### 2/5 — Minimal functionality

*2026-08-23, version 1.30.0*

Well, this app provides the bare minimal functions for you to setup and use the KEF speakers. This is really a shame since the speakers themselves are quite good but the app does not do them any justice.
It is not straight forward in the app to find my locally stored music. Once I find them, it is easy to add them to my play queue, however, this queue can’t be saved and it seems to be limited to 10 songs only even though it shows it can go up to 1000.
I would not recommend to use this app to play music, only use it to setup the speakers.

### 2/5 — Good speakers terrible app.

*2026-07-25, version 1.29.0*

One of the worst apps I have on my phone. It either doesn’t recognise the speakers or if it does the buttons are just greyed out with a spinning wheel of doom. The only way to get them to connect is to turn them on with the supplied remote and then the app will work.

### 2/5 — Lag

*2026-07-12, version 1.29.0*

The volume control on the Kef Coda W is very laggy and therefore very annoying. Doesn’t matter if I’m close to the speakers or not.

### 2/5 — Wtf is going on

*2026-07-03, version 1.29.0*

Spend £900 and spend hours trying to get the speakers to update. Still not working. Will prob have to send them back. Absolute rubbish. LSX LT II

### 2/5 — Good Speakers. Bad App.

*2026-05-28, version 1.28.2*

Disappointing to have such quality speakers yet such a poor app experience. KEF hire me and let’s fix this <3

### 1/5 — Awful connectivity management for LSX II

*2026-05-25, version 1.28.2*

Bought speakers from Costco, past 3 month mark for return window. Apple Airplay is hit or miss and I’m wired Ethernet for both Apple TV and Speakers. $700 of frustration!!!

### 2/5 — Great hardware ruined by terrible software

*2026-05-22, version 1.28.2*

The acoustic engineering of these speakers is actually quite good—the sound quality is solid for the price, especially when it works. However, the software architecture is an absolute nightmare.

The KEF Connect app constantly loses connection to the speakers for no apparent reason, requiring a full, frustrating 20-minute re-pairing and reconfiguration process way too often. Even without any internet drops or router issues, the app simply fails to "see" the speakers on the local network.

Since critical DSP functions and subwoofer settings are locked behind this app, any network dropout makes the entire system unusable. If you are looking for a reliable, plug-and-play audio experience, avoid these until KEF completely refactors their network stack and app stability. Great drivers, garbage software.

### 2/5 — Still doesn’t work

*2026-05-21, version 1.28.2*

Updated both firmware and application. Have super fast broadband and *still* the app will not connect to the speakers more than 10% of the time. Really unacceptable. Wish I’d gone Sonos.

### 1/5 — Online account required??

*2026-05-20, version 1.28.2*

Apparently you have to sign up online in order to use KEF LSX II LT speakers. I’m returning it back to the store as defective, because it’s a fatal flaw that prevents me from using the speakers.

*2026-05-17, version 1.28.1*

### 2/5 — Mac and iPhone

*2026-05-16, version 1.28.1*

I just bought the KEF LSX II LT from Costco for $500 and had no idea how to connect them to my Mac mini. Once I found out there’s this KEF Connect app I went to the App Store to download it - it said for iPad, not Mac. After downloading it to my Mac mini I couldn’t get the speakers to connect, so I downloaded the app on my iPhone too. It took a while, but the speakers finally connected to the iPhone, which then led to the Mac mini being able to use them. It took some patience and the use of AI to help troubleshoot. In the app there’s a normal and expert mode settings, and I recommend going through both to see what’s best for your setup - my factory setup was terrible, making me feel like I wasted $500 for what was supposed to be great speakers for their class. After a little fine tuning with the help of AI, they sound much better. Unless you’re an audio tech person, you’ll probably want some AI help in figuring out what the sounds settings are for and how they impact the result, as the app doesn’t give that sort of help. Good luck, and be patient for it to all come together!

### 1/5 — Inutilisable pour les ls50 w.I

*2026-05-16, version 1.28.1*

### 1/5 — Patronnnne

*2026-05-16, version 1.28.1*

What Supporzs
Spend over $7,000 in cash and this is what you, JACK SQAUT, NOTHING, NADA. Except you were, swindled, cheated, bambuzeled, raped, lied and cheated, but you sure get a 1st class A.. F..k You get to register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and then you will register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and then when you are almost finished you get to register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register and register.

### 1/5 — Very disappointed with their product

*2026-05-16, version 1.28.1*

I’m using LSX II LT, it worked perfectly fine previously despite type-c connect issue(once connect, it maxed out your volume)

The recent update makes my $7k speakers unusable. Cannot connect properly- not showing the primary wifi nor successfully connect.

You think you can use it with physical cables? No, they won’t even let you play your music with HDMI/type-c cables.

