### 2/5 — Cool when it works

*2021-11-15, version 1.3.1*

App doesn’t save lifts or just freezes up while processing lifts. Probably works 1/4 of the time

### 1/5 — Hot garbage

*2020-12-19, version 1.3.1*

Have an iphone 12 pro and this thing crashed three times in a row, wasting 3 sets. Not worth it

### 1/5 — Doesn’t record

*2020-11-21*

Tried many times but still just closes. Terrible.

### 2/5 — Video

*2020-11-05, version 1.3.1*

Doesn't save my video

### 1/5 — Crashes all the time

*2020-10-26*

When it works this app is awesome! the problem is it hardly ever works. Don’t buy any lifts until the developers fix that

### 2/5 — Meh

*2020-06-08, version 1.3.1*

I wanted to pay more attention to my bar path so I tried this and another app. This is the cleanest app and videos are high quality. The problems are:

- schizophrenic filming where the app decides when it wants to work
- if it works, sometimes the tracker doesn’t track
-app does not record half the time and yes:

I’m not getting in the way of the bar tracker and not doing anything to prevent the app from tracking.

I paid for the yearly unlimited filmed lifts (50 videos FILMED, not saved, for the free app) and I don’t think I’ll re-subscribe because the app has missed lifts that I want to review.

Another problem I have is that you cannot upload videos to track, like the other app I tried.

Just a meh app. You won’t lose kilos over not having it.

### 1/5 — Does not save

*2020-05-29*

Worst app ever. Doesn’t save the video 3 times in a row. Doesn’t allow you to apply on an existing video which they could have easily done. They are also stopping the video at every rep you can’t place a camera and film yourself for reps. They start charging after 20 reps which is pretty low thing to do. Do not recommend this

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on I phone 7 or older

*2020-05-25, version 1.3.1*

At leastnit didn’t for me, tried twice to record first time app crashed second time the app said it failed to record. Oh and they charge after 20 recordings. Thanks but I’ll keep using my camera

### 2/5 — What a shame

*2020-04-08, version 1.3.1*

It was a good app. It’s not saving videos and sometimes locks up. Fix it and I might just try it again.

### 1/5 — Lifts won’t save

*2020-03-23, version 1.3.1*

Every time I make a lift it records it and then when I hit stop it just disappears. The bar path is there and everything. It obviously detected the lift but doesn’t get saved anywhere and it still says 20 lifts remaining

### 2/5 — Wish it worked!

*2020-02-13, version 1.3.1*

I was able to record 6 lifts with intermittent problems. Now it doesn’t work at all. Here’s the problem, the app is recording the lift including bar path & speed but it doesn’t “save” the recording to the video library, it’s gone, nothing! Other people at the box have the same problem. When I emailed Throwdown they said it could be the video is too long and recommend no longer than 30 seconds. That’s not problem most recording attempts are 10-15 seconds tops. They haven’t responded to my follow up email. I’m using an iPhone XS Max.

### 1/5 — Requires a subscription with limited uses

*2019-10-11, version 1.3.1*

Iron path pro is outdated but at least it still works once you buy it. This doesn’t even give a reasonable amount of uses

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2019-08-07, version 1.3.1*

App doesn’t work. Tried several time to record my lifts, it said it was tracking the barbell, I hit record, did my set, come back and nothing was saved. Happened several times in a row. Running on a XS max.

### 1/5 — Not even worth testing

*2019-07-20, version 1.3.1*

Got this app to scrutinize my form on Olympic lifts. First 5 attempts the app recorded the lift, froze, and then crashed. Not helpful at all

### 2/5 — Great concept, but doesn’t always work.

*2019-06-16, version 1.3.1*

This is a great concept. When it works it is amazing. However, it only works 30% of the time. I’m bummed that I wasted my money on a 1-year subscription and will not renew.

### 1/5 — Doesn't save videos

*2019-05-28, version 1.3.1*

I started recording and when I was done with my set, I went to go hit the stop recording button, but I hit the lock button on my phone on accident and it didn't save the video. I was like, ok that was my fault. But then the next set I when I went to hit the stop record button, I guess the app didn't like that I got in between the phone and it's view of the barbell and just canceled the video, so It didn't save. It shouldn't stop recording/delete the video just because it can't view the barbell anymore. I'll keep the app in hopes that the developers fix this issue since it's a great concept, but I won't be using this app till then.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App won’t record/save and crashes

*2024-05-12*

App appears to not have been updated 7/8/9 iPhone. Tells me my iPhone 13 isn’t new enough to auto process data, doesn’t process the video at all, and crashes every couple of times even trying.

