## What is Keep Above?

Most budget apps grade your past spending. Keep Above plans your future — a budget app and bill tracker that shows, at a glance, how close your balance is to safe: the point where every upcoming expense is covered — and how much is truly yours to spend.

Add your recurring bills. Add your income. Keep your balance updated. That's the whole routine — Keep Above does the math and draws the picture.

Your balance lives on a simple status bar. In the safe zone, every upcoming bill is accounted for — anything above it is yours to spend or save. Below it, you see exactly how far you are from safe, so you can ease off before a bill lands short.

No logging every purchase. No category budgets to balance. No receipts to scan. No "you spent $47 on coffee" guilt-trips. Free to use, with an optional Premium plan.

HOW IT WORKS

Keep Above uses sinking funds — a classic method for preparing for irregular expenses. Rent due next week? The bar already accounts for it. Annual subscription in five months? We track how much should be set aside today.

Every day, the app recalculates where "safe" sits from the bills and income you've entered — so you always know where you stand, what's spoken for, and when your next pinch point is.

There's no expense diary to keep — day-to-day spending already shows up in your balance, so updating that one number refreshes the whole picture.

NO BANK LINKING. EVER.

Keep Above is manual-entry by design. We never ask for your bank login, account numbers, or card details — we don't connect to your bank at all. You enter what you want to track.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.3.10 — 2026-08-26

- Large screens: On a tablet or iPad the app now lays out against a wider canvas instead of scaling a phone screen up, so text and controls sit at their intended size and every screen shows more at once.
- Calculator keys: The clear and bracket keys on the calculator and the amount keypad now show their labels.
- Category bands: In the transaction lists' category bands, the smallest categories now draw as small rounded pills instead of thin slivers at the edge.

### 2.3.9 — 2026-08-22

- Savings goal outlook: When the deposits set on the outlook wouldn't reach the goal within the projection's ten years, the page now says exactly that.
- Months to clear: A card within a month of its projected payoff now reads "under 1 month to clear", and a single month reads month, not months. The savings months-to-goal line follows the same rule.
- Credit fluid level: A credit account's focus view now drains its fluid in proportion to what's owed — a nearly-paid card shows a thin band at the top instead of a large block.
- Savings fluid level: The fluid on a savings account now rises in proportion to the goal amount, so a small balance reads as nearly empty instead of nearly full.
- Occurrence edits keep their labels: On the occurrences list, the change-scope options now always show the action you chose — a background refresh no longer swaps a date change's buttons for delete ones.
- Rate App on iPhone: The Rate App button in the menu and the feedback prompt's review step now open the App Store review page on iOS.

### 2.3.8 — 2026-08-17

- Three more tools: Power costs puts two appliances side by side from their wattage and how long you run them, at your own rate per kWh. Cook it or buy it sets the same meal made at home against one bought. Cost of a pet adds up food, vet, insurance and the rest over the years you've had them. Tools is now twenty-eight, nineteen of them free.
- Far-off days on the calendar: On a credit or savings account, tapping a calendar day more than a year ahead opened the current month. It now opens the month you tapped, right out to the end of your projection range.

### 2.3.7 — 2026-08-12

NEW · Tools
A whole Tools section, reached from the dashboard — 25 tools, from quick calculators to read-outs of your own numbers. How long your balance lasts, what an hour of work buys, what owning something costs a year, trip money, and more. 16 are free; the rest come with Premium.

NEW · Compare tools
Nine of them put two ways of covering the same need side by side — new or used, own or hire, repair or replace, rent or buy. Each shows both figures and leaves the choice with you.

NEW · Works offline
Changes now save on your device even without a connection, and sync when it returns. A banner shows while you're offline.

NEW · Currencies
A currency for the app — 147 to search from — and any account can carry its own. Figures stay as entered; the currency changes how they're shown.

NEW · Settings
Choose how thousands are grouped (10,000 or 10 000), and how many days an unpaid bill keeps counting against the balance — one to seven past its due date.

IMPROVED · Savings goals
What a goal has saved so far can be set to any amount up to its target, straight from Reserved funds.

FIXED
A goal created with money already saved now shows exactly what was entered.

### 2.3.3 — 2026-07-28

-New dynamic save-up and pay-off planners
-Bug fixes
-UI improvements
