Ultimate in frustration :( *2023-08-10, version 5.7.0* While I love Scott Kelby, this app is virtually impossible to use. I signed up for a upcoming trip so I could watch videos offline. It is difficult to tell if you have downloaded them. Furthermore, when you try to retry the download it says queued but NEVER starts the download. No in app support. But I am unable to use the downloaded lessons of the courses to watch while traveling on an airplane (or any place where Wi-Fi is not available or reliable). The app allows you to download the course. But when you open the app with no Wi-Fi available the app won’t work, or it will ask you to login. When you try to login it will say no Wi-Fi available. I’ve update my OS devices and removed and reinstalled the KelbyOne App, then downloaded the course(s) again, but with no Success. Really disappointed because it’s very easy for me to take a class in the iPad while following with my camera but very difficult if I need to sit in front of my pc. The video often somehow only plays about half a second, then stops. I press play and it immediately pauses. If i click play several times in a row i can sometimes “trick” it into playing. This generally happens when I return to a class I started previously. I also have classes I’ve started previously that I was successful in viewing only to come back to them and they will no longer load. This app has always had problems. I’m a mobile app designer and have worked on numerous apps, its not this hard to get it right with the right team and investment. (And ps. This app isn’t all that complicated) ### 1/5 — Disaster of an App *2020-05-29, version 4.7.15* For a service that prides itself on delivering its product online, this app is a disaster. It crashes continually even with the latest software updates. Little things — like auto play — that are critical to the user experience — simply don’t work. Needs a major update. ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2025-11-12* Live Scott, love the content but the iOS and tvOS apps are just awful. Bugs, not properly formatted for current screens. For a subject that requires such attention to detail, the apps have zero attention to detail. These are amateurish bugs, really no excuse. ### 1/5 — No Downloads *2024-11-22* Apparently Kelby has recently deleted the ability to download courses to your iOS devices. Why? Going backwards? Instead Kelby wants to see you a $1000 upgrade. This issue has since been fixed as of version 6.1.1. Please try again and let us know if you are still having issues. ### 1/5 — Can’t logon *2022-12-16, version 5.7.0* Please fix app or remove from App Store. ### 1/5 — Total failure *2022-09-23* Update September 23, 2022: same problems doom app. KelbyOne continues to charge money and app not working as advertised (not working off line, crashes then asks for user credentials however fails to validate them when offline). A DA should look into the practices of this company… Update October 3, 2021: app is total junk Apple should ban the money grab operation. Previous review: Despite numerous email exchanges for over two months with the developing team this app is a total failure. It seems as if KelbyOne has promoted this app to attract paying customers but fails to deliver. Developing team (if there is such a thing as”developing team”) has shown no ability to fix the app. The latest release claims to have fixed the problem of crashing when watching videos offline. Yet another false claim! And to add to the list of problems with the app, now after it crashed it prompts for the account credentials; however, after entering the user ID, before I even get a chance to enter the password it crashes - bottom line there is no way to start it. The “developing team” clearly has no knowledge on how to develop an app, and clearly has no clue on how to perform app tests (little hint: no need to take an actual flight, download some videos, then turn off the WiFi and attempt to start the app while in “airplane mode”). IT WILL CRUSH! Imagine the users’ frustration, after spending hours downloading videos to watch during some long flight to discover that all that was in vein. The application does not even allow you to mark videos that can be downloaded without the user baby sitting the app, or as some other apps do, allow the user to “sync” previous downloads based on the user’s profile. Complete waist of time and money - stay away from It! Shame on Kelby One for “offering” an app like this. ### 1/5 — Still a terrible app *2022-09-21, version 5.7.0* Have tried so many times to use this app. Still can’t download courses to an iPad. Very frustrating. Everything I need is all in one place! ### 5/5 — UPDATED 9-20-22 Same download complaint as other reviews *2022-09-20, version 5.7.0* 4 stars for using online, 0 stars for using offline when traveling on a plane. If I am able to effortlessly download and later view, without Internet connection, almost any video, newspaper, magazine, book from everyone else, why not Kelby courses and conference videos when I, and many other folks, pay good money for membership? UPDATE: Changed to 5 stars. I emailed Kelby One member customer service. They responded within minutes and explained that you can view downloaded course videos without an Internet connection. Just download in advance of your trip, you can log out of your device, but stay logged into the app. If you don’t log out of the app, you have access to your courses via the app without an Internet connection. ### 5/5 — Great New App *2021-07-13, version 5.5.5* Love the updated app. It’s so much faster and never crashes on me anymore.