### 1/5 — Keeps Crashing

*2023-08-08*

App does not work and just crashes. Waste of space

### 1/5 — Keep getting an Invalid writer message

*2023-03-18*

This app seems easy to use, except I keep getting invalid writer message and no recordings. There is also no message on the app that helps you correct your mistakes and there is no actual account page that gives you information on what you purchased. Don’t use this app. Waste of time and money and just frustrating.

### 1/5 — App crashes every time I record even one rep

*2023-02-23, version 1.3.1*

After capture it says processing and app hard crashes (has to be reopened) with nothing saved to the library, bravo!

### 1/5 — Can’t even save a set

*2022-09-14, version 1.3.1*

Twice in a row, after completing my set, I go to stop the recording and the app crashed without saving the recording. Really infuriating. There needs to be the option to natively record a video then upload it to the app for analysis. Really not good to not even be able to see once how the analysis works, let alone my own bar path.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work (I’m using an iPhone 11)

*2022-03-10, version 1.3.1*

The app says that it’s intended for iPhones 8 and up and I have an iPhone 11 unfortunately that doesn’t help. Difficult to detect the barbell and when it does and then I’m done recording it has never saved once it either kicks me out of the app or the video just isn’t in the library or saved anywhere.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-09-27, version 1.3.1*

Looks like a cool product- doesn’t record or save lifts. Tried like five times and each time would come back to push stop record and it did nothing. iPhone 11max pro.

### 1/5 — Constantly crashes

*2021-05-07, version 1.3.1*

Nice in theory, when it works. This version always crashes and can only get a recording every once or twice during a session with crashing and having to restart

### 1/5 — Goofy subscription service

*2021-04-28, version 1.3.1*

Why can’t I just pay one time and use the app as much as I want? This is absolutely ridiculous

### 1/5 — Do not download

*2021-04-08*

Doesn’t work on ip 11.
Garbage app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Bar path app

*2021-07-05, version 1.3.1*

Awesome app to track your bar path! And the auto-detect reps option is crazy! Great app get it!

### 5/5 — Great app for lifters

*2019-05-17, version 1.3.1*

If you don’t have regular access to a lifting coach, this app is a great tool for self-coaching! Highly recommended 👌

### 5/5 — The perfect app for weightlifters

*2019-02-28, version 1.1.2*

Personally as a coach less lifter this app has helped immensely in correcting my bar path and showing me where my pull goes awry.

### 5/5 — Every lifter needs this

*2019-02-06, version 1.1.1*

I remember when apple did it’s presentation that they do every year for new products and they had a similar app on their presentation. That app was for basketball players and i remember thinking ‘how cool would it be if they made one for lifting’ and somebody did!

I’ve used this once so far and keelo lift is going to be a staple in my workouts. I’m a member of two programs, both have Facebook groups. One has 2000 members and the other about 300, I’ve already recommended it to both groups. And I’m going to keep on recommending it to everyone.

### 5/5 — Amazing tech right on my iPhone!

*2019-01-30, version 1.01*

I’ve always wanted to know how to improve my lifts when someone isn’t always watching. This app helps me to see clearly if I’m keeping the bar close to me and bringing it to my hips. Something I need to work on as the weights get heavier. Really cool to see the path and colors to note what I’m doing right and what I can improve!

### 5/5 — This app fixed my form

*2019-01-29, version 1.01*

Finally there’s an app to monitor and correct my weightlifting form! It’s like I was lifting wrong this whole time (too cheap to pay for a trainer!). Can’t wait to see if this has a noticeable affect to my training.

### 4/5 — Useless

*2023-06-24*

If it stays open long enough without crashing, it won’t record.

### 4/5 — Works well!

*2020-08-15, version 1.3.1*

Great app. My only criticism would be the location of the camera button. I put the phone in my shoe or prop it up against something and the button at the bottom of the screen is hard to get to. If the button were at the top it would be way more convenient

### 3/5 — 2nd Attempt with Keelo Lift

*2019-06-03, version 1.3.1*

I had trouble previously with the app working with my iPhone 7 Plus. Upgraded my phone to the XS Max and was excited about being able to use the app with my upgraded phone. Unfortunately, as recently as this morning, there were issues with the app not saving videos. I attempted to record lifts no less than 10 different times and the app would show it was recording but when I pressed the button to stop recording it’s like there was never any recording happening and nothing shows up in my list of videos. PLEASE HELP! I really, really want this app to work!

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for your review. Because of the high computing requirements, we recommend running Keelo Lift on iPhone 8 or newer devices. It should work on iPhone 7 devices with some optimizations, specifically making sure there is enough free storage and no other apps are running. Please let us know how we can help further by reaching out to us at feedback@keelo.com

### 3/5 — The good and the bad

*2019-05-18, version 1.3.1*

I love the idea of this app. As a frequent gym goer it’s helped with my lifts tremendously. The only issue is half the time it goes to “process” the video the app crashes or just gives up during the processing.
