## What is Kelva?

Some weeks run themselves. Others feel twice as heavy, on exactly the same plan.

Most training apps do not know the difference. They show you the same session whether you slept seven hours or four.

YOUR PROGRAMME STAYS PUT

Progress comes from consistency and progressive overload, not from a programme being rebuilt every week. Kelva does not touch your training plan.

What gets adjusted is today: a little less volume, a lower target, or a deliberate deload. Tomorrow your plan is exactly where you left it.

WHAT KELVA WORKS FROM

• Your sleep from Apple Health: measured against your own average, not a textbook number
• Your cycle day, if you share it

Both are on to begin with, and you can switch either off. The app runs on what it has and tells you on screen which inputs counted. With both off it gives you no number at all.

ABOUT THE CYCLE, HONESTLY

We do not tell you to train differently in a particular phase. The evidence does not support it: a 2023 systematic review found no influence of cycle phase on strength performance or on training adaptation.

What is evidenced is something else. That hormonal fluctuation affects energy, perceived exertion and recovery. That is what Kelva measures in you, rather than reading it off a chart: what counts is what you enter for the day, on a scale of one to five. If you enter nothing, the estimated phase stands in. It weighs a little less than your sleep, it nudges a day rather than deciding it, and you can switch it off entirely.

And it gets better the longer you use it: after four cycles the app knows your pattern, not a diagram's.

TODAY'S SESSION, OPENED UP

A session is a screen, not a note. Exercises with sets and reps, and behind them, once you open one up: the instructions step by step, which muscles work, what equipment you need, a substitute if the station is taken, and an easier version.

Your week is built from your goal and what you tell the app, out of a hand-curated exercise catalogue. After that you rebuild it yourself: drag the blocks, move the days.

ASK KELVA

Kelva sits in the bottom right corner. You tap a question, she answers: what today asks of you, how an exercise is done, what to do instead, why today's session came out shorter.

She also tells you what she does not say. No nutrition, no supplements, no diagnosis, nothing on pregnancy or menopause, no medication. If something hurts, she does not lead you deeper into the app. She points you to someone who can judge it.

ONE PERSON IN IT WITH YOU

You can link a friend. She sees exactly one thing: whether you completed your planned week, as a count of finished sessions.

Not your cycle. Not your sleep. Not your check-ins. Not what or how heavy you trained.

YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

Sleep, cycle and your daily check-ins are stored and calculated on your iPhone. They are not sent to our server, not held in any backup of ours, and not passed on.

That is not a statement of intent. There simply is no endpoint for these values. Sleep and cycle are authorised separately. The only thing Kelva writes back to Apple Health is a night you confirmed yourself; your cycle, never.

FREE, AND KELVA PLUS

Free, permanently: the training week, the sessions with their instructions, the daily check-in, your shape as one number, asking Kelva, and one person in it with you.

Kelva Plus takes the adjusting off your hands: Kelva changes today's session herself instead of suggesting it to you. Along with your full history and export to your calendar.

Kelva Plus is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly. It renews unless you turn it off in your App Store settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. Purchases can be restored in the app.

Requires an iPhone on iOS 16.4 or later.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.4 — 2026-10-05

Scan a meal: in the kitchen, take a photo of your plate or pick one from your photos, and Kelva estimates the calories and macros.

The exercise library now starts with your focus: glutes, waist, back, arms or legs, with the best moves for each.

### 1.4.3 — 2026-09-25

You can now set up the widget: press and hold, tap "Edit Widget" and choose what it shows. Your next session with a countdown, your week as seven marks, or your streak as one number.
The line with your partner can be switched off, for a widget on a desk other people see.
Several widgets, several views: each keeps its own choice.
The widget follows the day and the week on its own, even if you do not open the app for a while.
On the lock screen the week is a ring and the streak a number.
The widget now wears the app's colours. It needs iOS 17.

### 1.4.2 — 2026-09-14

You can now set up the widget: press and hold, tap "Edit Widget" and choose what it shows. Your next session with a countdown, your week as seven marks, or your streak as one number.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-09-12

Every exercise now has a figure that shows how it is done.
Kelva says what her assessment rests on: your sleep, how your body feels today, or both.
The back arrow during setup always goes back, and "What do you train with?" in Settings stays in Settings.
Signing out removes everything personal from the device. Your streak is only shared when you say so.
Kelva Plus: prices load reliably, and Restore also works from the offer.
System dialogs in your language, and light, to match the app.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-09-01

Kelva now measures your sleep herself.

If your iPhone has no watch to record the night, Kelva looks at when you were still and shows you what she found in the morning. If it is right, one tap confirms it and the night goes into Apple Health. Nothing is saved without your yes.

Your days at a glance.

The Me tab now leads with your days, your run sits beside them and your goal above. You can open any past day and see what it was made of.

Your plan as a month.

The week view is still there, but the plan opens as a month: every day a vessel with its session name, or a rest day.

Your goal, written out.

The Training tab now says at the top what you set out to do: today's weight and your target, how much is left, your pace per week, and which week of your plan you are in.

The first run is new.

Kelva asks, in your own words, what your week really looks like: how often you want to train, what regularly gets in the way, and what equipment you have. One question at a time. At the end you see your finished week before deciding on anything.

Also: updates now arrive as soon as you come back to the app, instead of two launches later. Plus many small improvements to wording and handling.
