real amortisation rather than rough multiplication, and "what if I paid extra?" gives you precise, consistent answers at several payment levels.

It's also safer about your commitments. Coach now knows what's due and when, and will never suggest skipping or delaying a scheduled BNPL or loan payment — prioritisation is only ever about surplus.

Now available for Southeast Asia

Choose your currency during setup, or change it any time in Settings. Keel supports Malaysian Ringgit, Singapore Dollar, Philippine Peso, Thai Baht, Indonesian Rupiah, and Vietnamese Dong, each formatted the way people actually write it.

Guidance adapts too — payment suggestions are sized for your currency, provider and card suggestions match your market, and debt-counselling referrals point somewhere useful wherever you are.

Setup improvements

First-time setup now asks for your income and expenses, so your leftover and runway are accurate from day one. Setup also correctly resumes if you're interrupted partway through.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-08-01

Upcoming — every payment due next, in one list. Mark them paid as you go.

Theme customization — browse them in Settings → Appearance and preview each one on your own home screen before choosing.

More for free — your debt-free date and your real interest savings, no subscription needed.

3 days free trial — try Premium at no cost. Cancel any time.
