### 3/5 — Très bonne app, dommage pour l’abonnement

*2025-07-28, version 2.6.6*

### 3/5 — Lifetime purchase

*2025-04-11, version 2.6.2*

Why offer a Mac app purchase option then only a iOS subscription option. Double dipping. Little frustrating

### 4/5 — Wäre wirklich gut, wenn…

*2024-11-09, version 2.5.4*

Spokojeně ji používám už množství let a vyhovuje mi dostatečnou šířkou vlastností a velice rozumnou cenou předplatného (nutné kvůli synchronizaci).

Aplikace svou podstatou a možnostmi nastavení a organizace poznámek zcela vyhovuje metodě organizace PARA metodou (kterou jsem objevil díky skvělé knize Tiaga Forteho Pořiďte si druhý mozek), takže ji v tomto ohledu dokážu používat téměř naplno.

### 2/5 — Almost perfect, yet totally knee capped by ridiculous limitations

*2023-03-29, version 2.2.4*

Almost perfect, yet totally knee capped by ridiculous limitations.

1) Why can’t you save webpage articles at NOTES?!?! You can only save them as PDF, or Web Archives. As a result you then have to manually go to each saved web-archive and convert it into a note so you can edit it. It’s completely absurd. For this one reason I’ve decided to end my subscription and use something else.

 2) There are a number of bugs on MacOS, and extremely limited functionality in iOS.

3) no matter how many times I change the default font size for notes, when I open a new note and start typing the text is incredibly small.

### 3/5 — Latest version crashes

*2023-03-09, version 2.2.2*

Latest version is crashing on contact. Please fix

### 4/5 — New notes all with TONS of potential!

*2022-10-20, version 2.0.13*

I’ve used Evernote, OneNote, Apple Notes, Craft Docs, Google Keep, and Notion. Some key features put this way above other similar note taking apps. Well worth the price of admission. I’m impressed! But this is still a very new app and has some flaws you should be aware of.

- - Tons of note organization options. Folders, Tags, Bundles, Favorites and Colored Labels!

- - The ability to directly add a photo or document to start a new note which reduces friction in your workflow.

- - Good Rich text implementation.

- - Simple UI and clean layout despite some more advanced features

- - Mac App which syncs with iPhone

- - Excellent ability to sort/filter your notes in a way I’ve not seen done before called “Saved Search”. This is powerful.

However, there are a number of issues that prevent me from replacing my current primary notes app.

- - There are syncing issues, specifically connecting to iCloud. The app always feels like it is refreshing in the background and syncing changes seems slow, as if the server is taking a long time. It also constantly displays a syncing progress bar for a hot second. It makes it feel rough around the edges.

- - When picking up the app and quickly adding a note, I often don’t know where that note landed. It would be really nice to have an “inbox” for new notes to default into, unless a specific folder is chosen. The notes could be sorted into an appropriate folder from there. I don’t always remember the last folder I was in last.

- - There are certain options that should be set as defaults such as iCloud sync and sorting notes by “last modified” but you have to select these options.

- - There is a lack of “polish” that can be seen. Some animations are jerky. Things taking a second to load in, the typing cursor slightly hesitating before moving, the search bar popping into view abruptly before it has been asked to join the party. Note: These could be iOS 16 issues because they don’t appear on the Mac version.

- - Lastly is a personal nitpick. The app icon looks like it is an app used by teenagers to put makeup filters over their photos. It does not look like a quality note taking app icon.

This app is less than 1 year old at the time I’m writing this review. I am very eager to see where the developer Steve Harris takes this app. If the things I mentioned get ironed out, this app should explode with users over the next 2 years.

### 2/5 — Buggy, slow and inconvenient

*2022-08-28*

The app is slow. It’s the slowest app ever made. While scrolling saved items it always freezes.

Saving webpages takes lots of time: save and need to wait for 5-10 seconds. Other read later apps save everything immediately.

Almost always can’t save images when I save a webpage as PDF. If can than it saves only half of images.

Links aren’t clickable if you save a webpage as PDF.

Folder names are in one line only. It’s super inconvenient. Developer could add an option for this so you could change this.

Saved file names are also short. You can’t see whole file name in a list.