Already tried to reset all settings including speakers/router/etc. but it wont play at all.

How come you update your app and costs all there problems? A speaker cannot do it’s one main job - to play some sound? Where’s your internal QC and SOP before releasing the app?

### 1/5 — Indigne de KEF comme Apps

*2026-05-16, version 1.28.1*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — app is terrible

*2026-08-30, version 1.30.0*

I am totally committed to the KEF ecosystem. I have three pairs of speakers and 2 KC 62 subwoofers. the app barely connects to the speakers. reset. factory reset. another reset. delete app. update app. new cables to connect my ‘wireless ‘ system to both speakers and the router. go on forums . try to connect to this broken app.

### 1/5 — Kef coda w

*2026-08-05, version 1.30.0*

I’m using a KEF Coda W with the KEF Connect app. I cannot change the primary speaker assignment (left/right). The app does not allow me to switch the primary speaker from left to right or vice versa. Is this a bug or is there a way to fix it?

### 1/5 — Lost connection

*2026-08-01, version 1.30.0*

When you needed it the most, they always felled you. 50% of my time is trying to connect, what a thousand door trash. This is the first and the last of KEF ever, I’m DONE.

### 1/5 — Clunky and Broken

*2026-07-23, version 1.29.0*

Purchased the LSX II LT speakers months ago and have had nothing but issues with the software. Even when connected directly via USB-C you are required to setup the speakers first via the KEF Connect app (which is mostly impossible) and even when connected properly the app features are limited (for some reason). Dev team refuses to update and improve.

### 1/5 — Took away access to all settings

*2026-07-19, version 1.29.0*

After some recent update the app no longer lets you change settings like whether the speakers are hardwired to one another or invert the left and right side

*2026-07-03*

### 1/5 — Größter Müll

*2026-06-25, version 1.29.0*

Kauf euch kein KEF IHR WERDET ES BEREUEN!!!!!
15 k Für die Tonne
Drecks Lautsprecher

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2026-06-03, version 1.28.2*

Like many other users, this app simply doesn’t work as it should. You buy a premium set of speakers, and you get to watch them crash down without being able to listen to music. I’ve had my speakers for 6 months, they’ve been broken down for 4 months as in trying to find a resolution with KEF.

Buy another brand !

### 1/5 — cannot connect

*2026-05-29, version 1.28.2*

Have to spend at least 30 minutes every time I try to connect and listen. Do you test your app before releasing to your customers?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome app, great product

*2026-08-03, version 1.30.0*

Really great app: not sure why it has bad ratings. Just follow the app directions!! Everything you need to get started is in the box and the app walks you through it step by step.

### 5/5 — KEF XIO

*2026-07-30, version 1.30.0*

### 5/5 — Works great for what it does

*2026-05-26, version 1.28.2*

I don't know why this gets such poor reviews, it works great for doing the things you need it to do, ie switching between modes and all that. The integration with Deezer and my DLNA server is excellent, better than VLC which I was using. I can add songs to queue from multiple sources, I think that is so cool! And I like to use the app instead of Airplay because it avoids the hiccup while Airplay initializes, missing the first few seconds of the song. Finally fade between songs is seamless. Overall very nice app from a small Audiophile oriented company, very impressed just like I am with the speakers. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Qobuz Connect macht den Unterschied

*2026-04-19, version 1.28.1*

Endlich wurde Qobuz Connect integriert. Das ist ein Gamechanger. Die LS50 Wireless II werden dadurch immens aufgewertet.
Top Update!!!

### 5/5 — Gets the job done

*2026-04-09, version 1.28.0*

Had not trouble to get my Lsx2 connected to the network and app. App works well, and each update improves the ease of use. Like the ability to customize the sound of my speakers.

### 5/5 — Works now

*2026-04-04, version 1.28.0*

Please add eq settings for kef coda w

### 5/5 — The Worst

*2026-03-22, version 1.27.0*

The connectivity is terrible for such an expensive speaker. There are so many ways they could improve this and I wish they would!

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2026-02-26*

Found the app to be easy to set up and use. Love that I can profile my speaker to customize to my room. Works with all of my high rez streaming services.

### 5/5 — Better than other apps

*2026-02-19, version 1.27.0*

It’s not perfect but compared to many others I have used recently this app is far more functional than its competitors. I have used with multiple KEF products and it’s way better. It’s also a HUGE improvements over their 1st gen applications. Looking forward to seeing continued improvements as the product line grows.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-12-27, version 1.26.1*

Don’t get all the negative reviews. The app does exactly what it is supposed to do. At least in my case. Been using it for a couple of weeks with the LSX II and I see no issues, no bugs or unintentional disconnects. Everything is well layed out as well as explained within the menus. Really couldn’t ask for more.