Super short field for adding notes (description) for saved files.

### 3/5 — mitigé

*2022-08-25, version 2.0.9*

### 5/5 — Awesome 😎👍🏻

*2022-08-20*

I really think this app is awesome I have it in the mac and the iPhone. I like to save things for offline The search is great. I can search for a word and it will find it and even highlight the word. It even can find searched words on a PDF file. I mainly save web pages from safari using the share button and save for offline use. You can also add files and can make notes too I created folders and bundles within the folders. Basically a bundle is like a subfolder. By the way the sync has been flawless. It syncs perfectly between my iPhone and Mac. I am very happy with this app and after the 2 week trial I intend to pay for a year subscription for both the iPhone and Mac. It also works on the iPad too but I am waiting for the new iPad with the mini LED and then I will use this app with that.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work well

*2025-10-02, version 2.7.2*

It is unreliable and traps your files in the apps’ iCloud.

I hate this app sooooooo much because no matter how hard I try it will never NEVER download all the files in the app to my device.

Is that REALLY SO MUCH TO ASK? Or are you just trapping people in your app?

You can SET the app to download all files and then watch it fall all over itself for weeks waiting for stuff to download while other things disappear from the device.

I. HATE. THIS. APP.

### 1/5 — Gets worse and worse.

*2025-09-04, version 2.6.8*

It's literally unusable now. It opens to a previously opened item and I'm totally unable to browse my library or view anything even after force quitting the app.

### 1/5 — Subscription based for mobile

*2024-12-15, version 2.5.5*

The desktops application with a full purchase option is great. The mobile application with subscription only, or the desktop license not being applied is unpleasant.

I have no issue with supporting developers financially, I have an issue with an application that becomes a brick without continual financial payments, or that use mobile access as a means to force a subscription.

Don’t tell me it doesn’t cover costs, just jack up the full purchase price so that it does cover development costs.

### 1/5 — Too bad

*2024-10-23, version 2.5.3*

I have to pass on the Mac version too, since the iOS version cannot be purchased.
Garbage subscription only, cannot buy it.

### 1/5 — Subscription required

*2023-05-20, version 2.2.7*

No lifetime option available.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t reliably import

*2022-11-16, version 2.1.2*

Well designed app only limited by the fact it doesn’t reliably import.

### 1/5 — Doppeltes Abo-Modell

*2022-11-05, version 2.1.1*

Unterschiedliche Abo-Modelle für ios und Mac? Was soll denn das? Sorry!

### 1/5 — Problems with sync

*2022-07-23, version 2.0.5*

Looks like a nice app, and just what I need. But sync doesn't work reliably for me. I contacted the developer, and was helpful at first, but then stopped replying to me. So I no longer use the app, which is a shame. If you can't rely on items you add syncing reliably then you can't trust it with your data.

### 1/5 — They force you to pay after 14 days…

*2022-03-05*

I signed up to check this app out as a replacement to Evernote. I composed a few notes and linked a couple of website the first couple of days. I came back to it a couple of weeks late when I had more time and have no access to the notes I created. The only way is to but the premium and it does not matter if you delete the app and reinstall it.

I am concerned about an unknown app developer like this who can lock your data without you having any access to it. I understand they need money but give us limited access after 14 days so some of us can make a better informed decision.

AVOID and choose an app that has more integrity.

**Developer response:** Keep It does not offer a free tier, so the trial period is the only time you can use the app without a subscription. You can choose a monthly subscription for extra time, and that can be cancelled before the month ends to avoid an ongoing commitment. If the free trial or a subscription has expired and you do not wish to continue using the app, you can export all your files by tapping the Export Files button at the bottom of the subscription prompt. Files also remain accessible in the Files app for as long as the app is installed.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2021-04-25, version 1.10.5*

I tried this app for the second time and it crashes immediately after I’ve turned on iCloud sync. Moreover it requires two subscriptions for Mac and iOS. What’s a shame.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Everything that is in Notes, and Much More

*2026-06-07, version 2.8.5*

This is an excellent app; all the flexibility and usefulness of Apple's Notes, and more. Plus's, the icon is easy to find on the bottom of the screen.

### 5/5 — The perfect app for managing scanned private documents and bring them everywhere with you!

*2026-02-03, version 2.7.8*

I have been using it for 15 years. I don’t know how I would do it without it. This app is for me a must-have. It does perfectly what is supposed to do.

### 5/5 — Simple, better than just file folder or notes

*2026-01-31, version 2.7.8*

Replaced Evernote for me. Notes, or Files or the Finder don’t have the same simple organization features. For example I can merge multiple files in a few taps. Developer is responsive and the app performs really well through different OS versions.

### 5/5 — Awesome app to replace DevonThink and Evernote

*2025-09-13*

I've used the app in the past, and needed text search within PDFs and images and a way to share with other users and access files on both PC and Mac. At the time, Evernote was the obvious choice but Evernote's been struggling for years now. I tried DevonThink for two years at great expense, but the interface was overkill and I had recurring import issues (files would get imported multiple times or not at all). I'm happy to say that Keep It has now replaced both, it searches within files better than the iOS Files app, you can share with other users, and the mobile app is mature enough that I can use that and just email the file to myself if I need to access the notes on a PC for some reason. A few things could be done in less taps (would be nice to have search from the main screen, long press to add tags, stuff like that) but the app performs well. (Sometimes iCloud will get bogged down when messing with a large number of files at once but that's an iCloud issue and usually resolves itself.) Great work and thanks for the continued improvement!!!

### 5/5 — Excellent (+ simple, but powerful) File Management App

*2025-07-26, version 2.6.6*

Huge fan of this app. It's a simpler, more intuitive version of DEVONThink that keeps all my files synced, and easy to locate. Excellent shortcuts support too which means I can easily save email attachments exactly where they need to go with 3 taps of a button.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2025-01-21, version 2.5.6*

Had a small issue with syncing folders. Reinstalled the app and everything was just fine. Top support. Best app to organize my stuff👌

### 5/5 — Getting better and better

*2024-09-25, version 2.5.1*

This app is getting better and better with time, showing the dedication of the developer. It now mostly replaces Evernote for me, and I’m looking forward to its bright future.

### 5/5 — The everything bucket

*2024-01-02*

This app is great. You can save literally anything- all file types, notes, audio, video etc, organise them using a plethora of options such as folders, tags, labels, bundles, saved searches. And search is smart. Sync with other devices has improved a lot over the years and now works like a charm.
Best part is that it’s private and local, and very cheap. Kudos to the developer for consistently making this app more feature rich, stable and useful. Thanks Steve.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2023-10-19*

I have been going back and forth between Keep It and DevonThink to organize files and documents and, for my needs, Keep It has been more than enough. It works very well and I have found many uses for it. For one thing, I keep all of my manuals for everything I own in Keep It and easily search for whatever I need. I find answers immediately.
I have begun moving my notes from other apps into Keep I and I label and tag them and they are easily searched. It’s a very well made app that is a pleasure to use. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Perfect app

*2023-01-18*

I love this app. It’s simplified my life so much. I’m a writer and I like to clip and save things (pics, videos, articles, quotes) that I come across. This makes all that possible, and then everything is on my MacBook instantly. The only nitpicky thing I would want to see is a way to add a brief note to an uploaded pic or video. Ex. If I’m on the internet and I come across a pic that’s relevant for something I’m writing, I’ll screenshot it and upload it to a Keep It folder. But I’d like to be able to add a quick note along with the image or video so when I look at it later, I’ll remember why I clipped it and what I wanted to do with it. I know there’s tags but that is more of a sorting feature. I need to be able to write a note along with pics and videos. The tags are fine for sorting. But a little note section would be good. And I know you can add pics etc to a note you started, but that’s not helpful if I’m starting with the pic or video from a screenshot. Edited: thank you for the tip! Works perfectly. This is now a perfect app. Thank you for taking the time to help. Creators like you deserve success :)

**Developer response:** Hello, you can add comments to an item: tap the (i) button above the image to see the Comments field. You can also show the Comments field in the Share extension, if that's one of the ways you're adding things to the app: tap the gear icon above the Lists view, tap Settings, and switch "Show Comments for Files" on. Then, when you tap the Share button in another app and choose Keep It, you'll be able to add the comment when you save the item.
